The Wild Finals Of Our Best Artist Bracket

A song can be perfectly tuned, perfectly written, and still feel… fake. So where do we draw the line when AI music, pitch correction, and “industry normal” tools all start to blur together?
We kick things off with the kind of chaos you expect from us: weekend updates, an Outback steak breakdown, Chris’s tank fixation (yes, there’s a tank made of bullets), and a Walmart pickup rant that turns into a full ethics lesson on basic decency. Then we pivot hard into parenting stories and the surprisingly effective power of making up a monster truck bedtime moral on the spot.
From there, we get into the real meat: artificial intelligence in music. We talk about the backlash around AI-generated songs, why labeling matters, and how fans are supposed to know what’s human-made versus machine-assisted. We dig into autotune and pitch correction, ghostwriters, and the uncomfortable truth that music production has been “enhanced” for a long time. The question isn’t just “is AI bad,” it’s what transparency, credit, and authenticity should look like in a modern music industry built on tools.
Finally, we close out our bracket series with the championship rounds, arguing through legendary catalogs, cultural impact, and pure replay value until we crown a winner. It gets heated, it gets honest, and it definitely gets controversial.

Cold Open And Bracket Hype
SPEAKER_05Please no.
SPEAKER_00Ladies and gentlemen, after weeks of competition, controversy, questionable voting, and Chris saying enough wildly inappropriate shit that I could probably release an entire bonus episode just of the things that I had to cut. We have reached the championship. This is it. One winner, one final argument. Let's talk about it. I fucking love that. I'm the worst person to have a podcast. I can barely.
Weekend Updates And Outback Steak
SPEAKER_00What's up, everyone? Welcome back to the show. I am your host, Harley, joined by my co-hosts and little sisters, Taylor and Chris. Like we were just saying, we do have the final episode of the bracket today. You've been waiting for it. Episode four of the bracket today. But first, as always, Taylor, what's going on in your neck of the woods?
SPEAKER_05Oh, I went to Outback on Friday. So that was exciting. I didn't do much yesterday, and I performed surgery today.
SPEAKER_00Alright, hold on. We have to we have to break all of that down. So you went to Outback. You didn't get a steak. There's no way you got a steak.
SPEAKER_05I did.
SPEAKER_00You got a steak?
SPEAKER_05I did. I got a steak. And a baked potato with bacon and cheese. And a side salad. And I got a koala punch drink, which came with a tiny little koala duck on it.
SPEAKER_00I like that. That's pretty cool. It was pretty fun. The the potato? You didn't get sour cream on the potato?
SPEAKER_05I don't like sour cream.
SPEAKER_00You're crazy. You're crazy.
SPEAKER_05I don't like it.
SPEAKER_00Can't don't like you performed surgery?
SPEAKER_05I did. You know Muffin?
SPEAKER_00Like the dog? From Bluey?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Wait, okay. Who lives on Drury Lane? Yes.
SPEAKER_05Did you know the Muffin Man? No, my my dog Muffin, my orange dog that I've been sleeping with since I was like six.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. I I I vaguely remember. Okay, sure. So what did you do? You sewed it? What'd you butterfly stitch that thing?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. The backstory is he had a tumor. Backstory, get it? Um he had a tumor. So I had to sew it back up.
SPEAKER_00I see. I see. Did you remove the tumor?
SPEAKER_05I did. I just opened him up and then I left it to make sure it was there.
SPEAKER_00He had a tumor, so I just got in there, went, checked on it, made sure. Checked on it.
SPEAKER_05It's like when the check engine lights on in the car, and then you open the hood to make sure the engine's still there, then you shut it.
SPEAKER_00You're like, yeah, no, it's good.
SPEAKER_05Anyways, that was my weekend.
SPEAKER_00Said check engine. I checked the engine. It's still there. It's still there.
Bullet Tank Talk And Nerd Tests
SPEAKER_00Chris, what's going on in your neck of the woods, brother?
SPEAKER_02Nothing new.
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_02Nothing new.
SPEAKER_05I I wish. I wish I did something exciting. I really do.
SPEAKER_00It's it's crazy that the guy says nothing new, yet I see a new Lego Pikachu behind you. I I see what seems to be a tank made out of possibly batteries. I'm not entirely sure. No, none of this stuff is new.
SPEAKER_05That's made out of bullets.
SPEAKER_00It's a bullet tank.
SPEAKER_05Honestly, that's poetic.
SPEAKER_02That's been up there for a while. It's just normally below my shoulder.
SPEAKER_00Recently, I found out that Chris loves tanks. Like on an autistic level.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I was gonna say, Chris, I do have a test for you to take then.
SPEAKER_00I have two books on tanks.
SPEAKER_02It's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_00You're not denying those allegations.
SPEAKER_02Yikes. We need to do a poll. We need to do a poll. Like, if you could own a tank, would you own a tank?
SPEAKER_05Well, the obvious answer is yes. Do I get to shoot people with my tank?
SPEAKER_00No. No, shooting people is wrong, Taylor. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05So then why do I have the tank? This isn't like this isn't Animal Crossing. I can't just get random things and put them places.
SPEAKER_02Why do people have jacked up trucks? They're overcompensated.
SPEAKER_00I don't have those either. So, Chris, tell me about this tank behind you made of bullets. What kind of tank is it? Autistic, Chris.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. No kind of tank. Sherman, maybe? Not no, not really.
SPEAKER_05It's the worst kind of autism.
SPEAKER_02Let's break it down. Look, it it really doesn't have a chassis. You know what I mean? It's all track.
SPEAKER_00All track.
SPEAKER_02It's all track.
SPEAKER_05Wait, wait, wait, wait.
SPEAKER_00All track, no bass.
SPEAKER_05Hang on, hold it still so I can count how many bullets are there.
SPEAKER_00Who made said tank? China. China. So tell me tell me a fun fact that you know about tanks, Chris.
SPEAKER_02I I like them.
SPEAKER_00What is a Sherman? I don't know what a Sherman is.
SPEAKER_02A Sherman tank? Okay, so it's the tank that America like mass produced in World War II.
SPEAKER_00And what tank did everybody else use?
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, the only other tank we're talking about is a you know, either a tiger or a panzer. And those were that German painters guys, they're his tanks.
SPEAKER_00Are Panzers good tanks?
SPEAKER_02I would say yeah.
SPEAKER_05I mean, they took on most.
SPEAKER_00I don't own one though, so you know. I'm asking, you're my tank guy. I'm I'm I don't know anything about tanks.
SPEAKER_02I didn't brush up on tank research. Everybody knows though that the Germans did have the coolest stuff.
SPEAKER_05That checks out. And they were just trying to give it to everybody else, and then we shut them down real quick. They had whoa charity. How's it gone, guys? Yeah, that was funny. That was funny. You guys know it.
SPEAKER_00I I was gonna I was gonna say something, but it seems like nothing now. Man, you you really took that plane right into the tower. Yeah, buddy. Here's a second one. Um come on.
SPEAKER_05I I go ahead, Taylor.
SPEAKER_00Say something to get us canceled.
SPEAKER_05Oh, I know. Okay, so this might be a complaint. Wait, are we done talking about Chris's tanks? I don't want to take the the Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's move on. Yes. Chris's tank. Okay, perfect.
Walmart Pickup Spots Rant
SPEAKER_05So I went to go pick up groceries today. I went to Walmart to pick up groceries. I placed an order, pickup order. Okay, get there. All the spots for the most part for the pickup place are full. And I was like, oh, it's gonna be a minute, but that's okay. Like we'll we'll park, put our number in. Then I'm looking around, I'm like, wow, no one's in these cars to get their pickup order.
SPEAKER_02Yep, because they're dickheads.
SPEAKER_05Thank you, Chris. I was so mad. I was gonna call the cops on every single one of them because they're coming out with their buggies and they're putting their stuff in the car and then they're leaving. And I'm like, you know what? This is here for people who need to pick up their groceries. There's a whole parking lot. You go park somewhere else. You don't you don't get a pickup spot. Also, I could understand if most of the Walmart parking lot were pickup spots. That was not the case.
SPEAKER_02No, there's like what eight, maybe. Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_05So so there's eight on one side, so it's eight and then eight on the other, like so one little section, it's like 16 spots. You have a whole parking lot. That was so bad.
SPEAKER_02At our Walmart, they actually so ours has like the tire center, and it's around the side where nobody goes unless you're getting tire sets done. That's where they moved our pickup order area to Mars. And there's always spots, always spots.
SPEAKER_05And normally I feel like that's how it is. Like it's always in a corner somewhere where like people aren't really going. And as we were driving, I told Dylan I was like, they should move it over like in this random side parking lot they have, and they should do that as the pickup spot because the the spots were like kind of in the middle of a parking lot, but still have decency.
SPEAKER_02Kind of like where the handicap spots are.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it was like two handicap spots and then pickup spots.
SPEAKER_00Just to play devil's advocate, because I completely agree with both of you, but technically they were picking up their groceries. Technically.
SPEAKER_02Taylor, this is what you do from now on. You buy a tank. Well, yeah, they would move or they'd be under your tank. See, it's a yes, no-brainer. So, what you do is get you like a nice pair, like Klein tools. You know, they're not a sponsor of the show, but they're the fucking best. So get you get you a nice, a nice pair of Klein flyers. And then when next time that happens, you just get out and you pull the stems on their tires.
SPEAKER_03There you go.
SPEAKER_02Not only they they they didn't want to take a few extra steps. Now they gotta get a tow truck.
SPEAKER_01That's right.
SPEAKER_00Nothing like saying a product is the best and then using it to make time for straight violence. Well, network is the best fucking tool to get rid of your enemies.
SPEAKER_05Oh, and I saw a police officer run red light. What world are we living in right now?
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, you live in a different world, you live in Florida.
SPEAKER_05Truly, I was like, you know what, up in Ohio, those spots are reserved, and people people respect that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you don't live on Earth, you live in Florida. There are only two places. No, there are three places in this country that are different on on a level of different that people will never understand. There are three places. You ready? Florida, Texas, California.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Yes.
SPEAKER_00If you go to any of those, you are not getting the United States atmosphere. Those are three, those are separate countries here.
SPEAKER_05You know what that episode of Family Guy when they find out that Peter's house actually isn't part of the United States and he's his own college. Yes, Victoria. That's how I feel like Florida is a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Isn't that the episode that he bought the tank?
SPEAKER_05Yes, yes, I think so. And then he goes to war. And he had a moat? Didn't he have a moat? Yeah, he had a moat. He did have a moat, he had a moat in two episodes. He also had a moat when he he was getting a lot of money from the from welfare fraud. From welfare fraud, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I took Adam to the aquarium today. Well, uh that is so funny. Me and Lindsay, Lindsay and
Aquarium Trip And Toddler Storytime
SPEAKER_00I. We took Adam to the aquarium today. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05That is, are there pictures?
SPEAKER_00I'm sure Lindsay took pictures.
SPEAKER_03Did he have so much fun?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we we hung out, we saw sharks and uh fish and and a crocodile, and then we hung out at the uh the little area where you can pet the the rays, and he stuck his.
SPEAKER_05I think I also went to an aquarium today. We call it we call it the river here, but same difference.
SPEAKER_02You can shoot a manatee, it's the same thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's just the only difference is is when she goes to pet the rays, it's a bunch of guys named Ray.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and they like head scratches.
SPEAKER_00She just it's the same process, you have to leave your hand in the water and keep it still. They'll come to you, they'll come to you.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, they'll they'll come to you.
SPEAKER_00That's funny. That's really funny, anyways.
SPEAKER_05That's so much fun, though.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Anywho, it was it was a good time. We had a good time. Other than that, I think that's pretty much my weekend. I didn't do much.
SPEAKER_05Is your baby still obsessed with the big bad wolf?
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, he is.
SPEAKER_05Oh, Chris, it's the cutest thing. He walks around and he puts on his big boy voice and he goes, Ow, huff and ow, puff, and ow, whoa, you're a house deck.
SPEAKER_00That's cute.
SPEAKER_05Really cute.
SPEAKER_00And then he goes, Yeah, he goes, he also is just obsessed with like hearing stories. So, like for him, he he looked at me and he goes, Where was Lindsay? Lindsay was at some some function for sorority thing that she was doing, and I'm standing there with him and I'm pushing him around the island in his little truck, and he looks at me and he goes, Dad, tell me the story of the monster truck. And I was like, What story of the monster truck? That's when you make it up. He really he really wanted to hear it, so I just made one up and I turned it into this like really fun moral story about getting a bath, and this shit worked, dude. I I made up a complete bullshit story about monster trucks, as Cornells do about a baby monster truck who loved getting dirty, and a mommy monster truck that insisted he needed to get a bath, and then by the end of the story, the baby monster truck realizes that he loves being clean more than he loves being dirty. And then that night he got a bath with no problem.
SPEAKER_05He didn't want to waste a baby.
SPEAKER_00I looked at him and I said, Are you gonna be a big brave boy like the monster truck in the story who gets a bath? And then he was like, Dad, tell me the story of the monster truck that gets a bath. And then I told it to him, and then he went upstairs and got a bath. And I thought, holy shit, I think he's the greatest parent in the world. And then today he took a monster truck out of my hands, told me no, and threw it across the room and screeched like a pterodactyl in my face. Yes, so things are going there.
SPEAKER_05Is that and you learned how to negotiate with a toddler recently?
SPEAKER_00So, anyways, uh, we are the Hook and Bridge Podcast, guys. We are a music show, and today we
AI Music Crime Story Shock
SPEAKER_00have some really in-depth music conversations to go over. However, before we jump into that, as we know, there is still a ton of AI music stuff going on. Yeah, I think so. Okay, wait, what do you know?
SPEAKER_05I can't tell you what I know.
SPEAKER_00Oh, can you send it send it in the chat so I can find out if we can I can't, I can't.
SPEAKER_05I shouldn't have said anything. Continue.
SPEAKER_00No, now you have to.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05No, I'm just kidding. I don't know anything.
SPEAKER_02She better tell us where I'm at her house swatted again.
SPEAKER_05No, I I meant I meant the backlash.
SPEAKER_00Oh no. I have I have this fun, well, fun, horrible story that I want to go over that happened recently. There was an American idol contestant that brutally murdered his wife over an affair that he was having.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, because he couldn't just labor.
SPEAKER_00But the the way this relates to the AI conversation is that no, worse, worse, he was having AI music made for his mistress. This this man is an American idol contestant that was on TV for singing abilities, he's a musician. And he had he had Chat GPT write a song for his mistress, and then use the same probably the same program that Chris uses to make everyone uses a song for his mistress, and he didn't even sing it.
SPEAKER_05You know what? It could be worse. He could have written something from his heart.
SPEAKER_02It would have been shitty.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That is that I didn't think about it in that way, though, Taylor. Does that make it better?
SPEAKER_05I think so.
SPEAKER_00Because like it shows that he just didn't care about her at all.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but like he still killed his wife.
SPEAKER_00He's a terrible person.
SPEAKER_05He's terrible. I know the felon.
SPEAKER_02So I know we have to get into the bracket, but hear me out. So the you know, obviously it's it's a much easier argument
Autotune Ghostwriters And AI Labels
SPEAKER_02when it comes to listening to music that is completely AI. You know what I mean? Kind of doing it like how I do it when I send everybody dumbass funny songs. You know, I always have ChatGPT do the lyrics, I run it through the program to add the music and the you know, to actually sing it. But what if you so who's how the hell are we as fans supposed to know if artists are doing that? Now, but actually performing it, learning to sing the song, you know. I could generate 10 songs in 15 minutes and go, well, I like this version better, and then trying to download that on a chat GPT and it give me everything I need from notes to you know.
SPEAKER_00This is a good conversation, and I love that you are an outside perspective on this because it helps kind of make a little bit of the argument that I've been trying to make. Let me start the conversation off this way. How do you feel about artists using auto-tune?
SPEAKER_02Which we talked, yeah, we which we talked about, right?
SPEAKER_00Right, but I'm talking not T-Pain level, not where it's like obvious.
SPEAKER_05Oh, see, I like the obvious slight difference.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_05We all like the obvious, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
SPEAKER_00Right? So my question is how do you feel how would you feel if you found out that an album that you idolized and loved more than anything, the artist used pitch correction so that it came out to the quality that that artist wanted it to be? Torn pitch pitch correction being the program that they use to correct their vocals in the recording process. Yes, Taylor.
SPEAKER_05So I would I feel the same way as like when I find out my favorite artists and the songs I love were written by like ghost other bolts. Yeah, and I'm like, oh, that sucks, but also still a bop. I'm like, well, let's say I go to see them in concert and they suck, right? So they're using might be like, oh, that was awful. Why I'm sad I wasted my money, but I'm still gonna listen to it on Spotify because it's pretty fire on Spotify, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So where so where is the AI argument then? Because both of those things are AI before AI, right? You're falsifying your vocals, it's not using you know, you're using an artificial intelligence program to identify your vocals and correct them because you're singing out of key, right? It's artificial intelligence, no one can argue that. Okay, it's a computer program that is able to identify where you're off and fix it. Then you have the ghostwriters, which for a very long part of history, artists would have ghostwriters, and those ghostwriters didn't get credit on those songs. And these people would be like, This is my song, yes, or they would they would market it as their song, and then when asked about it, they would go, Oh, well, I actually don't know because I didn't write the song.
SPEAKER_05Like I legally, I think that they should have to say.
SPEAKER_00Well, I I think I think they might have to now, but I'm not positive on that. But what what I'm saying is, how is that any different than what they're currently arguing against?
SPEAKER_02No, no, no. I think the ghostwriter thing is totally different than using chat GPT or other AI, you know, why because it can do it better? No, because you're a ghostwriter is a human being, you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you're also not giving that artist credit.
SPEAKER_02No, I think credit should be given, yes, but yeah, you can't expect an artist to be good at everything, you know what I mean? Like maybe they got a hell of a voice, but not much going on upstairs. You know what I mean? They can't they can't string a line together.
SPEAKER_00The ghostwriter thing is more of just the cherry on the top for me, anyways. My whole thing is the the pitch correction because that's 99% of the industry.
SPEAKER_02No, that's skill, you know what I mean? Like you don't have it, so now you're you know, you're using a tool, right?
SPEAKER_00Right, but it's also like some people have incredible voices, and they went to the studio and they just didn't have It that day, or they want it to be a perfect product, you know what I mean, in the production side, so they adjust it. But like that is 90. This is a fact. This is a fact. Anyone that's listening to this right now, just so you know, this is a 100% fact. I have talked to enough people to know that this is exactly what happens.
SPEAKER_05Did you Google AI it though? No, it's not a fact once you Google AI it.
SPEAKER_02I'm going to right now.
SPEAKER_00Everyone that I have ever spoke to uses pitch correction. Everyone with 100% certainty that I have ever spoke to that is a musician that has walked into a studio and has ever sang a note uses pitch correction, myself included.
SPEAKER_05Do you guys know the thousand pound sisters?
SPEAKER_00Isn't that those girls that are like super super big?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_05Amy and Amy and something else. So Amy came out with a song and it goes, no palm trees, just a tower in pants. No ocean waves, just a fish in line. Do you know what I'm talking about? Have you guys seen this anywhere?
SPEAKER_02First of all. I kind of like it. Of course, we do. Just from that right there, God.
SPEAKER_05Hang on. Wait, hang on. I'm gonna find it. I think that I'm able to play it because AI did write it. So that's what I'm getting with those.
SPEAKER_00Oh, wait, AI wrote it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I think so.
SPEAKER_02Okay, then there you go. The thing is, is the thing is, is us as consumers will never know that.
SPEAKER_05Are you ready? Are you ready?
SPEAKER_02I don't think you can play it. She still might own it.
SPEAKER_00Um you think so? Yeah, go for it. I don't care. Go for it.
SPEAKER_05Just a channel like just a tattoo.
SPEAKER_01Doesn't it sound like um the dude with the tattoos all over his place?
SPEAKER_02Yoshi. Jelly roll? It sounds like jelly roll, yeah.
SPEAKER_05No, it sounds like Bobby Hill. Let's see what it sounds like.
SPEAKER_03I don't know you. Hello you.
SPEAKER_05No, my my new local stim is palm tree. It's just a tower of odds. But yeah, no, I'm pretty sure AI did write that. But she's really proud of it, so I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Anyways, it I I don't know, man. I still don't see the difference whether it's a person or you're you're having a chat GPT or whatever write it for you. Regardless, you didn't write it at the end of the day. Like and you should have to say that and you should well, and you just shouldn't be selling a product that's not your product. Like I can't I can't say that I invented drain punch, but I think drain punch is a great product, and you know what I mean. Yeah, oh man.
SPEAKER_02I thought that was a congresswoman.
SPEAKER_00But as far as the the like I said, the real artificial intelligence that has been used in music for generations now, no one seems to have a problem with that.
SPEAKER_02I don't think there's intelligence there, I think it's just artificial.
SPEAKER_00Yes, it no it is intelligence, it is a degree of intelligence, it can identify and fix your vocals. I guess that is intelligence, but has that been being used for generations? Yes, they don't, yeah, don't how long has pitch correction been used in the music industry?
SPEAKER_05I'm really proud of you for using your phonics with that. That was a really good sounding out.
SPEAKER_02He's gotta be hooked on something.
SPEAKER_00Pitch correction has been used in the music industry for nearly 80 years.
SPEAKER_05How long has AI been around? I I I feel like I I feel like that's wrong. It is well now that's also saying like the programs that they have on to like detect would be AI.
SPEAKER_00Auto tune.
SPEAKER_05Because pitch correcting with AI, I think, is something completely different, right?
SPEAKER_00Sorry, sorry, say it one more time. One more time.
SPEAKER_05I feel like the pitch correcting that like you're talking about is like someone in a studio making a note, being like, no, here we need to fix this with my fancy board.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but like you're s a human is identifying where it's flat back in the day, right? Yeah, so I so yeah, I get what you're saying. Like yes, like back in the day, it was a human identifying the issue and then using a computer to correct it.
SPEAKER_05Also known as hip human-identified pitch.
SPEAKER_00And then where it becomes an issue now is that humans no longer have to identify the elements. They have a program that they can put the song through, and they click a button that says auto pitch, and it identifies all the notes that are wrong and then corrects them. Yes, and it generates your voice. That's the other part of this, too, that makes it AI is it generates your voice, it generates your vocals so that it can identify and correct, right? Yes, like it has to make your voice make a new sound. Yes, yes, so yeah, that that's my take is like anyone that's complaining about AI use, then they need to stop using AI in their production as well. And that's the first start, that's that's the first step. And I would love to see these artists give up their pitch correction and see what happens to the industry.
SPEAKER_05Also, I'm gonna say something. I think it's okay, no matter what, what unless you're a basketball player, we'll touch on that in a minute. Unless you're a basketball player, I think it's okay in your profession to mess up. If you're a little pitchy, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00It used to be embraced in the 90s and the 80s and the 70s, it used to be embraced. We actually idolized artists who had bad vocals. If you think about it, there were look at Nirvana. Kirk O'Bain was not a good singer.
SPEAKER_05Look at Taylor Swift. Calm down.
SPEAKER_00Oh, chill, bro.
SPEAKER_05We we we can we can dog on her, but she does have a good voice. No, I'm just no no no.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's just trying to he's just trying to pull our chain.
SPEAKER_05If you are a professional basketball player and you are missing free throws, you are getting a gajillion dollars a year. Don't miss the free throws when you so are musicians, though. Don't do that, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So are musicians, but I'll let them slide.
SPEAKER_05I just I'm on a basketball right now. Nah, ain't nobody coming near them. Ain't nobody coming near them. They just have to they just have to make it in the net.
SPEAKER_00No one gets a free slide. If you are gonna put out a product, then make the product stop using programs to make it for you.
SPEAKER_03Yes, that goes for guitar.
SPEAKER_00It's not just pitch correction, there are AI plugins in the music industry all across the board. There are things that make beats. There, there are programs that make beats that utilize intelligence. Beats by I'm just saying that like if we really want to start having this argument as as a nation uh and as artists, if you really want to dive in and have this argument, I already said I'm for it, man. I took away the AI. Everybody complained, I took it away. But if you want to really have this argument, then you guys start doing it too, you know? Like, start off, and like I said, pitch correction should be the first one. I would love to see what happens to this industry when people can no longer correct their vocals because it's not real art. You're muted, buddy.
SPEAKER_02Sorry, the dog was making some noise. I think it's great. I think that'll take us back to a time where the market's not flooded with with music. So there's songs I'm just coming across now that have been out for fucking 11 years, and I'm like, how have I never heard this?
SPEAKER_00Never heard, never heard, never heard, but also I'm I'm the I'm the same guy that if you want to go the complete opposite direction, I'm still in. I I've told you, Chris, personally, that like to me as a consumer, what I deem as art is up to me. So if I like AI music, then I should be allowed to like it. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_05I think it just has to be like you have to say that it's AR.
SPEAKER_00Exactly, and that's what I told Chris. That's that's what our art are not our argument, but our discussion has been is that I think it should be its own genre. You should have to label AI music as an AI genre, it's the AI genre of music.
SPEAKER_02And well, and then also branches out from music, you know what I mean? Like that's that should be well, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But I'm yeah, but I'm just talking about music though. Like, as far as the songs go that everyone's up in an uproar about, in my opinion, put them in their own genre, and if the artists lose to AI, like I don't know, man.
SPEAKER_05Do see, I don't I don't like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but but but what I'm saying though, Taylor, what I'm saying is it's up to us as people what we decide to like, right?
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_00So if you're an artist, if you're a musician and you want to have your audience and you want to target your audience, and they like this AI song, right? Yeah, then you make a song like that.
SPEAKER_05But I think that is going to kill music. But I but I feel the same way.
SPEAKER_00As creative as they think they are.
SPEAKER_05No, it's taking away the heart and soul out of music. You're you're putting something into a computer and then you're having it generate things. Right. I feel the same way about AI art. I well, we all know I am against AI.
SPEAKER_00But what I'm saying though, but what I'm saying though is this doesn't take any of that away. These artists can still make their art. It's not it's not taking anything away from them.
SPEAKER_05Here, hang on.
SPEAKER_00Let me people like what the people like. And if you want to if you want them to like your stuff, then start making stuff that they like.
SPEAKER_05But I I do think that it should be a good thing.
SPEAKER_00No one is stopping you from making your art.
SPEAKER_05It should be it should be in its own category, and it can only be AI songs against AI songs.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_05That that let me that's where I draw this way. No, let me put it this way.
SPEAKER_02That only matters when it comes to lists, you know what I mean? Like awards. Yes, does do those awards actually bring huge amounts of money? No, it's about the consumers, you know what I mean? It's about who's buying the songs, how many, how many listens they're getting to, so companies are willing to pay for it.
SPEAKER_00When we boil this argument down to its actual argument and stop with the fluff, it is about money. Yeah, people are worried about losing money to a robot. That's all this is, and to what to that argument, what I say is if you're worried about losing your pennies to a robot, then make better stuff, get more creative, get in the studio, put in the time, and stop playing to our ears based off of the algorithm. When's the last time somebody made something that was truly monumental and outstanding? How many artists go into the studio and say, I know what works for my audience. Here's 13 more songs that are just like the other 13 I just made.
SPEAKER_05Yes, I I know who did that.
SPEAKER_00Ryan Woods. But do you get do you get what I'm saying, though? If that is your concern, get in the studio and actually put in the work.
SPEAKER_05Because you you are asking it, you are asking people to go up against artificial intelligence. And like that's not fair. That's like let me let me put it to you this way: we have men and women's sports for a reason, they are in their own category, they do not go against each other. Um if you have AI music and then you have actual artists who are writing their song, it is not fair to put them against each other. That's the way that I view it. Those should be two separate things.
SPEAKER_00No, when you say putting them against each other, what do you mean? Like in uh in the award shows?
SPEAKER_05Yes, in the awards, it should be like best AI song, right? Like, yeah, however, it cannot be best AI and country music. So, like if you're in the country music part of it, no, no, no, Taylor.
SPEAKER_00AI song shouldn't be Taylor, Taylor, Taylor. Uh you you missed what I said originally. AI should be its own genre. Yes, an AI song cannot also be a country song, it's just another go up against other songs. But what I'm also saying is at that same award show, there is a generic tab called Song of the Year. AI songs have to be able to.
SPEAKER_05No, that's I thought I thought you meant like it was going to be in all genres, like even if it was like uh its own thing, it's its own genre.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but as far as, like I said, as far as artists being upset about it, in my opinion, if you're upset about it, then do better, be more creative, and get out there and put in the work. I also said I'm fine with the opposite. Look, I I did exactly what everyone was saying that I needed to do, I got rid of AI. I did. You know what I'm saying? I I I did what they wanted me to do, so now I get to have my my soapbox in my stance. Either if you want to get rid of AI, then all artists starting tomorrow need to stop using AI to create music, including pitch correction and certain artificial plugins that replicate there. Here's here's my issue, Taylor. Is there is a program, a computer program, that can if you let's say that you're a guitar player, right? But you can't afford a Mesa Boogie amp, which is like the top-of-the-line amp that everybody uses, right? You can't afford that. You can buy a computer program and plug your guitar into your computer that makes a Mesa Boogie amp. It generates it on your computer and has the exact same sound and all of the effects and everything, and you can record an album in your computer as if you have equipment that you can't afford. That is artificial.
SPEAKER_02So if you are upset about this, that is the same as us creating the thumbnails using something because we can't afford to hire an artist.
SPEAKER_00If you got a problem with it, then guess what, buddy? You can't use this program anymore. That's all I'm saying. I or we all embrace it and just say, okay, this is now part of life, and it needs to be its own genre, and we all need to work harder to keep our audiences because we're no longer going up against each other, we're also going up against a robot. Simple as that. There are people that don't like AI music. I don't like AI music, so I wouldn't listen to it. So I'm still a fan of real music. So there is a group out there.
SPEAKER_05It's it's just a slippery slope.
SPEAKER_00It doesn't have to be if it's properly labeled.
SPEAKER_05You're preaching to the choir, big dog.
SPEAKER_00I'm just I'm just saying that it doesn't have to be if it's properly labeled. If you've got a problem with AI and you listen to something and you're like, oh shit, that was good, and you look at it and it says that it's AI, you get to be upset. You got fooled, and you go back to listening to Guns N' Roses or whatever the hell you listen to. Like it is what it is, man. But as long as it's properly labeled, then it the issue is on you at that point. If you like AI music and you get fooled by it, you don't get to also go, This is terrible. I got fooled by AI music.
SPEAKER_05No, you just have to understand that you're gonna sometimes like things that are artificial, and you know, the one thing that this country is known for, it's labeling things properly for the consumers to feel safe to do things so that so that labels can be properly read.
SPEAKER_00Again, sorry to bring up the t-pain thing, but like T-Pain is very open about his use of pitch correction, it's very over the top on purpose.
SPEAKER_05And it's all yes, but it's noticeable. You listen to a T-Pain song, you're like, No, that's why you love it, you know.
SPEAKER_00I I know, but he's using an artificial tool to achieve that, correct? Yes, he's using a soundboard with built-in programs to adjust and change and modify his voice.
SPEAKER_05Yes, but I I still think, like, yes, it's an artificial thing, but you can say the same thing about the pedals you have for your guitar that you use.
SPEAKER_00I trust me, dude. I agree, yes.
SPEAKER_05But I think you're confusing that with AI, like those are two separate things.
SPEAKER_00No, but the the pitch correction thing in particular, I say is AI because it has an intelligence about it. It can I it identifies your voice and changes your voice. That requires intelligence.
SPEAKER_05So is T-Pain using that or is he using auto-tune where he's he's up there going auto thing and saying no, I love that.
SPEAKER_00Auto-tune is also there again. We're just we're getting into the weeds on it, but my point is that if if that's how we're gonna be, then all these artists have to stop using these tools. And I agree with you. You could make the argument that my pedals make an artificial sound in my guitar that I replicate that other artists use. Does that make me a bad person?
SPEAKER_02I mean, well, you are a piece of shit, period, but yes.
SPEAKER_05That just adds to it.
SPEAKER_00Sorry to sorry to have another in-depth AI conversation here.
SPEAKER_05Guys, you hurt Harley's feelings. Can you all just go apologize to all? Like, I came on for a bracket.
SPEAKER_00I just I hate hypocrisy, dude. It's like my one
Corporate Chaos Starbucks Powder And Arby's
SPEAKER_00thing. It's it's literally my one thing is hypocrisy. And like I said, I bent my knee. I did exactly what my audience asked me to do. So it's the same.
SPEAKER_02I just wonder if people are emailing McDonald's and Walmart and Star for you know what, you know, and they they are boycotting them because their commercial happens to have, you know, they utilize it.
SPEAKER_00They're not boycotting them, but they're sending emails. But the difference is is these giant corporations don't read their emails.
SPEAKER_05Fun fact you know that Starbucks has a new powder that is causing people to go into respiratory failure, the baristas, when they're making drinks with it. And when this was when this was brought up, they're like, Well, wear face covering, try not to breathe when you're mixing the drink.
SPEAKER_02That's crazy, isn't that crazy? Or just fall out on the job site and get paid.
SPEAKER_05Like it's insane, and then all the baristas were coming forward about it and like like showing people, and they're like, crazy that you guys are also then putting this in your body, like we can't inhale it as a powder, but you're drinking it.
SPEAKER_00I hear you, I do hear you. But when I worked at McDonald's, we had this grill cleaner that we had to use every night, and it was the same thing, it was the same thing. When when I when I was doing it and started like having breathing problems, I was told, Well, you need to ventilate the area, so open up the back door and open up the front door while you're cleaning.
SPEAKER_05Crazy, dude. Crazy. And then we're eating off that grill. I will say, my argument to that though is when you then heat the grill up, it kind of like dissipates. Do you know what I mean? Like the grill isn't hot enough.
SPEAKER_00No, you do it while the grill is on, you clean it while it's on, so it's immediately burning off so that they can use it the next morning. Yeah, so there were two chemicals. I I would put one chemical on that was like the cleaner or whatever, and then the second chemical was the same kind of stuff that I would use on my blackstone to like reseal it. Yeah, and it came on this brush thing, and you had to brush it on and brush it off. Yeah, the the power smoke that it would throw into your face and the smell, dude. It was wild.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, they they were blending up Frappuccinos with this powder, and they're like, Cough, cough, can't really breathe. And then people were drinking these Frappuccinos. Here's one for you.
SPEAKER_00Did you know that the Arby's roast beef comes as liquid?
SPEAKER_05So I don't need Arby's, so I don't need liquid, it comes in a bag.
SPEAKER_00It comes in a bag, yeah, yeah, yeah. Look it up right now. Look it up right now.
SPEAKER_05Make sure you look it up on Google AI.
SPEAKER_00It's liquid, and then they put it in something that like steams it and turns it into food.
SPEAKER_05I'm nauseous. Didn't I tell you I had a tummy ache when I came on here?
SPEAKER_00You did, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Gonna throw up on camera. You know, I haven't been back to Starbucks since I quit.
SPEAKER_00Really?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Dude, I I could go. I wanted to go to Tim Hortons and I forgot. Fuck.
SPEAKER_05I can go for Tim Hortons. They won't have a water burger.
SPEAKER_00I want coffee. You're making me want coffee. I'm gonna text coffee this morning. I'm gonna text and ask.
SPEAKER_05That is so funny, Chris.
SPEAKER_00Can I have a coffee?
SPEAKER_05I had an iced coffee today. You'll you'd have to pry that for my cold dead hands. I I have one happiness in this world, and it is an iced coffee.
SPEAKER_00I hear that, dude. I hear that.
SPEAKER_02Mine is a black tar heroin.
SPEAKER_05That's a cool second for me personally.
SPEAKER_00Are you guys ready to get into this bracket?
SPEAKER_02Yes. Uh, by the way, the Arby's thing is is a rumor.
SPEAKER_00It's a rumor. So everyone, everyone listening before we get to the video. I'll send you the video. There's an Arby's chef on YouTube who is corroborating that story. It was like I saw it yesterday.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I watched the video.
SPEAKER_02Arby's ingredients list identifies it as roast beef. Well, as roast the roast beef is beef, water, salt, and sodium phosphates. That's it. No, no hypomala jiggle.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. I don't think that that's the issue. I think it still comes in a liquid bag, is my thing.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no. There's there's liquid in it to keep it moist. And according to this, sometimes it it gets gelatinous. But what's the difference of that and lunch meat? You know what I mean? You ever get like lunch meat? Okay. Have you ever for anyone poor listening? You know, do you ever buy like the the Walmart brand, the food line brand lunch meat? And in the corner of the package is like little jelly.
SPEAKER_05That's I have Walmart lunch meat in the fridge.
SPEAKER_02Then it's got jelly in the bag.
SPEAKER_05I know, and it freaks me out, dude. It freaks me out. It is, yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's like icky.
SPEAKER_05I'm still gonna eat it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Alright, let's get into this bracket because I have dinner waiting for me.
SPEAKER_02Me too. Tomato soup and grilled cheese.
SPEAKER_05Delish! Way better than mine. We're having roasted chicken and potatoes.
SPEAKER_00You might want to go grab your dinner, Taylor, because this is gonna take a
Sweet 16 Bracket Round One
SPEAKER_00minute.
SPEAKER_05You have me until seven o'clock.
SPEAKER_00That's in that's in eight minutes.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00There's no way. There's no way. Yeah, well, to each their own, I guess. Here is the bracket. We have Queen, Michael Jackson, Harry Styles, Billy Eilish, Eminem, Kanye. Thank you. Pink Floyd, Garth Brooks, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Link 182, Lincoln Park, and Caesar. First up, Queen versus Michael Jackson.
SPEAKER_02Oh, fuck you. Oh, this is so hard.
SPEAKER_05I low-key feel indifferent about either. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's super easy for me. I knew this one would make Rish blow a glassket. Blow a gasket.
SPEAKER_05Hang on, let me.
SPEAKER_00I blew a glass maker once.
SPEAKER_05Was his name right?
SPEAKER_00Queen. Queen.
SPEAKER_05Definitely Queen.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's easier than you think because Michael Jackson sucks.
SPEAKER_03Slow down now.
SPEAKER_00The silence was crazy.
SPEAKER_02Hey Harley. Hey, can you make the bracket full screen?
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, my bad. There you go.
SPEAKER_02There we go. Beautiful. No, I just think Queen has got so many bangers. Yeah. Like Queen is I can play Queen anytime. Michael Jackson, I've got to be in the mood.
SPEAKER_00When's the last time you listened to a Michael Jackson song? Friday. Why?
SPEAKER_05I literally listened to it all week.
SPEAKER_00Michael Jackson?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. The man. Yeah. I've learned so many Michael Jackson songs.
SPEAKER_02But I also listened to Queen on Friday, so I didn't even listen to Queen in a minute.
SPEAKER_00Shamon. You know what I mean? Literally, Thriller and Man in the Mirror are the only good Michael Jackson. Smooth Criminal? Yeah, you know who did that song better?
SPEAKER_02When you say Alien Ant Farm, fuck you. I mean, their version is good. I own them both, but it's the better version of that song.
SPEAKER_05Smooth Criminal is a great song, and it might make me want to go Michael Jackson.
SPEAKER_02Over Queen, you're crazy. I'm just I'm looking at numbers here, like volume, you know.
SPEAKER_05I mean, Michael Jackson also died before them, so. Are we sure about that?
SPEAKER_00Nope.
SPEAKER_04No?
SPEAKER_00I was gonna say no, Freddie Mercury.
SPEAKER_05No, I guess I guess not. I did watch the movie.
SPEAKER_00Freddie Mercury had a very famous death.
SPEAKER_05I'm still going Queen. So did Michael Jackson.
SPEAKER_00Queen, yeah. Harry Styles versus Billy Eilish.
SPEAKER_05Harry Styles.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna go with Billy Eyelash because I've never heard a Harry Styles song.
SPEAKER_00I'm going Harry Styles also.
SPEAKER_05You should look into it. I think you'd love Harry Styles.
SPEAKER_00I also think you would love Harry Styles.
SPEAKER_05I actually I think it would really be up your alley.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Wait, does he do songs like Kanye? No, he does songs like Ryan Woods.
SPEAKER_05I was literally just about to say Ryan Woods. You would love Harry Styles.
SPEAKER_00You would love Harry Styles.
SPEAKER_05You would love that.
SPEAKER_00Watermelon sugar. Hi.
SPEAKER_05Hi.
SPEAKER_00Watermelon sugar. Hi.
SPEAKER_05Hi.
SPEAKER_02Not that one though. That sounds like ingredients.
SPEAKER_00What was the other big one that he had? As it was.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you would love that album. You know, you know, you know.
SPEAKER_00Anyways, Harry Styles move it on for sure.
SPEAKER_02I do know that Billy Eilish looks better in a skirt.
SPEAKER_05Yes. Yes, I'll give you.
SPEAKER_00Then Harry Styles, again, dude, your opinions are all over the place right now. That's crazy. Harry Styles looks great in a dress.
SPEAKER_02No, I thought he kind of looked like uh Jim Carrey. You know? Yes.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_00I think it's a good one. In an instant replay.
SPEAKER_02All right. Eminem versus Tiani. Okay, Taylor, you have to vote with me on this one.
SPEAKER_05I have to go Kanye.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_05I have to go Kanye.
SPEAKER_02Are you being for real?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh shit. Oh, I thought you were just joking. Yeah, no, Kanye.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, Kanye.
SPEAKER_00I am in a stage of life where I also have to go Kanye. No fear.
SPEAKER_05Can I can I tell you my reasoning though?
SPEAKER_00His politics?
SPEAKER_05No, I I want you, I want you to look at this list. And we already voted off Michael Jackson. I really want you guys to look at this list.
SPEAKER_00Ooh, Taylor plays the race car.
SPEAKER_05That's why I had to really weigh my options because I was like, we're already in hot water about this whole AI thing.
SPEAKER_01Anyways.
SPEAKER_00Honestly, though, I I just I lean it back to the the song.
SPEAKER_05Lean with a rock with it.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no. Stronger, dude. That that that don't kill me can only make me stronger.
SPEAKER_05Stronger. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I hear graduation is a great album.
SPEAKER_00Eminem could never pull out a line that says you could be my black Kate Moss tonight. That's all I'm saying.
SPEAKER_05Gold Digger? Perfection.
SPEAKER_00Dude, dude, I agree with you. I do.
SPEAKER_05Then he'd leave you for a white girl.
SPEAKER_0018 years. 18 years.
SPEAKER_0518 years. On his 18th birthday, he found out that was a big one.
SPEAKER_00Oh man, I love Kanye. Kanye's so good, dude. Calm down now. He is, though. Clip that. He is. Hey, camera one, in on me. Kanye is an incredibly perfect artist.
SPEAKER_05Guys, before I get my Kanye tattoo, has he done anything problematic?
SPEAKER_02Let me know now. I'll send you, I'll send you at least one song right now.
SPEAKER_00All right, onto the other side. Pink Floyd versus Garth Brooks. Pink Floyd. Shut up.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, all day long.
SPEAKER_00I've been on Pink Floyd King. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_05You know what's so funny? Is is we brought up Garth Brooks, and then I downloaded
Pink Floyd Versus Garth Brooks Debate
SPEAKER_05Friends in Low Places, and every time I go to listen to it, I skip it.
SPEAKER_00So that's crazy. Listen, so on Pink Floyd. Where did you download it? Spotify? It's not on Spotify. It's not on any streaming service. You downloaded somebody else's version.
SPEAKER_02Are you sure Garth Brooks isn't on iTunes?
SPEAKER_00Famously one of the only artists that is not on any streaming. I know that when his was it 30th year or 50th year, whatever.
SPEAKER_05You're right.
SPEAKER_00Thank you.
SPEAKER_05Let me re let me rephrase. It was a Garth Brooks tribute.
SPEAKER_00Thank you. Garth Brooks is famously like the only guy that's still like, no, fuck you. I'm not doing it. Well, I don't know why he thinks he's better than everyone else, but I'm definitely going to his catalog is not on any streaming at all. Zero zero. I'm going Pink Floyd.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I'm going Pink Floyd then.
SPEAKER_00What? Yeah, that sealed the deal for me. No, no, no, no, no, guys. You can't do this to me.
SPEAKER_02Yes, I can't.
SPEAKER_00You can't do this to me.
SPEAKER_02Did you already guess that Garth Brooks was gonna win in the next slide or something?
SPEAKER_00No. Imagine Brooks is gonna win. Garth Brooks is definitely gonna win.
SPEAKER_05Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd all the way.
SPEAKER_00Friends in low places, guys.
SPEAKER_05Can't listen to it by him.
SPEAKER_00So we met Beach.
SPEAKER_05So yeah.
SPEAKER_02There you go. Chris, you don't even know Pink Floyd songs. You're right, I don't, but I hate Garth Brooks. Is it because of the murder? It's because of the murders.
SPEAKER_00And it's plural. Murders. It wasn't him, it was his alternate ego. Murder, she wrote. What was his alternate ego's name? You used to know it like you would rip it out.
SPEAKER_02All the time. He was just having some hormone issues. That's all it was. Me too. Me too.
SPEAKER_00Well, I guess, man, I my only argument is friends in low places, but if that's I can't even listen to it by him. So no, you can't book's real. You can listen to it by him in your heart when you and your friends are around a fire.
SPEAKER_05You know what? I don't I don't think I've ever listened to Garth Brooks sing it then. That's how I feel about it. I I know by the word of mouth.
SPEAKER_00It's on the radio growing up. Yeah, he all of his stuff plays on the radio. Okay, well Pink Floyd moving on. Purchase what from?
SPEAKER_05A record shop, I guess.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, C D, uh a vinyl.
SPEAKER_02And you listen to it in your car, how your modern car?
SPEAKER_00Who, me?
SPEAKER_02No, you don't have a you don't have a modern car.
SPEAKER_00I don't I don't have I don't own Garth Brooks.
SPEAKER_05My C D player alum. No, no, no. My CD player that doesn't work.
SPEAKER_02C D player that's got the Amish ladies thing in it. Yes. I think there's something else.
SPEAKER_00No, if I'm listening to Friends in Low Places, it's because I started a sing-along. There is no track player. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_05I only I only know it by word of mouth.
SPEAKER_02So does his music really exist?
SPEAKER_05That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02In the store, where the fuck are you? How do you listen to it? Is it real?
SPEAKER_05He's not real.
SPEAKER_00It is in the store. You can purchase CDs and fine.
SPEAKER_05You go to Bohemian Amigos with only Garth Brooks CDs.
SPEAKER_00We're the Garth Brooks store.
unknownGarth Brooks store.
SPEAKER_00I have a theory about Garth Brooks that is so he was rated like the best-selling artist of all time for a very long time. And I think it's because his songs aren't on streaming. So he literally probably has like record sales through the roof. Because the only way to listen to his music is physically buying it. So for him, he's like, dude, I have the best-selling album of all time, my greatest hits album. And it's like, yeah, but like there's no other way to listen to your music.
SPEAKER_05So and he and he's pitting me in a corner, and I don't like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, all right. Pink Floyd moves on. Red Hot Chili Peppers versus Blink 182.
SPEAKER_05Oh, this one's hard.
SPEAKER_02It's not, but it is. I'm going red hot chili peppers.
SPEAKER_05In the insist.
unknownLadies first.
SPEAKER_00Although small things. Small things. Now here's the thing. Small things. Small things.
SPEAKER_01Small things.
SPEAKER_03Small things.
SPEAKER_00Fell in love with the girl at the rock show.
SPEAKER_05Yes. I would be sad to see red hot jelly peppers.
SPEAKER_00What's my age again? What's my age again?
SPEAKER_05But I I love Blink 182. Like a lot. Like I listen to them regularly.
SPEAKER_00I'm going red hot jelly peppers.
SPEAKER_05That's crazy.
SPEAKER_02So listen, I own a shit ton of Blink 182 songs that I've bought over the years. I find myself every time they come up while I have it on shuffle, I skip it like 100% of the time. Unless my wife is with me because she'll sometimes sing along.
SPEAKER_05Okay. I I am happy with whatever decision is made. Like I'm not mad at either decision.
SPEAKER_00I will say that both Red Hot Chili Peppers and Blink 182, I don't skip either one of those. Those are two of my favorite bands of all time. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02Dude, I'd listen to it so hard for years.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm burnt out.
SPEAKER_05Chris does have years on us.
SPEAKER_00Here's the difference between Blink 182 and Red Hot Chili Peppers is Blink 182 is a great band, and I love their music. They have not revolutionized music the way that the Red Hot Jili Peppers did. Because Flea from the Red Hot Jelly Peppers completely revolutionized bass playing amongst an entire generation of youth. The 2000s rock and like hard rock heavy metal scene would not exist the way that it does without Flea, because Flea transformed how we viewed bass in a composition. Because the Chili Peppers, almost all of their like sick ass lines are bass lines. That's a bass line. The guitar is like super super simple stuff. It's usually like chords, but the bass is you know. So was that flea was on that Star Wars, he was on commercials, he was in Family Guy.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, you're right. No, I'm going red hot chili peppers. Imagine Chris is like, I'm going blink one 182 now. Sweet go the wrong way.
SPEAKER_00So the red hot chili peppers move on. Lincoln Park. You don't have to go any further either.
SPEAKER_05I was gonna say Lincoln Park all the way.
SPEAKER_00Lincoln Park.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Dude, see, there's good. Do you guys hate me? Wait, wait, sidebar talk. Did I hurt either one of you?
SPEAKER_02Like, did I do something? We have our own text thread. We really do. Anything we can do to make your day worse.
SPEAKER_05I also think it's crazy that Chris and I are just so much on the same wavelength right now.
SPEAKER_00It's hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Let's let's see. So M M didn't get through. Pink Floyd, Pink Floyd or Garth Brooks didn't get through. Caether's not going through. Those were all of my picks.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Do you guys hate me? Did I do something?
SPEAKER_05That's so funny.
SPEAKER_00Ouch, man.
SPEAKER_05Um, I just I prefer Lincoln Park.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Lincoln Park versus Caether is probably the hardest decision for me, but it seems that I'm outvoted, so yes. Lincoln Park, I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_05That was sweet with red hot chili peppers and blink 182.
SPEAKER_00I'm not sad that Lincoln Park moves on. Yes. But at the same time, I uh it hurts when there's not a discussion about one of the greatest rock bands of all time, Caether.
SPEAKER_05You can talk about them.
SPEAKER_00Chris. We already talked about Queen. What are you talking about? Chris.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, you did use your your time on Queen.
SPEAKER_00No other band has the line, I want to waste her monthly blood. Come on, dude.
SPEAKER_05Other than me, Nause.
SPEAKER_02I think that's for good reason.
SPEAKER_05That just sealed the deal for me, actually. So what do we have now? We have we have Queen Harry Styles Kanye.
SPEAKER_00Kanye. One of them have to move forward. Queen versus Harry Styles versus Kanye.
SPEAKER_05Kanye all the way.
SPEAKER_00Let's let's talk about putting weapons in their hands and who's going to survive. Kanye.
SPEAKER_05Kanye. She already has the tank lined up.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I mean, I'm not I'm not against Kanye moving forward, but like a better than Queen?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Dude, I don't really like Queen. I'm gonna be honest with you.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I mean, I it's like Kanye is my pick out of the three as well. I just thought you guys would have a problem.
SPEAKER_05I can appreciate Queen. But if I'm gonna go through my songs, I'm picking a Kanye song.
SPEAKER_00Clearly, Harry Styles is the weakest of the three.
SPEAKER_05Chris, you really need to listen to Harry Styles. I'll send you the album.
SPEAKER_00He's gonna be a super fan by the time this is.
SPEAKER_05You are, dude. You're gonna love Harry Styles. He is he actually jokes aside, like he has a he's a fantastic artist. He really is.
SPEAKER_00He's a better artist than Kanye. I'll I will say that. He's a better songwriter than Kanye. Well, no, actually, no, no, I can't say that, dude. I just thought about some of the Kanye songs, and like I can't.
SPEAKER_05That's I think it's a better storyteller than Kanye.
SPEAKER_00No, you don't think so? Gold digger, dude.
SPEAKER_05That is true. That is the greatest story of all time. It goes four generations.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, dude. Yeah, Kanye does deserve to move forward, actually.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00God, I guess it's gonna look real rough on the internet here soon. Okay.
SPEAKER_05Um Pink Floyd, Chili Peppers, Lincoln Park.
SPEAKER_00Ooh. For me, it's the chili peppers, no question.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna go Lincoln Park.
SPEAKER_05Really? I'm going Pink Floyd. So do we wait?
SPEAKER_02How do we tie break?
SPEAKER_05Do we rock it?
SPEAKER_00No, so let's let's talk it out. Let's talk it out. Pink Floyd is substantially the most legendary artist, right? Yes, biggest catalog, second greatest album of all time, as far as record sales. Does not hold a candle to these other two, like, or these other two don't hold a candle to Pink Floyd. Yes. It in terms of pure musicianship and legacy and everything. Lincoln Park recently had to bring in a new singer because Chester killed himself. So they're rolling with a lineup that isn't even reminiscent of Lincoln Park. And she's she's a fine singer, she does fine, but like it's not Chester. So at the end of the day, like fans are still pretty pissed off about that. And then you got the Chili Peppers.
SPEAKER_05But honestly, without Flea, who are they?
SPEAKER_00John Ferjanti, Anthony Heatis, Chad Smith.
SPEAKER_02Okay, those are not really tuck your boner away. Okay.
SPEAKER_00I'm just saying, I'm just saying California Cation, the other thing.
SPEAKER_05Fantastic. I do think Pink Floyd Pink Floyd on like even a historical level is like Berlin Walt, dude.
SPEAKER_02Okay. You know what? I change I change I do change my vote to Pink Floyd. Really? Ice are we sure? Yes.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_05Well, and you want to talk about revolutionary revolutionizing music, like between them and and red hot chili peppers. Dude, money. Are you kidding me?
SPEAKER_00They they boom but like what do you mean?
SPEAKER_05I'm taking that over California Cation any day. I really am.
SPEAKER_00No, that's true. Yeah. Hey.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, dude.
SPEAKER_00Here we are. Your finals are Kanye, who in and of himself has a lot. Croversy. He does. Versus Pink Floyd.
Finals Kanye Versus Pink Floyd
SPEAKER_00Who has also a lot of controversy?
SPEAKER_05Controversy. And you know what? And the true Cornell part of hearts that I am, I'm going Pink Floyd.
SPEAKER_02I'm going Kanye.
SPEAKER_05Oh, you get to be the deciding factor. That is so fun.
SPEAKER_00Kanye is on record saying that Hitler had some good ideas. This is true.
SPEAKER_01Are we talking about music? Hold on, hold on. Because we didn't bring up the Michael Jackson allegations.
SPEAKER_00What I'm saying is Kanye has has some stuff on his record. Roger Waters, the lead singer of Pink Floyd, also well renowned for his stances on anti-Semitism. So he's an entire concert about it and loves telling people about it. He does.
SPEAKER_05He loves bringing those hammers up.
SPEAKER_00Waters, he really does.
SPEAKER_05He really, really does. But you know what? If I had to pick one or the other, I'm still probably going pink flood.
SPEAKER_00Outspoken political stance, pro oh, I'm sorry, he's the opposite. Pro-Palestinian activism and divisive comments regarding Israel, Ukraine, and Western foreign policy. So we have the two opposites of the spectrum.
SPEAKER_05So do you want to support Hitler and his ideologies, or are you against Hitler and his ideologies? I mean it's what it boils down to.
SPEAKER_00But for this moment, I really wish that we could play a song. It is stronger. I think that is one of the most underrated songs of all time. That song gets me so excited. Like you have no idea.
SPEAKER_05That's really funny. Dude, if anyone's gonna sue us on the show, it's gonna be I mean, come on, guys.
SPEAKER_02You can barely hear it.
SPEAKER_05Come on, come on. Chris, I'm not reading that.
SPEAKER_02Come on.
SPEAKER_05That's a lot for me to read. I'm gonna be so honest with you. You can read it to me. You want to read it to me.
SPEAKER_00Oh wow. I I can't wait to read this actually. But, anyways, what would the pink floid song?
SPEAKER_05I'll read it after. I'll read it after.
SPEAKER_00What would the Pink Floyd song be?
SPEAKER_05My Pink Fluid song would be on the turning way. I think that is a beautiful song.
SPEAKER_00It is, but if you're showing somebody something comparing it against Stronger, yes, but I I'm still going for like what does Stronger stand up for?
SPEAKER_05Do you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00That that don't doesn't that doesn't kill me can it can only make me stronger.
SPEAKER_05Kelly Carson said the same thing.
SPEAKER_00She did, but not nearly as good of the bar, dude.
SPEAKER_03I'm just saying, I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_00Taylor, Taylor, Taylor. I I I need you to know that he has the line. Let's get lost tonight. You could be my black Kate Boss tonight. Play secretary, I'm the boss tonight. And you don't give a fuck what they all say, right? I mean, come on, dude.
SPEAKER_05What what's that? What's that line of Narnia? Don't don't don't talk to me about the dark magic which I was there when it was.
SPEAKER_02Don't quote the dark magic, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, don't quote the dark magic, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So as far as a pink Floyd song, I personally would think that you would go with wish you were here. If you're gonna show somebody a Pink Floyd song, yeah, I guess so like I guess dang, can't even hear it.
SPEAKER_05That's crazy.
SPEAKER_00That is crazy.
SPEAKER_05Wow.
SPEAKER_00That is crazy. Yeah, actually, you know, you know why?
SPEAKER_04Because they they know Can you tell me to feel real smile from the van. Help Pink Floyd.
SPEAKER_02This is the song I would slip my wrist in. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00No, man. The internet's gonna hate me, but like my vote is Kanye.
SPEAKER_05That's fine. Kanye can win. Oh shit.
SPEAKER_02I thought I was gonna lose that one.
SPEAKER_05Well, you here to hear, folks.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I love Pink Floyd, but like I feel like I am one of the few people that love Pink Floyd. Like, I know Taylor loves Pink Floyd, I love Pink Floyd, but like the masses don't love Pink Floyd.
SPEAKER_05They should.
SPEAKER_00The masses also don't love Kanye, but I feel like if I'm in a room and I play stronger, more people are gonna be like, Oh, so you're you're trying to get the the vote of everybody and not standing up for what you believe in.
SPEAKER_05I understand, I understand.
SPEAKER_00I believe say the word for that. I believe that what doesn't kill me can only make me stronger. Work it faster.
SPEAKER_05Well, you heard it here, folks. The the sweet 16 to champion of the Hook and Bridge podcast is Kanye West, everyone. Gosh, I can't wait. I can't wait to see the comments.

Winner Reveal And Final Goodbye
SPEAKER_00If we if you thought the AI talk was bad, wait till we have to defend this one.
SPEAKER_05No, imagine they're like, no, no, no, we agree. Imagine if any of you say that.
SPEAKER_00What's the ski what's the scarier thing? That we get a bunch of comments and backlash about saying that Kanye's awesome, or that we get an entirely new, gigantic audience of people that are like, Thank you for saying Kanye's awesome.
SPEAKER_05The way I'd have to start using AI in my regular life would be crazy.
SPEAKER_02I just want Kanye to put it, leave a comment. You know, leave leave a comment in the comment section. Thank you.
SPEAKER_00I mean, that would be that would be pretty fucking sick, dude. I I'm worried about the things that'll get mailed to my house, though. Could you imagine? You just walk outside and there's like a new getup presented by Kanye. Chris, you know what I'm talking about. Fellow white man in a hat. You know what I mean. Oh, well, guys.
