One bad song can empty a dance floor, and the right one can turn a room full of strangers into a single loud chorus. We put that theory to the test by arguing about what truly belongs on a party playlist, what counts as a party starter vs a party killer, and why certain songs work across generations at weddings, school dances, and bar nights.
We also catch up on real life: travel weekends, no sleep, and a surprisingly honest look at a health journey built on structure. We talk through a realistic “what I eat in a day,” the basics of a calorie deficit, how processed “health” foods can trick you, and why adding healthy fats and vegetables often matters more than chasing perfect macro math. Yes, ChatGPT comes up too, including how we’re using it as a sounding board for grocery choices and routines.
On the music-news side, we react to Lewis Capaldi teasing a return to the studio, then unpack a viral America’s Got Talent moment: 16-year-old Nene Royal tearing into “Zombie” by The Cranberries with serious stage presence. From there, we pivot to our Song of the Week, Bob Seger’s “Turn The Page,” and the bigger reminder it sparks about judgment, empathy, and finding common ground.
Then it’s pure fun: we shuffle our own libraries for “Party Starter or Party Killer,” debate the Top 10 party songs list, and get into the real-world details that make a wedding DJ set hit or flop, including closers like “Mr. Brightside” and why “September” keeps winning. Subscribe, share this with your group chat, and leave a review with your number-one party anthem.

What Makes A Great Party Song
SPEAKER_03Music can make or break a party. One bad song can empty the dance floor, but the right song can bring everyone together in seconds. So which songs have earned their place as the greatest party anthems ever? Let's talk about it.
SPEAKER_04I fucking love it. I'm the worst person to have a podcast.
SPEAKER_02I can be what's up, everybody.
SPEAKER_04Welcome back to the show. Like Taylor said, we are going over a whole bunch of fun topics today. We have your top 10 party songs along with a young girl who has shocked the world and AGT. And Lewis Capaldi has something to tease. But first, life updates, Taylor.
Sleepy Life Updates And Wedding Travel
SPEAKER_04How's it going?
SPEAKER_03I'm sleepy, dude. I have not gotten to sleep in this is gonna be so crazy. Don't judge me. Can you just promise that you're not gonna judge me? Because I know you're gonna be like, oh my god, I have a baby. Blah blah blah. I get it. You have a baby, all right?
SPEAKER_04I I promise. No judgment.
SPEAKER_03I have not been able to sleep past like 6 a.m. We're now going on seven days straight.
SPEAKER_04Oh wow.
SPEAKER_03And like I'm a little tired. I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm a little tired. We were partying up all weekend. We had a wedding we were going to back in Ohio, so it was a big travel weekend. Um hopped on a plane on Friday, hopped on a plane on Sunday. I felt like an influencer.
SPEAKER_04So felt like an influencer.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because I always do those short trips going to Bali for the weekend, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04I I'm not in depth into the influencer culture, I'm gonna be honest with you. People call us influencers.
SPEAKER_03Someone say I want to be an influencer.
SPEAKER_04I call us journalists, but people call us influencers.
SPEAKER_03Oh, did you hear that? That was my jaw.
SPEAKER_04Um, well, I am on a bit of a health journey.
SPEAKER_03Yes, you are. How's it going?
SPEAKER_04I have taken my first steps for the audience listening. I know I've talked about it several times. I've talked about my struggles and how difficult things have been, but I have taken my first steps towards health and wellness and fitness. Um it's going well.
Health Journey And Food Addiction Honesty
SPEAKER_04I am down, I believe, between somewhere between 10 and 12 pounds.
SPEAKER_03That's exciting.
SPEAKER_04Yep, yep, yep. So, I mean, it it's going swimmingly. I'm I'm excited with the progress, but I do understand that that progress will inevitably stall at some point.
SPEAKER_03Um you just have to you just have to in a implement some new things.
SPEAKER_04For sure, yeah. You know, no, I I think I I've talked about it a lot recently, and I think this is this is really it. This is really yeah, I've tried it before, um, but this time I'm taking it far more seriously than I have in the past. And yeah, uh it it took a lot to realize that I just I have a food addiction, and I have to treat myself as an addict.
SPEAKER_01As an addict, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like I told our mother on the phone recently, you don't give a meth head meth, so you don't give me pizza. Exactly. That's just how life has to be, unfortunately.
SPEAKER_03You you have inspired me to also get it together. When I go grocery shopping tomorrow-ish, we'll see. I think I'm I'm gonna do what you're doing with your your breakfast and your lunch.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I mean, I I am not the person to judge someone's wellness or health or fitness. I am not the person to come to for any sort of wellness, health, or fitness advice. Um, I'm just doing what I think is right. I'm going into this thing blind. I don't know what I'm doing. I am relying on uh chat GPT, which I know Taylor loves.
SPEAKER_03Um I've come to be okay with it.
SPEAKER_04Well, I've programmed this specific chat to be a wellness coach and a dietitian and a nutritionist. Yes, Taylor.
SPEAKER_03Absolutely crazy. You didn't ask me.
SPEAKER_04Well, I also programmed it to be like a therapist, and I told it things that I didn't feel comfortable telling anybody else.
SPEAKER_03So that makes me feel a little better, but please know that I literally can go get my nutrition license.
SPEAKER_04Right. No, I understand that.
SPEAKER_03Well, so let's chat's taking my job.
SPEAKER_04Let me well let's let's do something real quick. Let's see how accurate chat is.
SPEAKER_03Oh gosh, don't start asking questions. I don't actually have the certificate.
SPEAKER_04But let me run you through what so I start my day off. I have switched to a decaf version of my brown sugar shake and espresso every morning.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04Um, so I still go and get it, but it's now a decaf version.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_04I have a protein shake in the morning that is caffeinated. It has one cup of coffee, caffeine.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_04Um,
Breaking Down A New Daily Meal Plan
SPEAKER_04it has 30 grams of protein, it has one gram of fiber, okay, and 24 other vitamins and minerals.
SPEAKER_03Perfect.
SPEAKER_04I also have in the morning a turkey bacon sandwich from Starbucks, which is healthier than what you were getting. Yes, with egg white.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_04And that is my breakfast. That's what I have. Uh and I usually have that around like 7 a.m.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_04And then at 10, between like 10 and 11, I'll have like my midday snack, which consists of a fiber one bar.
SPEAKER_01Perfect.
SPEAKER_04Um, a handful of granola, uh protein granola, not just a regular granola, protein granola, uh, which is equivalent to one serving. Um so it's 17 grams of protein.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_04The fiber one bar is my my daily dose of fiber, and that's my midday snack. And then around 2 p.m., I have a lunch that is a one of those little cups of minute rice, but it's brown rice, so I'm getting fiber there as well. Yes. And um white chicken breast meat, just diced up, and I I eat those together. No, no, no butter, no sauce, no nothing.
SPEAKER_02I just eat it.
SPEAKER_04And then for uh I don't have anything after that until um around like four, between four and five, I will have um another handful of granola before I leave work. And then when I get home, I eat a banana and some berries and uh chicken and rice. And and another protein shake. I have uh an evening protein shake. This one is not caffeinated, it is just chocolate flavored.
SPEAKER_03Protein, got it. Yep, so I think you're in the right direction. You're definitely in a calorie deficit, I would say. I am consuming roughly 2100 calories a day, which is good because before, with everything that you were were eating, you were consuming like somewhere around four or five thousand a day. I was gonna say a lot of calories. Um, I will say moving forward, what you're doing is great. I would like to see more healthy fats.
SPEAKER_01Elaborate.
SPEAKER_03You need those fats. Butter is not the enemy. You have to get actual butter, not I can't believe it's not butter, none of the margarine. Oh, oh, oh, sorry. Real butter.
SPEAKER_04I am getting that fat. Sorry, I forgot. So when I make my chicken, I cook it in avocado oil.
SPEAKER_03I was gonna say avocado oil. I would still like some more. Like you're getting
Fats Veggies Meal Prep And Label Tricks
SPEAKER_03a little in the in the egg whites and everything. I would like to see some more healthy fats. Um the fiber is great. I also, once you get into like a better routine, what you're doing is great, but it's a lot of processed things. Like the fiber one bar, the the minute rice. Like I would, if you had the chance, I would meal prep for the week like brown rice. Because minute rice still has all those preservatives, right? Like it's still it's got everything in it. So I would meal prep your rice and your chicken. And then you can just like grab the container and go. I think that's gonna make you feel better. Um, I'm trying to think of what else. You can also, honestly, if you get into like the whole meal prepping thing, I know it's a lot, and like you have a baby, so don't feel obligated. You don't have to. What you're doing is great, but you can make those breakfast sandwiches.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah. I did purchase the stuff to make the breakfast sandwiches.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I was the plan.
SPEAKER_04I'm waiting until the weekend because I have never cooked turkey bacon before. That's so I don't know what I'm doing.
SPEAKER_03What you're looking for, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04But I bought all of the ingredients actually. And so Starbucks, their English muffin is just a regular English muffin.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_04I bought a multi-grain English muffin.
SPEAKER_03I was just about to say a multi-grain English muffin would be great. Um, also, I would do some more veggies with your with your chicken and rice. I would some add some more veggies. Zucchini is great, very yummy if you if you make it correctly. Um, flavors, also, don't be afraid to use some soy sauce, right? Measure it. Don't measure with your heart, measure it with an actual thing. Um, but add some flavor. You can have some flavor, you can have some butter. It just needs to be like whole ingredients. That's the big thing. But what you're doing and being in your calorie deficit is great. Chat, chat just has not done you wrong.
SPEAKER_04Those are just my little tools. Um, all of the food decisions I've made have been my decisions. The uh the only thing that chat does for me in regards to food is I tell it what I'm thinking about doing, and it tells me if that's a if that's a smart option or if there's another option out there that would be better. So chat GPT has also said that I need more vegetables for sure.
SPEAKER_03More more vegetables, more healthy fats. I'm trying to think of like what else would have like you have the egg whites. Also, you can have like if you prefer an actual egg, those aren't the enemies. Like, you can have an egg in the morning. They actually eggs are fantastic, like as a whole, like without just the egg whites. It has your fats, it's got your carbs, it's got protein. Yeah, it's got all the good stuff in there.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but yeah, it it has it has helped out a bunch, like the the fiber one bar. So, like when I was I was going on and uh ordering our groceries right from Walmart and I was going and looking at different things, and I would just send it stuff. I'd be like, What do you think of this? And it'd be like that's actually a horrible plan. Like, don't buy that. It's just telling you that it's because food packaging is so um um uh deceiving. Like these companies, it it should be illegal, honestly. Uh what they're doing, you're right.
SPEAKER_03It it should be. Isn't it crazy?
SPEAKER_04It's not it is, it's it is crazy, genuinely. It is crazy.
SPEAKER_03Uh like a scientist to read them. It's insane.
SPEAKER_04Like all of the stuff that says like protein and like all of the health and fitness foods and stuff that are at the store, they're all garbage, and for the most part, and um a lot of them haven't even changed their ingredients, they just slapped how much protein was already in it. Yes, like all of these chips, all of like the quest chips and stuff, they slapped the label protein on them and started selling them as protein chips, but it's just a regular chip.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I will say you can go for for some healthier snacks too. Like, I personally love chat can tell me if I'm not wrong or not. Chlory Kardashian has popcorn out. I don't know if you know this or not. Dude, it's fire, and it's only like I don't know, like 90 calories or something, like for like a cup, maybe not even that much, but like the whole tagline is like all good stuff, no fluff or something like that. I don't know, but it's really good. It's like a protein popcorn, yeah. Um, so I like to munch on that. I get the the sweet and salty or something, and then I have been, I too have been eating a lot of granola. I get little granola bites, they're pretty good.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I'm doing the the Kodiak brand protein granola like clusters.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm doing I mine isn't protein, but I do like uh they're the made good brand. I think they're also there, I got them at Target, but they have like cleaner ingredients.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03I think like I had that this morning and it held me over for the most part until lunch. And then I mean, I didn't eat until lunch, so I guess it did hold me over until lunch. And then I also really like Drizzelicious. I've gotten on that train. I don't know if you've tried Drisolicious, but they could dude, it's so good. They it's it's essentially like a tiny fluffy rice cake, right? With like something yummy drizzle, like if you want something sweet, right? Because you don't have to cut out everything. Like you can you can enjoy. I mean, granted, don't give a crackhead crack. I get that. Um, but like the drizzelicious comes in, you can get the tiny packages because before I could eat a whole drizzelicious bag on my own. And I said, we can't do that because then that whole only only a hundred calories or whatever. I'm like, yeah, I'm I'm 700 calories down. Yeah, yeah. But they have little like travel bags, like little, little, like lunch bags of them, and they're also like pretty low in calorie, and they have very few yeah, actually.
SPEAKER_04But my thing is is like I I can go without the sweets and stuff. Like I like when and you know me, you know me my your entire life. Um, but like people who know me know that like I'm comfortable in routine giving me this is what I do every day. I'm good. So like yeah, I'm happy with the foods that I've chosen. Yeah, and and like I'll make micro adjustments once once the I hit like that plateau.
SPEAKER_03But right now, yeah, once you hit that plateau, chill with what you're doing, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04But but yeah, um, but regardless, like people are like, Well, you're gonna get tired of this, that, and the other. You're gonna want something sweet. Like, no, no, cut it all out. Like, you know, it doesn't bother me any. My only gripe was the coffee, and I just said, I'll just switch to decaf. It tastes the same.
SPEAKER_03It tastes the same. It's fine. I will say, I think you would be a fan. You like pistachios, don't you? Aren't you a fan?
SPEAKER_04Pistachios, yes. Uh, I had uh pistachios. Sorry, I did have pistachios today.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I was gonna say pistachios, fat, fiber, all the good omegas. I also do like you don't eat yogurt, but I do love a protein yogurt in the morning too, uh, because it doesn't taste gross. All of their yogurt's nasty.
SPEAKER_04I love yogurt. I don't like Greek yogurt, and Greek yogurt's the one you're supposed to eat.
SPEAKER_03It's gross.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Try, I would try, I'll send you the link. The yogurt I used to eat at your house whenever I was watching Adam, that's what I would start my day with was like that protein yogurt brand. It doesn't taste like green yogurt. I would put frozen blueberries, wild blueberries, because they have better antioxidants than just like normal blueberries. Frozen wild blueberries, and then Dylan and I recently got not recently, it was a while ago, but we got this like seed blend. It had like hem seed, flax seed, chia seed. And I literally would mix that in my yogurt. I would do two, three uh tablespoons, mix it all in there, and that also has all of your fiber, your fats, your omegas, like pretty good.
SPEAKER_04Um, but all of that being said, we are in fact a music show, and we are in fact, we have some fun stuff to go over today, actually. Um, I only put two stories on here and and some other stuff that we're gonna have fun with. But the first story that we have here is Lewis Capaldi. Following the success of BST Hyde Park performances, Lewis Capaldi confirmed that he is planning
Lewis Capaldi Teases A New Album
SPEAKER_04on heading back into the studio after the summer to begin work on his new album.
SPEAKER_03That's exciting.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. Some new Lewis Capaldi music. I'm a big fan of him.
SPEAKER_03Big fan, yeah, 100%.
SPEAKER_04Sorry, there's a doggy hair on my not the doggy hair. Uh so, anyways, um, this next story, however, we have a video attached that we're gonna watch, and I'll have to pause it periodically and talk about it uh so that we don't get in trouble. Um but 16-year-old Nene Royal vow uh wowed the America's Got Talent judges
AGT Viral Cover Of Zombie
SPEAKER_04with a powerful performance of the song Zombie by the Cranberries. Her audition earned her four yeses and a standing ovation and quickly went viral online.
SPEAKER_03I have seen the video and it's crazy she didn't get a golden buzzer.
SPEAKER_04Really?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Okay, well, we're gonna watch it and then we're gonna talk about it. Okay. Um so I have that pulled up here. Let's go ahead and dive right into that. And again, like I said, I will have to pause this periodically, so Hello, how are you?
SPEAKER_00What is your name? My name is Nene. How old are you? Where are you from? I'm from Puka, Thailand.
SPEAKER_04Um, first thing. Puka to Thailand? I have my entire life thought that you say that as fuck it.
SPEAKER_03And now we know. They don't have the same phonics that we do.
SPEAKER_04I was raised on phonics.
SPEAKER_01Oh my favorite place.
SPEAKER_04Why why is that her favorite place? Why is what's her name? Uh Sylvia Ingarde or whatever.
SPEAKER_03Vanguard or something.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Did you just say gonorrhea?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Whatever. Why is that her favorite place?
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Book at Thailand. Why are people I thought the whole thing was like, if you're American, no, if you're American and you go to Thailand, you're going for one reason and it's not good. So, anyways.
SPEAKER_00My favorite place. Um I'm 15 years old, and you know, tomorrow's my birthday, so I'll be 16. Happy birthday.
SPEAKER_04She looks like um a younger version of the girl from Wayne's world. Wait, is that racist? I'm sorry. If that's racist, I'm sorry. I genuinely, I genuinely meant like she does look like that lady.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But now I now that I said it out loud, I feel I feel that it's racist and I feel bad. Fuck. I'm sorry, guys. That was wrong. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00Happy birthday. Tell us a little bit about yourself. There she is.
SPEAKER_04Sophia Bingardi.
SPEAKER_00And my biggest dream just kind of is like, I really want to be superstar on superstar.
SPEAKER_04Superstar.
SPEAKER_00Four. Yes. Have you ever been on a stage like AGT?
SPEAKER_04Why is she still relevant today?
SPEAKER_03Why do we have to keep pausing it every four seconds?
SPEAKER_04Sorta. Not every four seconds, but like close to it.
SPEAKER_03Why is she still revelant rev rev revelant?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Re- relevant. Relevant.
SPEAKER_03Relevant. I was thinking of prevalent.
SPEAKER_04Sophia Wingardium Laviosa. Why is she still important?
SPEAKER_03Um, dude, I don't know, because she's she's cool. Leave her be. I love her. She's my my Colombian lady. She Colombian? Someone look into that.
SPEAKER_04Um, I know a handful of people who think that she is like the hottest woman in the world.
SPEAKER_03No, she's pretty. Don't get me wrong.
SPEAKER_04I also agree she is not. That accent would drive me up a wall. That's not even her fault.
SPEAKER_03You're not an accent guy.
SPEAKER_04Not that one, specifically hers coming out of her mouth.
SPEAKER_03No, I I think she's pretty and I think she ages very well. She ages gracefully. She was hot in the 90s.
unknownMaybe.
SPEAKER_00I love her guitar. Yes. Are you gonna be nervous? I'm very nervous a little bit. Like, you know what's my dream to be A G T. Today I came with my my father. He's very supporting me. Okay, we're we're ready for you. Go ahead. Thank you.
SPEAKER_04Can I also say that like there are a handful of people in this world? Yeah, I mean, I guess she looks like it like every other decent woman in the 90s.
SPEAKER_03Oh, she was pretty very pretty in the 90s. Anyways, go ahead.
SPEAKER_04Uh there's a handful of people in this world that would listen to this video and critique her English. And to that I say, um How dare you? Yeah, like it's so impressive that this this girl is 15 years old and knows two languages, and I barely know one.
SPEAKER_03Truly, even the people who speak English don't speak it properly. Come at me when you know all your suffixes and prefixes, guys. Tell me the difference between a verb and an adverb.
SPEAKER_04Well, the adverb you add to a verb, right?
SPEAKER_03I don't know. I don't know the difference, but I'm also not critiquing her English.
SPEAKER_04This is so crazy what she's about to do.
SPEAKER_01Dude, it's insane.
SPEAKER_03Doesn't it make you want to get back into guitar? Don't you wish that you were you were like one? Dude, that's sick, dude. Yeah, it's so funny that you can literally see Simon Cow, like the dollar signs pop in his eye.
SPEAKER_04Oh, literally. Literally, he was so bored for a moment. He was so bored and then went, okay, I'm listening, money.
SPEAKER_03Literally, you can see the point where he goes, I can do something with this.
SPEAKER_04Um, you you asked Taylor about me getting back into guitar. What'd you say? Do it, don't I wish what?
SPEAKER_03Don't you wish that you were um musically inclined? Don't you wish that you could play an instrument? Don't you wish that?
SPEAKER_04Sometimes, yeah. Some days. Some days I do wish that. I was talking with Danny recently, and and I told Lindsay this idea, and she said that I should do it. And I would like to. I don't know time constraints if it's possible. I'm gonna see. Plus, I have to get the group together. But a popular thing, a popular thing that's going on in the northern area, and uh those of you that might not know, typically your music scenes come from the north and the west. So you have like the north moves
Cover Band Night Dream And Music Tangents
SPEAKER_04south and then the west moves east, and that's kind of where we all learn about music collectively as a nation. Yeah. Um, and currently, north has a a cool thing going on where artists artists are doing these cover bands where they're doing like one show as a specific cover band, so it'll be like tonight only the cover band is Green Day for the night. Yeah, and then they play like the entire American Idiot album. That's cool, and then that's the only time they play that set, and they like dress up like Green Day and they put on the performance, and then the next time it's like they're Blink 182. You know what I mean? Like they pick a different band every time, learn that one set list, do one show, and then move to the next band. That's what I'm saying. And I told I told Lindsay, I said, I think I want to do that, I would like to do that. That sounds very, very fun, and um, I think that I might start making some moves towards that. Just as like a fun little thing to do, like once a month, just get a group of people together, we learn 10 songs, we play one show and then disappear.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, I love it. That's fun. Yeah, a good time.
SPEAKER_04Anyways. Oh good, dude.
SPEAKER_03On a stage, and her stage presence is insane.
unknownStop it.
SPEAKER_04Well, and so I don't I don't know necessarily how much I believe that either. Because I looked into this girl and like they've been they've been doing, she's got a whole band, they've been doing stuff for that. Yeah, but I mean like you think something this large, yeah, yeah, this caliber, which is is completely understandable and and yeah different, but like, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I just think I don't know, like playing playing that like little tiny like pop-up things here and there, and then like going to America's Got Talent. Agreed, like like her stage presence is crazy. Also, I would like to point out, I have never actually known like I've known the words to that song. Do you know what I mean? But I've never known the words to that song until she started singing it because she pr over pronunciates things for the English aspect, and I think that's really cool.
SPEAKER_04So, do you know what I mean? I need to look into this because I don't know, I don't know how accurate that was. I think she might have changed the words, but I could be wrong. I gotta look into it. I thought the line was with their tanks and their bombs and their bombs and their guns.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's also what I thought it was. Oh, she messed it up.
SPEAKER_04She might have, or just or she might have changed it on purpose.
SPEAKER_03That's what I'm guessing. You think it's a political thing?
SPEAKER_04I think it might be. I think it might be pop off, queen. Um, but like I said, I gotta dive into that more. I'm not sure. I don't wanna I don't wanna misquote the cranberries, but yeah, I can't do nothing. To my knowledge, it's their tanks and their bombs and their bombs and their guns.
SPEAKER_03You'd be proud. The the PTA I worked for or I worked for pulled out. I didn't know he knew balls. Yes, I didn't know he knew ball the way that he knows ball, but he started playing songs I said Harley would love this. He hit me, he first of all, he hit me with Cage the Elephants.
SPEAKER_04Oh, okay. Hold on, hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_03Uh cigarette daydream or Ain't No Rest for the Wicked, not Ain't No Rest for the Wicked because I didn't know the song that played, and that is the only Cage Elephant song I know.
SPEAKER_04Did it have the lines you can drive online?
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna be honest, I was working with people, so I'm not a hundred percent sure. But but he pulled out that he pulled out what else did he play? Oh, um um um some old posty. There was also old posty Rockstar Red Hot Chili Peppers. I looked over, I said I didn't know you noonball. And and I was like, Are you just finding songs? He was like, No, this is my playlist.
SPEAKER_04The chili peppers, the chili peppers.
SPEAKER_03There were so many things, and I was like, Harley would be vibing. He started playing Daughtery.
SPEAKER_01Oh, really?
SPEAKER_03That's what I'm saying. I was like, this is actually crazy, and then and then he hit me with the with the um oh nirvana. We listened to the entire like entirety of Nirvana, and and he got won, smell that smells like Teen Spirit, and I was like, Wow, quit my job, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_04So much nirvana for all of the women listening right now. If you've been forced to listen to this podcast with your husband slash boyfriend or whoever, or you're just listening on your own, just so you're aware, if your husband andor boyfriend has any Daughtery songs on their personal playlist, they be trying to fuck older women. Moms love Dodtree, Daughter, and that's the only person who loves Dodgery.
SPEAKER_03Truly, it was it was an incredible experience. It was.
SPEAKER_04I was like, this is a tip for the girls out there, didn't didn't know he knew ball like that.
SPEAKER_03I was like, that's insane. And then he hit me with uh sorry, it's music related, but he hit me with five o'clock somewhere and he looked at me.
SPEAKER_04He goes five o'clock somewhere.
SPEAKER_03So you know who this is?
SPEAKER_04I said, Yes, Alan Jackson, and the lady and Jimmy Buffett. Jimmy the buffet.
SPEAKER_03But he goes, he dumbfounded, he goes, that's not who it is. I can't believe you get that wrong. Looks at it. I said, look at it right now. I say, you don't know ball like I know ball. I said I'm American. And then he said, What do you mean by that? I said, I mean what I mean, and I'll say with my chest. And then he he looked at it and he goes, Oh, I guess it is Alan Jackson. And I said, Yeah, because I know ball. That's great. Same guy who didn't know who Jamie Buffett was. Anyway, sorry, that's my tangent. I thought you'd enjoy.
SPEAKER_04I love that. I love that. Um, I want to know what uh Cage the Elephant song he was listening to.
SPEAKER_03I could not tell you.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna listen to Cigarette Daydreams after this. I love that song.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, there were a handful of songs where I'm like, this is good. Yeah, I was like truly. I said, Why are you not on Oxmoor? He he was worried because it has to be cling music. And at first we were playing rap, and some questionable things were said in that song. Yeah, and when I said turn it off.
SPEAKER_04Um what do you remember what chili pepper song it was?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, of course. I knew it was there. There was that one, there was um Californication, there was Californication. Oh my gosh, what's the other one that's that's super well known? Under the bridge, under the bridge, and then I cannot, I literally can't even think of the song like at all. There was another really well-known one.
SPEAKER_04Um Californication. Oh, the other side, maybe maybe. I said, Hey yo, listen what I said.
SPEAKER_03No, not that one.
SPEAKER_04That's not the other side, I don't think, but I also love that song. Dude, I love the chili peppers.
SPEAKER_03I love the chili peppers, I really do. Scar tissue.
SPEAKER_04Oh, scar tissue, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh, let's see here. Well, so we covered the news. Uh, we are on my song of the week, Taylor. This one's a special one for the both of us.
SPEAKER_03I saw, I'm so excited.
SPEAKER_04Today's song of the week is the one and only turn the page by the late great Bob Seeger.
SPEAKER_03It is true.
SPEAKER_04Oh, wait. I said late great. I don't know if he's actually dead.
Song Of The Week Turn The Page
SPEAKER_04Hold on. Let me fact check it out.
SPEAKER_03He is. When when's the last time you played this song?
SPEAKER_04Oh, I'm so sorry. He is very much alive.
SPEAKER_03How old is he, 81?
SPEAKER_04My bad. Just the great young and the restless, am I right? Um, anyways, continue. What'd you say, Taylor? Sorry.
SPEAKER_03Um, when is the last time that you uh sang that song? Was it before before everything happened? Have you sang it since?
SPEAKER_04You mean like in a professional setting or like in my car?
SPEAKER_03Like in a professional setting.
SPEAKER_04Ooh. Probably not.
SPEAKER_03Because I have not sang amazing race sets.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I probably not. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Dang, should we should we do that?
SPEAKER_04Uh hey, if you're listening right now, do me a favor, comment or or uh do a uh a review or a chat, any way to get a hold of us.
SPEAKER_03Tell me not leave a review.
SPEAKER_04Tell me if you want to hear Taylor and I record professionally a cover of Amazing Grace and Bob Seeger's. Um, but no, I I don't think that I have. Yeah. Uh honestly, I can't remember a time that I have since then.
SPEAKER_03I you know what's really funny. First of all, beautiful song, beautiful song. I listened to Amazing Grace. It popped up on my Spotify randomly, like right before we were leaving for Greg's wedding. And it's the first time I've heard that song in 10 years on my walk. Sob. I was like, that's crazy. Anyways, back to your song. Great song.
SPEAKER_04Great song. Um great song. So this was our grandmother's favorite song. Yes. Uh, our grandmother's favorite artist. Yes. And it was one of the first songs that I learned how to play and sing together. Um, the lyrics are exceptionally powerful. And when I listened to it today, I realized that it's it's almost relevant today as like this beautiful reminder of how uh how destructive like judgment of others can be and how important it is to find unity despite us having disagreements or uh differing belief systems. And you also you also shouldn't jump to conclusions and judge books up by their cover. Uh, this is a problem that has been going on well before right now, and I know that it's in everyone's faces right now, but honestly, sit back and think of yourself for a second. This this isn't this isn't political, this is people being people. Think about the last time you saw a person with blue hair and glasses, or uh a handlebar mustache, or we'll even say like a Starbucks worker, and you didn't immediately jump to conclusions about their lifestyle and their belief system. And for the other side, think of any time that you have seen in the last 10 years an older white American wearing a ball cap that was anything other than a sports team, and didn't immediately jump to conclusions about that person, also. Yep, like truly we have a very, very divisive nature right now. Yep, and this has been a problem before, but back then it used to be about short-haired people versus long-haired people, and now it's it's far more now, but it was still political then. We're talking about the Vietnam veterans. Like, this is a story that has been written before, but we get to choose the ending, and until we get together and actually sit down and have a conversation about what we want that ending to be, we're just replaying history. Yeah, so that's always that's my message to everyone is yeah, love everybody, love everybody, don't be judging, don't judge people, don't jump to conclusions, and even if they do believe what they believe, still love them, still give them the time of day. Find commonality and common ground with everybody.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, not your ducks, not your roe.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_03Um I know a guy that wears an American flag ball cap, and he is the kindest person I know.
SPEAKER_04Hell yeah, brother.
SPEAKER_03And he'll he well loves everybody but doesn't judge them. Says the same thing. Yes, not his ducks, not his rope.
SPEAKER_04Um, normally we would do Lindsay's music meme breakdown, but in light of our list and this fun game that I wanted us to play, I'm gonna skip Lindsay's list this week. We'll follow up with that next week. Yeah, but this week we're gonna play a game that I'm calling party starter or party killer. Now, Taylor, we are talking about today the top 10 party songs.
SPEAKER_03Before we jump into this game, I just came to from a wedding.
SPEAKER_04Yes, and so did I. Before we jump into this game, though, I want to ask you what is one song that you would say has to be on a party playlist?
SPEAKER_03Akon smack that.
SPEAKER_04Okay, all right. I love it.
Party Starter Or Party Killer Shuffle Game
SPEAKER_03I anything, anything like that.
SPEAKER_04I was gonna say yeah, by Usher and 100%, 100%.
SPEAKER_03Um, get low.
SPEAKER_04Get low. Also, actually, I take it back.
SPEAKER_03Get low is a far better anything with acon, anything with Usher, anything with Lil John, anything with uh with uh T Pain.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03Throw it, throw it on that list.
SPEAKER_04So, what we're gonna do, Taylor, you got your phone handy.
SPEAKER_03I got my phone handy. I always do.
SPEAKER_04You're gonna jump on your playlist, I'm gonna jump on my playlist. We're gonna hit shuffle, and we're each gonna read a song, and we're gonna decide whether that is a party starter or a party killer.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Hang on, can I can I turn it down?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, I've got my volume off as well. Well, um, you want me to start?
SPEAKER_03I'll I'll start. I got dived by Ed Sheeran. And unfortunately, that is a party stopper. Love me some ed. Love me some ed. Uh it's not gonna do it for me. Not not my party. Yeah, not my not my party starting song.
SPEAKER_04There, there's there's some good Ed songs, but um, I've got Almost Easy by Avenge Sevenfold. Now I would say that this song falls somewhere in the middle, depending on the party.
SPEAKER_03It depends on the party. I also think it shouldn't be an ender or starter, but to have it there, I wouldn't think twice.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Do you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04It just depends on the party. It depends on the content.
SPEAKER_03Dude, I can't make this up. Tell me why this is what popped up. I just let me redo that.
SPEAKER_04That's how funny.
SPEAKER_03Okay. I have my next one.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_03Blank Space by Taylor Swift.
SPEAKER_04Party starter.
SPEAKER_03Party starters.
SPEAKER_04So hard. So hard.
SPEAKER_03Actually, let me let me add her.
SPEAKER_04You know what? Not only is that a party starter, that's a pregame party starter. That's what you're playing while you're cleaning the house, getting ready for said party.
SPEAKER_03100%. Oh, you're gonna love my next one too. Sorry, go ahead.
SPEAKER_04Um shake that by MM.
SPEAKER_03That's my favorite hold party. Forget the rest of the song. That is my favorite song by an MM. If you didn't know party part, just party. Just party. Bang! By AJR. Also a party starter. Party starter. It's such a good song.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that would dude. If I walked into a party and that song played, also now I kind of want to have a house party where every person that comes in. Like we pick what their entrance song is.
SPEAKER_03Wait, that's fun.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Um Sugar by System of a Down. Party starter. I can't I can't sing it because I'll get in trouble, but um, yeah, I would say that's a party starter. Again, depending on the party. This is my kind of party.
SPEAKER_03Depends on the party. Is it my kind of party? No, but I do I do love it. I love it for the people that love it. I have East Side by Halsey, Benny Blanco, Halsey, and Khaled.
SPEAKER_04Ooh, I don't know that song.
SPEAKER_03It's not about it's a it's a great song. I love the song. I love the song. It's I don't think a party starter. It's it's also one of those things like the Aveng Sevenfold song where it shouldn't start the party, it shouldn't end the party. I wouldn't think twice if it was in the middle.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I also feel like it depends on the type of party, but like, yeah, if I'm if I'm at a house party and the Cupid Shuffle comes on, I'm skipping that. Really?
SPEAKER_03I love the Cupid Shuffle.
SPEAKER_04I don't want the Cupid Shuffle at a house party. I don't want any sort of like dance organized dance song. Not a house party party. Now, if I'm at a wedding, if I'm at some sort of like dance dance, if the electric slide and the cupid shuffle don't get played at a wedding andor dance, I will riot. I will destroy your view.
SPEAKER_03Play the wobble at my funeral.
SPEAKER_04Fair. Fair.
SPEAKER_03I I wobbled that floor to death at this wedding I was at.
SPEAKER_04Could you imagine everybody over your gasket?
SPEAKER_03She's so great. That's what I need. That's what I want. Cupid shuffle at my party. Don't electric slide though. Don't play that one. I think I am going to have a set playlist at my funeral. Can someone DJ my funeral?
SPEAKER_04Could you imagine get low playing at funeral?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what I that's what I want to go down into the ground. Shut, shut, shut, shut, shut, shut. Please play LMFO as they're as everyone's saying speeches about how much they love me.
SPEAKER_04That's so funny. Um, I've got Drop Dead Legs by Van Halen, which of course is the famous song that played in that Family Guy episode where they go back in the time machine and then they get like they shoot forward in time, and Stewie's like, if you think Lois is attractive, wait until you see Meg and then she walks down the street. That's the song that plays in the background. Family Guy.
SPEAKER_03Party stopper, party killer, party killer.
SPEAKER_04Fair enough.
SPEAKER_03Not my not my type of party. I don't, I mean, Van Halen, that's a party where like they're doing the weed. Do you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04That's understandable.
SPEAKER_03That's a marijuana party.
SPEAKER_04Let's do two more each. Sorry.
SPEAKER_03Two more each. No, you're okay. Mine is nonsense by Sabrina Coapendula.
SPEAKER_04I feel that Sabrina Carpenter's music is probably a party starter, just based off of what I know.
SPEAKER_03I agree. However, uh yeah, you know what? Yeah, it's a party starter. I was gonna say there are other Sabrina Carpenter songs where I'm like, no, that should be a party starter. This one's not a bad one. Again, I wouldn't think twice if it was in the middle of a playlist.
SPEAKER_04Um Payphone by Maroon 5.
SPEAKER_03Party starter.
SPEAKER_04Anything like a payphone trying to call.
SPEAKER_03You know what's crazy? I a couple weeks ago went into like a like a maroon five vibe. And I remember love maroon five.
SPEAKER_04Maroon 5 is good. I I like Maroon 5.
SPEAKER_03I started listening to things. Their album where um She Will Be Love, that album is kind of fire, dude.
SPEAKER_04Songs about Jane. Yeah, it's the best thing that they ever did. Hands down, it's the best thing they've ever done.
SPEAKER_03Um, and then I really like the the album with payphone on it too.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I had a couple of good songs on there. I like the copy, and there was another one on there that I can't remember at the moment that I thought was really good, too. Yeah, one more night.
SPEAKER_03One more night. Lucky strike is really good.
SPEAKER_04Oh, lucky strike, I forgot about Lucky Strike, dude. They're fucking oh, Fortune Tellers on that album. Oh, I actually love that album.
SPEAKER_03Actually, really good album, yeah. I have I have burnt out about that. Burn the house down by AJR. Party starter.
SPEAKER_04Party, not only a party starter, party ender. Like party ender. Party ender, not as in like it ends the party, but like it's the song that I want to end the party.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I want this song and then I want closing time.
SPEAKER_04Yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, should that be what they lower me to the ground to? Closing time.
SPEAKER_04If I was at a bar and they played AJR's Burn the House Down followed by closing time, that what that might be the most serendipitous event of my life.
SPEAKER_03It would have been your version of my 4th of July.
SPEAKER_04I would be a complete piece with a band watching them close down a bar to closing time right after I listened to AJR and then hearing them start closing time, I might cry.
SPEAKER_03I fun fact, there was this class I had in college. Well, it was during band class, so it was like probably around 4, 4:30. And I don't remember whose class it was, but our buildings were really close, and you could hear the professor when class was ending, he would blare closing time with his windows open.
SPEAKER_04That's so funny.
SPEAKER_03That's how the students know it was time to go. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um, are you ready for this top 10 list?
SPEAKER_03I am ready.
SPEAKER_04So this is your top 10 party songs. Uh coming in at number 10, we have Get Lucky by Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams.
SPEAKER_03That's another one that played today, and my PTA went I don't know. It's well, because it's like when you listen to lyrics, you're like, mm. However, I guess they be they be playing some crazy things in there.
SPEAKER_04I is there other words besides
Top 10 Party Songs Ranked And Debated
SPEAKER_04up all night to get lucky?
SPEAKER_03Up all night to get up all night for good fun, up all night to get some, up all night to get lucky. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but it's just that over and over, right?
SPEAKER_03No, there's more words. Like, there's a whole like it's a whole thing, it's a whole song. I recently listened to it, that's why I know.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, all right.
SPEAKER_03Um yeah, party starter, dude. Oh, wait, we're done with that. Sorry.
SPEAKER_04But also, party also party starter. These are all actually all party starters.
SPEAKER_03I forgot we were doing a list.
SPEAKER_04This list is top tier. This might be one of my favorite lists of all time.
SPEAKER_03Really, dude. I you know I love a party. I was breaking it down on that dance floor. I was hitting the sprinkler.
SPEAKER_04Number nine, shut up and dance by walk the moon.
SPEAKER_03Shut up and dance with me. I love that song. I love that song.
SPEAKER_04I didn't, but it's it's getting it's getting to a point of age where I'm like back in on it. You know what I mean? When a song's like just too much when it comes out, and then like time passes, and you're like, actually, that song's great. Dude, it's such a bop. It's it's getting such a bop. Um Party in the USA by Miley Sidon.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Dare I say? I put her at 10 though.
SPEAKER_04Really? Switching gates. You know what? I don't disagree. I don't disagree.
SPEAKER_03I I think there's a time and place for her. I do, but it's more of like an American holiday or like a little white girl trash.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. And party in the USA is an outdoor party event.
SPEAKER_03Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_04Like there needs to be there needs to be dogs cooking.
SPEAKER_03Party in the USA is a karaoke song.
SPEAKER_04Let me ask you this. If if the and this is legitimate, this is a real question. This isn't getting real right now. Okay. If somebody presented, like if Congress presented the idea of swapping the Star Spangled Banner for the song party in the USA.
SPEAKER_03Absolutely not.
SPEAKER_04Really?
SPEAKER_03I love the Star Spangled Banner.
SPEAKER_04I would venture to say yes.
SPEAKER_03I I think I I think the Star Spangled Banner holds like such honorary significance, but I think I think it should go preamble, Star Spangled Banner, and then we end sporting events with party in the USA.
SPEAKER_04I think that genuinely if we're talking about what song truly repres represents what America is, I can't see a party in the USA.
SPEAKER_03Can I tell you what I wish the Star Spangled Banner was? This land is your land. This is my land.
SPEAKER_04Like if I was to swap it, or country roads.
SPEAKER_03Actually, that is that's America's song. Forget partisan music. That's a partisan. They also played that at the wedding.
SPEAKER_04No way, dude.
SPEAKER_03Yes, no way. And everyone was in a circle like this singing it.
SPEAKER_04And then after the first verse, everyone stopped because nobody knows the second verse.
SPEAKER_03Unfortunately, we are we were in Ohio, so they kept going. We also wait. Sorry, I know we're doing a list, but can I tell you what song came on? And I'll please. And it's so funny because obviously Dylan was with me and he's from Florida. Hang on, Snoopy came on.
SPEAKER_04What white trash wedding did you go to?
SPEAKER_03Listen, when I tell you, I felt like a sleeper agent because it comes on, and I'm like, I can play the song on trumpet, and then all of a sudden I started going, oh H I What? And maybe you love Ohio so much. I'm like, that's wild that we and Dylan's like looking around, like, what's going on? And I'm like, we're we're all doing the O H I O situation.
SPEAKER_04In the moment, in the moment, I would have jumped on board, but because I wasn't there, I want to burn that state to the ground.
SPEAKER_03Honestly, no, I've never felt more connected with a group of people. Do you know what I mean? It's like when you're seeing country roads, anyways. The people who are getting married, the groom, their family is really into sports. Of course. They're like heavily into sports, so I think that's what it was. Like it makes sense because his parents were getting in on it.
SPEAKER_04I had this conversation, it might have been with Chris recently, yeah. About like, because he he was talking about like how you know, like Ohio and stuff, and just talking about Ohio and stuff, and I was like, it might have been him, it might have been somebody else. I can't remember. But I was like, it's it's like when you're like it is a shithole. It is, but it's ours, but it's my shithole.
SPEAKER_03Don't say anything bad about it.
SPEAKER_04It's like I can I can talk shit all day long about it. You can't say nothing about it, but it's Ohio's bad girl.
SPEAKER_03That's right. It's my rock, all right.
SPEAKER_04I I was sending him pictures of different stuff from Ohio the entire time we were there, and I just kept saying only in Ohio. And he was like, he was like, This actually does look like a fever dream. He was like, You've sent me some of the craziest photos I've ever seen.
SPEAKER_03That's why we have it on. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_04Well, so one of the first picture, as soon as I got to Ohio, we went to Walmart in Calcutta.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_04And it wasn't, yeah, and it wasn't open yet because it was like 5 a.m.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And we walk up to the door because we didn't know that it wasn't open, and they have a sign plastered on the side of the wall that says no fireworks within a hundred feet. To which I said, number one, that's a crazy sign to see. It doesn't say no firearms, it says no fireworks.
SPEAKER_03You can be loaded with your clock on your side in a Walmart, but don't set off a bottle rocket, dude. But secondly, how a hundred feet doesn't feel like enough feet. I want to know what happened recently that they had to post that sign.
SPEAKER_04Because a football field?
SPEAKER_03I don't know. A hundred yards or something. Not a hundred feet.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, dude, a hundred feet ain't far enough.
SPEAKER_03No, it's it's not. It absolutely is not.
SPEAKER_04Um I think a hundred feet from my car to the door.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I literally a hundred feet. I think is the telephone pools are a hundred feet apart when you're doing it.
SPEAKER_04Dude, that's incredible.
SPEAKER_03That's crazy.
SPEAKER_04That's could you imagine being out there and like standing exactly like 102 feet and then just being like, ah, fuck you, coppers. That's insane.
SPEAKER_03I stand by because in in our PT clinic, obviously everyone knows I'm from Ohio, but like the PT who works there, he's like, Ohio isn't real. He's from Indiana, and he goes, Oh, it isn't real.
SPEAKER_04I took a picture of pizza. Do you want me to send you a picture of the pizza?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04To send to show him.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because that was I so I showed I sent Chris a picture of the Jojo's that we had, and he was like, Why are you sending me a pile of poop? And I said, It's not poop, it's delicious. It's JoJo's. And then I sent him a picture of that pizza, and he was like, Okay, everything about Ohio is fake. He was like, You guys eat poop for breakfast, you eat fake, uncooked pizza pizza.
SPEAKER_03It also can I tell you when Dylan and I went to go visit Miss Sabrina, Dylan wanted outback so bad. The nearest outback from Sabrina's house was in Pittsburgh, PA.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that's like what an hour and 20?
SPEAKER_03It was 45.
SPEAKER_0445.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because she because she moved closer to the Lisbon area.
SPEAKER_04Isn't it kind of crazy though?
SPEAKER_03That like genuinely sorry, go ahead.
SPEAKER_04Well, I was just gonna say, like, you now live in the city, right? So now you've you've experienced like kind of like city life, right? Yes, I would drive 45 minutes right now to go to 17 different places. But even today, if we were sitting in Ohio for a week and somebody was like, I really want to go to Outback, it's in Pittsburgh, and I looked and I was like, It's a 45-minute drive, I'd be like, Ain't no fucking chance I'm going to Pittsburgh.
SPEAKER_03So here's the thing but like it's not that far. I told Dylan, I was like, first of all, I need you to know because I don't think I ever had Outback before him and I started dating. Genuinely, I cannot remember a time in which I had Outback steakouts before that. And I said, Do you not see now of why I didn't? First of all, who's going to Pittsburgh? Also, it's in like not Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh. It's in like the ghetto of Pittsburgh. It's literally right off a turnpike, and it's just an outback. There is nothing that's hilarious.
SPEAKER_04And so that's that's a very Pittsylvania thing.
SPEAKER_03And I hate Pennsylvania so much. No, I I feel the same thing.
SPEAKER_04It's a joke, though. Like it feels like it's so far away.
SPEAKER_03Yes, no, yes, I I think if I think about Ohio, and genuinely, every I keep saying so genuinely, sorry.
SPEAKER_04Like genuinely, like people can people can come for me.
SPEAKER_03I think Hiram is a great place to live. And here is why you get to be in the outskirts of farm country, right? Where there's nothing. 25 minutes down the road, though, you're in civilization. You have a Target, you have a Walmart, you have your coffee places, you have nice restaurants, you have like actual like mall shopping centers. Like, I feel like that is a good like like hub.
SPEAKER_04Yes, like you you get everything. It's perfect. It really is perfect.
SPEAKER_03Hiram, Ohio is perfect. If I were to move to Ohio, I would have to live in High Rom, Ohio.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03With a storm shelter. Yeah, but like for sure. Um, but no, I I have the opposite thing where even now when I'm like, oh my god, it's only an hour to go there because we traveled so much going to Virginia, where I'm like 10 hours is truly nothing. That's what a road trip. Sign me up.
SPEAKER_04Like, like from my house to like Virginia Beach is 45 minutes. Yeah. And I would make that trip three times in a day. It is not a problem.
SPEAKER_03No, I I think I think it's just the idea of it being in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I can't. I think just having a drive to Pennsylvania is wild to me. Yeah. But like if it's anywhere else in Ohio, I'm like, yeah, it's 45 minutes. Sure. Right. Why not? Right, right. It's only an hour. Literally, when Dylan and I were there, when we were there for the week, I was like, we can just I was like, you want to just run to Southern Ohio and get Tim's? We have no other reason we didn't end up getting it because we didn't have time. But like it's only an hour.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I mean, think about it though. Like, my work was 45 minutes away every day. I know. Yeah. Like, anyways.
SPEAKER_03Anywho, crazy.
SPEAKER_04Next up is Yeah by Usher.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Should be number one.
SPEAKER_04Honestly, I agree with you. It should be number one. Crazy is I love that song. Uh number six, The Cupid Shuffle. Again, depends on the party. Depends on the party.
SPEAKER_03I think dance dance floor songs and party songs are two different things.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I think that if you're if you're at an actual event, yes, in any capacity, in any capacity, it could be a work event, you could be at like the mountaineer racetrack for an evening out with a uh loved one. Um but like if you're out at an event, the cupid shuffle should play.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes, number five is a sleeper.
SPEAKER_04This is a good one. Uh, I got a feeling. I get excited. Black eye.
SPEAKER_01It's a good one.
SPEAKER_04As soon as I heard the dun, dun, dun, dun um number four. Mr. Brightside honestly, should be a closer. You should be a closer between that and closing time. Those are your two closing songs.
SPEAKER_03Truly, I had this conversation with a girl who's shadowing right now because it came on and she started like singing it, and she goes, I don't know if I've ever actually heard the song. I said, It's because you're white. It literally brain in our DNA to bring it up.
SPEAKER_04Coming out on our cage up and doing just fine.
SPEAKER_03Just fine. Gotta gotta get out because I want it up.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it was only a kiss. It was only a kiss.
SPEAKER_03How did I know?
SPEAKER_04Um coming in at number three, we have Don't Stop Believin, which I'm getting kind of tired of Don't Stop Believing. Like, I love Journey, yeah, but I would rather hear a different journey song.
SPEAKER_03I would rather hear Freebird.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah. I wouldn't rather hear Freebird. I don't hear Freebird very often.
SPEAKER_03No, I want something from the Eagles. Oh, well, he also played a lot of the Eagles today. I would like some Eagles. I would like some Aerosmith. Like, give me walk this way. That's a party start.
SPEAKER_04Unpopular opinion. I'm not a big Aerosmith guy. What? Yeah, like I I like the hits, but like I barely like them. Like if Dream One comes on on my phone, I'm skipping that shit. Like, I I don't need I don't need to lose that.
SPEAKER_03That's one of my favorite songs. I love that song.
SPEAKER_04Dream Ow!
unknownDream Ow.
SPEAKER_04Um, coming in at number two, we have Uptown Funk You Up.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Uptown Funk You Up.
SPEAKER_04Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. Bruno Mars.
SPEAKER_03Anything with Bruno Mars.
SPEAKER_04Give me Bruno Mars every part.
SPEAKER_03All day long. All of Bruno Mars's songs.
SPEAKER_04Any of all of us. Even his slow songs, like that's a part of the curl out, and and we're gonna do some slow dance.
SPEAKER_03We'll we'll slow dance just from Bruno. I honestly, I was gonna say unpopular, very popular opinion. I think everything's a hit.
SPEAKER_04I haven't seen him not put out gold.
SPEAKER_03I don't uh never mind. I'm not gonna say it. I can't put it on the internet. Okay, my opinion myself.
SPEAKER_04Versace on the floor. I like that song too.
SPEAKER_03God, that whole album, dude. That whole album. I'm gonna get it.
SPEAKER_0444 carat magic?
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, yeah. Start to finish.
SPEAKER_03Start to finish.
SPEAKER_04Just hit after hit.
SPEAKER_03Incredible. Side to side, side A side B.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Incredible.
SPEAKER_04Um coming in at number one, Taylor. We have September by Earth Wind Fire.
SPEAKER_03They also play that at the wedding. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Here's here's the reason why. It works across generations: weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, school dances. Almost every crowd recognizes it, and the groove gets people moving without being tied to one specific era.
SPEAKER_03That's fair. I can play that song on trumpet.
SPEAKER_04Um, so that that is your your list, everybody.
SPEAKER_03That's that was that was a good list. I liked that list.
