Send in your music story!

We kick things off with pure livestream energy, then get right to what we love most: celebrating new music with people who actually care. Shavar Dante joins us to premiere his new track “I’ve Got My Mind Made Up,” and we talk about what makes it hit, from the lo-fi chill production to the layered details you only catch after a few listens. If you’re looking for independent artist discoveries, this is one of those hangs where a song turns into a whole conversation about craft, taste, and why music still feels personal.

From there, we go practical. We swap stories about getting sick, staying tour-ready, and protecting your voice with tools like steamers and nebulizers. Then we zoom out to the business side of being an artist in 2026: merch that fans actually want, vinyl releases and limited pressings, artwork that builds a real “era,” and why instrumentals and alt versions matter for DJs and pop-up vinyl culture.

We also get honest about social media marketing for musicians and creators. TikTok vs Instagram Reels vs YouTube Shorts, scheduling clips, trial reels, and the frustrating truth that algorithms can shape what gets heard. If you’re building a video podcast or livestream, we even share the tool that leveled up our show’s layout and quality: StreamYard.

Episode 199 wraps with trivia, tour talk, a Nickelback reputation breakdown, and the kind of chaotic side debates only a live chat can produce. If you enjoy music podcasts that feel like a real hang but still leave you with useful ideas, hit play, subscribe, and share it with a friend. What part of the music world feels the most broken to you right now?

SPEAKER_02

I will put um stevia

Tea Talk And The Matcha Debate

SPEAKER_02

in the raw gotcha gotcha you familiar with that yeah yeah I'll use that because it's like healthier doesn't spike with glue close and all that stuff and I've been on this matcha you know matcha I can't get behind matcha yeah I would have never guessed I would which is kind of wild like I would have never guessed it and I'm like making like at home whisking you're whisking it yeah like what's I used to work at Starbucks and I would have to make matches all the time they're kind of my worst nightmare now I'm not gonna oh my goodness and it's like you have to get ceremonial grade to it that one probably won't make me break out in hives yeah exactly real stuff yeah yeah exactly and uh you know being in I'm not in I'm in Ohio right now but like being in OH yeah exactly exactly being in LA little Tokyo you know being in like being able to get authentic like stuff is like a a thing so you know I kind of got on this matcha kick I'm not mad at it.

SPEAKER_08

Um so Shavar you have an incredible new track out right now uh would it be okay if we play it for the audience absolutely fantastic so this is so exciting I just thought we were chatting that's beautiful oh yeah oh we are chatting we are chatting but I want I would love for people to uh experience this new track yeah chatting snacking and I appreciate I appreciate you all inviting me on and like playing the song and all of that like that that means a lot to me so thank you that's awesome yeah man absolutely uh let's see here I gotta figure out someone has to talk about music on the music shelf let's see if I can I don't know if I can share Spotify or not have I done that before Taylor I think I've done that before oh yes you have well you figure it out do you want a life update yeah please please please please I am officially healthy Serena Carpenter You're officially healthy that's awesome I I think so other than hang on I'm gonna cough other than that I believe I'm officially out of the trenches I've been down bad for two weeks oh my goodness I have been the sickest I think I've ever been in quite a few years wow but so what what was was it um like seasonal kind of allergy stuff cold stuff I wish I got really sick at work last week and I ended up leaving work early going to urgent care and I had an upper respiratory infection oh my god literally I was and it truly probably one of the worst upper respiratory infections I've ever had I had to call off work for a whole week like I couldn't go in I I could barely get out of bed without hacking up along and then was feeling great Sunday Monday rolls around ten times worse ten times worse so I go back to urgent care after work and I ended up with a raging sinus infection from my upper respiratory infection oh my goodness and when I tell you it's probably not to be dramatic like I thought I had had sinus infections in the past probably the worst pain I think I've ever been in like up there like in my top five on the side of my face I couldn't eat my teeth hurt my face hurt my ear hurt these comments are wild I I'm not even uh reading them can I read them I can sure um

Getting Sick And Vocal Survival Gear

SPEAKER_08

but yeah so we're we're better I was I've been on antibiotics for a week I'm chilling now well that's awesome you're better that's that stinks like I've had bad sinus infections and stuff like that I actually started um all this new kind of protocol for myself for like before tour like I use this like the steamer it's like a a lot of vocalists used it I I never paid I used to never pay attention to any of that stuff I'm just like going from city to city staying up late like whatever you know I didn't do anything but like I've got a lot of dates coming up so um I'm always like I used to always get nervous about having a sinus infection because I've had it happen when I've flown to LA like early on and like had all this stuff booked and then my sinuses was terrible and couldn't do any vocals.

SPEAKER_02

Oh terrible right so but anyway this thing is a steamer and it's like 99.9% self-cleaning and like it does it cleans itself and all this stuff so you don't get any kind of other stuff going on. You use it in the morning and at night and it kind of helps naturally clear your sinus passages. Yeah but there's like some proprietary like sterile water you gotta use or whatever. And I use this other nebulizer too that kind of does the same thing and for anyone that's like using their voice a lot. Yeah oh yeah and it's been like a bit of a game changer and I'll be honest I was like I didn't even think it was I didn't think it was legit.

SPEAKER_12

I'm like I don't think I don't think you guys have been hiding this information from me for forever who would have thought a steamer could change your life yeah and that nebulizer I can feel it like going yeah rehearsals and stuff it's like oh nebulizers are fantastic I do own one yeah yeah it's great great at mind for asthma but yeah for sure so Taylor uh somebody wanted me to let you know that your your nails look oh yes I saw nail tour and then I was about to say that they're like you they're like shining like they are I got them done yesterday for the first time in a very long time so nice thank you and let let's jump into this song real quick so so what we're gonna do I am going to uh mute everybody we're going to appreciate this song in its entirety this is Shavar's new track I think it's incredible um I haven't gotten a chance to actually talk about it because I was waiting until we actually do the interview we're not doing that today we will have Shavar on another day to do a full interview and a full breakdown of this but let's go ahead and listen to the new track it's awesome guys maybe there we go okay so uh this is I've got my mind uh made up right that's the name of the track that is it yes sir all right let's go ahead and play I was dead from the onset me and you together was my first bet the battle all the regrets on the last time all the rejects I know that's my great deck

Premiering Shavar Dante’s New Track

SPEAKER_12

of my later and I'm thinking of only you and without God's light there ain't nothing that we can do absolutely incredible it's so good it feels good for my soul that's amazing I love it I could talk about that song forever so good it's it's such a uh lo-fi like super cool chill beat yeah Lindsay nailed it yeah um awesome I appreciate you guys and you recorded it in Ohio right same studio as last time yeah I recorded in my so I I did everything in my studio and then I mixed everything in Echo Park where I finished everything so yeah yeah sometimes I do overdubs out there too but this one it was just ready to you know mix and then master out there too so I love the transitions I love um the the little bit of guitar work there at the end where it kind of like fades out the rest of the track yeah yeah yeah super like early 2000s man yeah man and it's like I I know we're gonna talk about this later but like a quick aside like I like there's just like layers that peel away and there's stuff in there that you can kind of you know hear at different times you know and like some of the kind of like I don't know like some of those guitar synth riffs like to combine at the end you know you gotta kind of keep it uh keep it rock too you know right oh yeah so um my mom is in the comments she loves the song she has a couple of quick questions um first off she just wants me to tell you that she absolutely loves the song um she would like to know if you're on Pandora yes yes there we go yes um our little mom just look up Shavar Dante you'll see his name there on the screen you should be able to add that channel that's so amazing and then a few people have already purchased the song on iTunes and Spotify oh my god downloaded it on Spotify that's amazing thank you thank you thank you thank you there's a we we got we'll talk later about this but we have amazing journey that's come with this song it's gonna be awesome when we come back to it so I'm like super harley harley has some insider info that's so good uh you know what Adam says hi my little boy is in the other room he says hi hello hi Adam how are you doing dude Adam what's your uh your DJ ABC merch dj abc merch oh that's what's up help support my little my little guy that's what's up his jersey that's amazing music should look jersey that's so sweet like you know I like I I spend a lot of time telling other artists like hey you need to like make sure you're on your merch like for sure but that's amazing like at that age that's amazing I love well so so we got him uh we got him a DJ board when we was when he was really really little now he has like a little bit bigger one that's like a standing DJ board he's he's like almost two um dude it's it's just a toy but

Vinyl, Merch, Artwork, And DJ Culture

SPEAKER_12

but he loves dropping those beats man that's what's and and he loves the drums so I I think he's gonna be really into music. I love that I'm I'm into I'm major into electronic stuff and industrial stuff too I'm like you know a craft work kid you know I grew up listening to that right yeah craft work man yeah I thought everyone knew who they were too which is hilarious I'm like going up to kids you know who craft work so a fun story I found out about craft work from uh a friend uh at the record store his name's John Taylor you met John um I met older guy with glasses oh I love john oh oops um so anyways that was that zoom was epic dude I gotta say that that was that I love it but he he's a giant craft work fan and we were in the the record store uh looking at uh albums and he's a big devo fan and he was just telling me about a bunch of different artists and he was like you ever heard of craft work and I said no and he got me um one of their vinyls I had never heard of them before listened to it and I gotta say I'm not a giant fan but I wonder which one he got yeah I actually have no clue because I I just wasn't that into it so I gave it back to him and I was like yeah it's it's okay you know what I mean it's all right yeah yeah yeah it's just it's it's a different sound than I was used to it definitely appreciation for sure yeah it's definitely it just it influenced like all of that Detroit techno before electronic music or computer music technically but yeah that's it's interesting I would I think I was at first honestly just more intrigued with seeing these German guys with like the first video I saw them and they were like in these suits and they had like these metal sticks playing these like little drum pads and I was just so it looked like a sci-fi movie to me right so I'm like what is this you know um Chris is in the comments uh Chris yes Shivar Dante does have merch uh check out shavar's website Shivar what is the website called Shivardante.com and he has a merch line over there uh including vinyls and Shivar I'll let you tell the story about your vinyls because I I'm a big fan of your vinyl so yeah like I I have um we're always working on I'm gonna do a special edition seven inch for this one too coming out but I'm waiting for something to happen that Harley knows about yes sir but um yeah I um we have too much which is another awesome tune it was from the last EP a seven inch with an acoustic version um on that I just sold out of the 12 inch limited clear crystal clear keep my cool and then we're doing the last ep the too much ep on vinyl but that's not there yet so we have some seven inches there right now and then with all kinds of t-shirts all kinds of stuff hats all kinds of stuff and can I show you guys I was gonna outside of before we even talked about merch okay this is a minor I'm always trying to celebrate little minor victories but this is something I always yeah and this is something that came that I was always wanted right so for tour but check these out see if you can see oh guitar pick those are so cool and I'm like this has been like a little a dream of mine and I'm like I don't know there's just something about seeing dreams realized you know but

SPEAKER_02

These came in yesterday, and we've got some of these too. So the stickers of the artwork. I love the stickers.

SPEAKER_12

Your artwork is always incredible on your album. That's amazing. Oh, thank you.

SPEAKER_02

Oh me and my friend in Berlin, um Trippy Steph, like we work on concepts and you know, send sketches back and forth and all kinds of stuff, and then he's just he's killing it. Like it he definitely executes it and like the the all of the finishes and yeah thing. I just the artwork is such an important part of the music to me. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. Now that's amazing.

SPEAKER_12

Now, Shvar, you also do the the acoustic versions of your songs, they're um instrumentals, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, instrumentals too, yeah. That's for the DJ culture. Kind of I grew up loving instrumentals. I don't I couldn't even understand why as a kid, I just liked them, you know, too. Whenever I would see them, and um I kind of have this vision of doing some vinyls for people that spin. Like there's a whole culture out in LA of people that just do these pop-ups and they just spin vinyl, and it's like really dope. So like I'll pop up and just take random vinyls to these things, and you know, and I'll kind of pick somebody and give them a random one if I think they might play it, but just if they're into music. But I thought about doing one that has the original and has an alt version instrumental and just an a cappella, too. So that's awesome. So cool. Do your own thing, you know.

SPEAKER_12

Uh, should I should I be offended by this? You think my mother just asked what color my eyes are.

SPEAKER_08

That that's not your mom, that's Shiloh. Shiloh is on her account. Shiloh, Shiloh's our little cousin, and she also wanted me to tell you that she loves your song.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_08

Mom and Shiloh are both there.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, okay. All right, all right, that makes a little more sense.

SPEAKER_08

Also, Shiloh, I love you so much. Colors both C O L O R.

SPEAKER_12

Cluer. Um, we have another fantastic special guest to join us for the rest of the show. We've got Danny in the house, everybody. Danny, hello, sir.

SPEAKER_08

Uh hi Danny, how are you?

SPEAKER_14

I'm doing good. I'm glad you have energy. I was afraid I was gonna come in like way too excited.

SPEAKER_08

Um five days on Amoxicillin,

Danny Arrives And Podcast Shoutouts

SPEAKER_08

dude. I'm chilling. I'm pumped. Yeah, cool.

SPEAKER_12

Um, Danny from the band, just happy to be here, and our podcast, The Dark Side of Music, and his other podcast that I just finally found yesterday. What did you find yesterday? I believe it's called the The Nerd, the Rock Nerd. That's not you. No, you were just on there.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, I was just on that because like I like I've tested you because I was worried. Uh uh, I talk for way too long, and sometimes I talk about Marvel stuff for way too long. And so people just ask me to come and talk.

SPEAKER_12

Well, check them out on the nerd rock or the rock nerd podcast. That was awesome. That's awesome.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, it was a lot of fun. Um, we got to make a soundtrack for the season two of uh Daredevil Born Again, like episode to episode, we were just making mixing songs up that made sense for the episode. Yeah, so it was a really cool concept, and I was like, hell yeah, I want to talk about this. So yeah, that's awesome.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, um, so while we're here, guys, I have a whole bunch of stuff for us. Um, okay, Lindsay, my lovely, my lovely wife in the other room, loves funny TikTok or not TikTok, Instagram, Instagram reels. Um, and there she sends me a bunch of music themed ones. So we're gonna watch some. You guys want to watch some funny videos? Yeah, I'm gonna do that whether I'm here or not. That's what I know about. All right, let's see here. Uh, yes, Taylor.

SPEAKER_08

Thank you. I'm raising my hand. Um, before you do that, can I show everyone the background of my phone for Memorial Day? I changed it.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely, it's going to be from now until USA USA.

SPEAKER_08

From now until probably September.

SPEAKER_02

That's a long time. Oh my god, that's awesome. I like the hot dogs as an American player. That's amazing. That's amazing.

SPEAKER_08

Anyway, continue with the videos. I just wanted to share.

SPEAKER_12

Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog.

SPEAKER_08

Diggity dog.

SPEAKER_12

Okay, she sent me so many.

SPEAKER_08

She said too old for TikTok, they're Instagram reels.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, I think they're all the same to me.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, well, if you so like both of them have algorithms, and I feel like TikToks is a little bit quicker, so like I see the videos I want to see faster on TikTok, but I'll definitely see them again like a week later on Instagram.

SPEAKER_04

So I have never been on TikTok. What?

SPEAKER_12

What let me take that back. I have gone on to our show's TikTok to try and pay TikTok to promote videos for the show. Other than that, I have never been.

SPEAKER_08

Do you want to hear something really funny about that? I have never posted a video on TikTok. Ever. And you post things for our show, and I personally have more following than the volume.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Nobody's on the show.

SPEAKER_12

I don't know how to. I don't know, dude. I have no idea how TikTok works.

SPEAKER_14

No clue. Yeah, I don't either. So I'll say this the band, my band uh TikTok account has like a fourth of what my personal one does. And I did not do that on purpose either. It's like one of those things where I I don't get it. I don't understand. I don't understand it.

SPEAKER_12

Shivar. Yeah. Oops. That was way loud. Is there a way to adjust that? That was great.

SPEAKER_08

Shavar, you seem like a YouTube shorts guy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you know. I'm gonna say that.

SPEAKER_09

I don't know if you should take that as a compliment or compliment.

SPEAKER_02

It's a compliment. No, but I I actually I actually upload what I did on TikTok, to be honest. I'll just take it and then upload it to shorts. You know, because it's oh yeah, that's perfect. Yeah, so yeah, no.

SPEAKER_12

I'm the same way. Like, I all of our stuff is just scheduled. So uh Lindsay's sister Courtney does a lot with us for the show, and she has told me that that's a horrible thing to do. Excuse me. Um, but like I have a program that I go on to that's just got all of it linked together, and I just click a clip and it schedules it to all of the social media at once. I gotcha, but apparently that is the wrong thing to do. Do not take that advice. No, first do that. You're not supposed to do it.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, yeah, people, it's it's a whole thing.

SPEAKER_14

And you're supposed to upload specific types of content on specific apps, it's a whole thing. Yeah, certain ones have different time frames, like like one's like 15 to 30 seconds, the other's like 30 to 45 seconds. It's weird, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It's yeah, for sure. Then you can kind of just adjust them. I kind of do that for the platform, but I've been doing I've done it before, and I just started doing it again, just kind of like doing some trial reels on Instagram.

SPEAKER_14

And oh, yeah, trial reels are awesome, yeah. And just what is that?

SPEAKER_02

So it'll test it to nine followers so you can kind of see what it does, and they'll actually push it out. So you should leave it there, they say 24 to 72

Social Media Algorithms And Trial Reels

SPEAKER_02

hours and kind of see what it does there, but it'll get pushed out to people that don't follow you, and then you can share it to your audience if you want to or not, you know. Keep it in track.

SPEAKER_12

I'm so confused. Wait, are you telling me right now all of the reels that go up only go to my followers? Yeah, unless I really well that makes sense.

SPEAKER_14

So if it's so if it's kind of the same for both TikTok and Instagram, where they they do show a percentage of your followers, but then they show it if they like it a lot, then it increases the percentage of non-followers that it'll show it to because they go, Oh, these people liked it a lot instantly. So let's see if these other people will like it. And then if they like it, then it just it keeps increasing both sides. Um, but yeah, the the I didn't know about trial rails. Uh drummer of of my band, Juan, all credit to him. He he was the one who started the trial rails, but they're awesome because like you still keep all of the views from the trial period when you when you flip it to your so like we have one that's like 4200. We had like 2,000 before we even flipped it to our our followers because just the the non-followers liked it instantly, type of thing. Yeah, I hate it, I hate social media so much, dude.

SPEAKER_17

That's awful, so stupid. Yeah, it's awful.

SPEAKER_12

I I don't know, I think I'm just old. I miss the days of just being able to be good at stuff and people like it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it is it is crazy, and you know, all of the this isn't a knock, but it's just a reality. Like all of the marketing fan accounts that you know, yeah, these will use like a thousand fake accounts just to pull the content of the song that kind of drive traffic, yeah. It's just not a knock, but it's just like that's just what it is. That's a a tool that they that they use, you know, to break well made more major majors, too, you know. So yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Um, so before we jump into these videos, if anyone has ever been interested in starting a podcast or just doing like high-quality meetings for business or anything of the sort, and you're like, man, these guys look great on camera. I love the layout, I love everything they got going on. We use a program called StreamYard, and if you're interested, we do have a referral link you can click on as Taylor dies in the corner there during the ad read. Um, but please check out StreamYard if you're interested. They do have a free option, they have the paid subscription. I've been using this program for nearly three years now, and I can't say enough how much it completely changed our show, completely changed the landscape and quality of what we do. So try out StreamYard, it's worth it. All right, so let's watch some of these videos. This one was really loud, just a heads up, and I have no idea how to adjust the volume. So hopefully, hopefully it doesn't break everything. That's funny. All right, let's see what this next one is. Oh man.

SPEAKER_08

Are we just watching these with you? Did you not preview these at all?

SPEAKER_12

No, I this isn't it.

SPEAKER_14

You wanted it to be an organic surprise.

StreamYard Setup And Why It Works

SPEAKER_12

All right, let's do this one. I don't wanna I don't want to run through all of them immediately. I want to save some, but we'll do a lot of things.

SPEAKER_08

Also crazy that you're just showing like your messages to the world.

SPEAKER_12

I mean, it's all business related. Am I not supposed to do that?

unknown

I don't know.

SPEAKER_14

I mean, it'd be more interesting if we could see actually all the conversations, not just the last thing.

SPEAKER_12

They're not they're not interesting.

SPEAKER_14

It's it's kind of uh what were you doing with Busch Gardens Williamsburg? What's going on there? Oh, dude, come on.

SPEAKER_12

We went and saw Ryan Cabrera.

SPEAKER_14

Oh, that's where you saw him. I saw the post. I yeah, I forgot.

SPEAKER_12

I didn't know you got you got a link, you gotta link the people, man.

SPEAKER_02

That's so funny. What's up, man? Also, look at those blue check marks.

SPEAKER_12

You know, um neither Ryan nor Bush Gardens collaborated with my post. I take it kind of personal.

SPEAKER_14

You should. You are not the only person who's been slighted by uh Ryan Cabrera, and definitely not the only person who's been slighted by Busch Gardens. Most of Virginia, yeah.

Watching Music Clips And Cringe Moments

SPEAKER_14

I grew up in Nova, so I was I was around Bush Gardens.

SPEAKER_12

All right, all right, let's check this one out.

SPEAKER_15

Six seven, Taylor. That's hilarious.

SPEAKER_08

Gosh, it's my it's in my blood now.

SPEAKER_12

All right, let's check in on the comments real quick. We'll uh we'll move out of this real quick.

SPEAKER_08

Check in. While you're checking, can I give some shout-outs to my to my May babies? My May birthdays that have happened.

SPEAKER_12

Uh, yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_08

First of all, shout out Pre Malone for her May birthday at the beginning of the month. Woo woo. She's watching now. She's on. That's great. Um, shout out Miss Shiloh, who just had a birthday yesterday.

SPEAKER_12

Shiloh, happy birthday, Shiloh.

SPEAKER_08

Happy birthday, Shiloh. Um, shout out to our dad who has her birthday at the end of the month. It's on the 30th, just letting it know now.

SPEAKER_06

Hey, thanks, buddy. Appreciate that.

SPEAKER_08

Shout out to him, and you know, shout out to all the moms because Mother's Day was recently.

SPEAKER_12

Yes, Mother's Day was recently. Yeah, Mother's Day. We had um Miss Pistachio and and we did uh uh both moms, Peter, Peter, you know, Peter Manicat, James, Peter James.

SPEAKER_11

I forgot. I was waiting to see if you were gonna say his real last name, which I do not know how to say myself.

SPEAKER_12

So um, but we did it, we did a Mother's Day episode recently.

SPEAKER_07

Mom said poor Shiloh missed the 6-7.

SPEAKER_08

Oh no, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Let's let's read let's three uh let's read through some of these.

SPEAKER_02

Uh so have to run it back.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, Lindsay said uh Lindsay said too old for TikTok. Um then my mom was talking to her about that. Uh let's see, is there any other good ones? Let's see.

SPEAKER_08

You're welcome, Winter. I don't know what I did, but you're welcome.

SPEAKER_12

Chris said that his daughter Faith said it's because I don't listen to my intern, uh, Faith. Oh sorry.

SPEAKER_08

Other Chris, hey, hang on, I have to stop. Other Chris also had a birthday.

SPEAKER_12

Oh yes. Oh, that's been talking about it on that episode. Oh, that's really messed up, Taylor.

SPEAKER_08

Gosh, I'm the worst.

SPEAKER_12

You forgot that.

SPEAKER_08

I and I'm gonna feel really bad about it for the rest of my life. I'm gonna take that to the grave. That that um that carries with me.

SPEAKER_12

So organic is a good word for that, is something that Lindsay said. I don't I don't know what that was in reference to.

SPEAKER_14

That was when I said you didn't watch any of the the videos because you wanted organic.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, organic, yeah, everyone to see them for the first time. I do like organic for that. Uh it makes it sound more expensive, and I like that. I love it. So let's do something else really quick. Um, I want to give away some merch tonight. Ooh. All right. They are the only ones who get to win merch. So anybody that's watching right now, if you are interested in winning some merch, we're gonna do a music trivia question, and you'll answer the question. And if you get it right, I will let you know that you won. And then you will email me your shipping information, and we will ship

Trivia Giveaway And Jimi Hendrix Confusion

SPEAKER_12

you some hook and bridge podcast merch. Maybe your own DJ ABC shirt.

SPEAKER_08

DJ A B Cam buddy. So represent. Bring him on. Where's he at?

SPEAKER_12

He's in the other room, I think. He might be in the bath right now.

SPEAKER_08

Don't bring him on right now.

SPEAKER_12

What should our our trivia question be, guys?

SPEAKER_08

Mom says make it about Bon Jovi.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah. Um, let's see here. Uh genre. How about uh Danny? You pick a genre. Oh, oh, hold on. We got a we got a visitor.

SPEAKER_08

Is it my baby? Oh some T T. How are you, dude? Whoa. And these are your uncles. Say hi.

SPEAKER_12

Wow. You say hi? Do you want to say hi?

SPEAKER_04

Say feet.

SPEAKER_08

Hello.

SPEAKER_02

I love it.

SPEAKER_08

Gosh, my heart is so full and happy, dude. Hi, hi.

SPEAKER_14

He's just training the next generation of uh hosts here. That's right. Brilliant. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, bye, dude. Bye, Lindsay. See you later. Bye. Bye.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, man. All right. Oh, hi.

SPEAKER_08

There's two of me. Hello. Yeah. This camera, man.

SPEAKER_12

It's it's super cool. It's super cool.

SPEAKER_14

I totally want to get that camera. It's it's so cool that it just moves around. What camera is that?

SPEAKER_12

So it's this is the OBS bot. Uh, I got it on Amazon. They have great sales on it all the time. Um, I think I paid $150 for it, but it is an incredible camera, fantastic quality. Um, it is a webcam too. So that's nice. Yeah, as far as webcams go, like this is like the best webcam I've ever had. That's very cool. It is it is pretty nice. It was one of the best investments for the show, but anytime you're doing any sort of content creation, it's a travel camera, also. So it's it's a really great camera. Oh, that's really cool. Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Um, any said it's not moving on its own. The NSA is monitoring you.

SPEAKER_11

Probably.

SPEAKER_08

I definitely read that as NASA at first, and I was like, why doesn't NASA know what we do? That's crazy.

SPEAKER_03

They're watching just in case they're always watching.

SPEAKER_12

So, Danny, what genre should we make a trivia question about?

SPEAKER_14

Well, we gotta do rock, right? Let's do it if we're moving to to Bon Joby related questions. It's gotta be rock at least to start.

SPEAKER_12

Let's do it.

SPEAKER_08

I will be reading Miss Primalone's answers, just letting you know. She's watching on our TV, she doesn't have a way to tell you, she's watching on our TV.

SPEAKER_12

Hello, Primalone. It's been a very long time.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, it's my girl for real. In Nebraska.

SPEAKER_12

Nebraska.

SPEAKER_08

Nebraska.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, here we go. This is a good one, and all of us know this answer, too. Um, which artist played a right-handed fender stratocaster upside down because he was left-handed. So give your answer in the comments and send over uh uh your shipping info once you find out that that you've won. In the meantime, Danny, how's life been, bud?

SPEAKER_14

Life life's been good and bad. I I mean we we shared a uh a bond with you know hurt feet or or her lower extremities. Yours, yours, I I heard is doing well. That's it is it is mine not so much.

SPEAKER_07

No, what happened?

SPEAKER_14

Uh

Foot Injuries And Onstage Consequences

SPEAKER_14

well I jump around too much, and that's basically what the podiatrist told me is you know you you probably jammed it, sprained it really bad, uh, and or have microfractures. So I had to go get x-rays last week or this past so is it is it the ankle? No, it's the actual um well, he thinks it's the joint of the big toe and then the side of the foot. Yeah. Like so he thinks like there might be some cartilage damage, or I might have stretched a ligament, or but he just wanted to rule out fractures and stuff like that. So hopefully it's not that.

SPEAKER_08

Um he got me some toe yoga, yeah.

SPEAKER_14

He gave me some stuff that reduces the swelling, which is awesome, but it doesn't do anything for pain, I felt right. So I'm not swollen anymore, but it sure hurts. Um, but yeah, so he I I already got them the x rays sent over to. Him, but I mean it's the the week leading up to Memorial Day, so I was like, I'm not gonna hear anything if he didn't get it before like Wednesday. Right. So and he didn't. Um, so I'll hear something next week, I'm sure. Uh gosh. Yeah, I mean, it's not nearly as bad as it was, uh, but it's yeah, it's not there, it's not fixed.

SPEAKER_12

I will say, at least from my experience, the foot heals pretty good and pretty fast.

SPEAKER_14

The only thing I'm worried about is of course, when you tell people like, hey, I've got, you know, I hurt my foot and stuff like that. Everybody's got stories about hurting their feet and and stuff. And one person told me, Yeah, you gotta be careful with that. You know, I I uh hurt my foot. I think I broke some a couple of my toes or something like that, and I didn't go to the doctor and they healed wrong. And the doctor, I finally did because I was in pain, and the doctor's like, Well, yeah, we're gonna have to re break all of these. And I was like, Oh, yeah, I don't want that to ever happen.

SPEAKER_08

So do they put you under? There's no way they're just snapping toes up in that office.

SPEAKER_14

That would be crazy. The what you just did and what my brain just imagined. I don't because I'm just imagining like little baby carrot snaps.

SPEAKER_12

Like I was picturing a chiropractor's office.

SPEAKER_08

Oh take a deep breath in for me.

SPEAKER_14

Gosh, but the worst part is my little toes aren't the ones that hurt, so like the big toe, that's like breaking like a drumstick type of thing.

SPEAKER_08

So, like, that's a whole celery stock, dude. That's uh oh gosh.

SPEAKER_14

Oh I don't think the toe itself is messed up, and he doesn't either, but yeah, it he thinks it's the joint, and and which sucks because it's worse than if the if it was just the toe, because it's like yeah, you have to flex the the the toe and the joint and everything.

unknown

I don't know.

SPEAKER_12

Mine mine's been doing good, but I will say I uh oh you you're gonna you're gonna make it there?

unknown

Keep going.

SPEAKER_12

Okay, okay. Um mine's been doing good, but I will say it's it's started to hurt more recently. Oh no. So like yeah, like throughout my day, like the more I use it, the more it starts to hurt. And then when I get home in the evenings, it's very swollen. So I might be overdoing it a little bit, but yeah, I got more exercises. Did they give you anything for inflammation? They offered me, dude. Doctors are crazy, like they offered me the most extreme drugs right out the gate. Really?

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, well, you actually had a break, right? You yours was fractured.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, well, so it turns out that fracture was actually old, it was an old fracture. The the Taylor, what's the doctor I went and saw? Pediatrist, yeah. That's what I went to. Yeah, so so the fracture apparently was old. They were like, Yeah, this is an old injury. So I had at some point in time fractured my ankle and just lived with it, and was chilling. Oh man, see, that's exactly what I said.

SPEAKER_14

That's my worst case. Like, that's my nightmare, is that I I have already done that and it's just healing wrong, and that's why I've got so much pain.

SPEAKER_12

But apparently, I did a level three sprain, and I tore most of the ligaments, which arguably might be worse, I guess. So, yeah, I don't know. Do you have to get like an ultrasound or or no? They they were able to determine it just from like touching it and looking at the x-ray. Wow, yeah. Literally, the lady like rubbed a spot and she was like, Does that hurt? And I was like, Fuck yeah, it does remote for a real doctor. Uh dude, I don't know, man. The Virginia healthcare system's so messed up, but I have no idea. It was a hospital.

SPEAKER_14

I I don't get like I've only had x-rays a couple of times. And so, like, I was like, Yeah, I'm gonna have to, you know, sit on like a lie on a table and and stuff like that. I didn't realize that you know it had to be bent and turned like four or five different times to just get one foot x-ray. And she was like, she was like, Oh, is it is it like tender? And I was like, Well, only when you touch and or move it, and she was like, Oh, okay, yank, and she just like yanked it to the side and like was like, Hey, I just gotta manipulate it like this, and okay, Danny.

SPEAKER_08

When I dislocated my knee, they took me for x-rays, and it is probably one of the more painful experiences that I have had. And I would have to go to the hospital when it would like lock up, they would have to unlock it, and then send me for more x-rays, and they were doing the same same thing with your foot, they were going this way, that way, and I was like, guys, nope, we can't do that.

SPEAKER_14

Nope.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, I feel for you. It's not a week.

SPEAKER_12

Let's check in on these comments because these are crazy. Um, first of all, uh, yes, Taylor.

SPEAKER_08

Um, I have Primalone's answer.

SPEAKER_12

If you want to watch Primalone's answer, let's hear it.

SPEAKER_08

Pre Primalone said, Is it Eddie Van Halen?

SPEAKER_12

Oh man, Primalone. I am so sorry.

SPEAKER_02

I love that name though. Primalone. Primalone.

SPEAKER_12

Ask her, ask her if we're allowed to tell Shavar why I literally was just about to ask. I'm gonna ask her if we can hear so so unfortunately that is not correct. Let's dive into some of these comments because this is funny. Uh, my my mother, just my mother, not Taylor's mother, um, said Jiminy Hendrix. Uh uh Aaron said Kenny G. Chris second the Kenny G comment. Uh Lindsay said Jiminy Cricket. Um let's see here. She blamed Spelljack, but we all know she didn't know how to spell Jimmy.

SPEAKER_07

Shiloh said please play the songs, the 6-7 song.

SPEAKER_12

We'll we'll play the video again for her.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Um, so, anyways, uh, and then Chris says to check the group chat.

SPEAKER_08

Um, I was told that I can share cool why she's called pre-malone. So she is my best friend from high school. We are very, very close. This was years ago. She randomly, I don't remember if she had messaged me or called me, but she said, Do you think I look like post Malone? And I said, What okay?

SPEAKER_02

Wait a minute. What era of post Malone?

SPEAKER_15

Exactly. That's what I was just about to ask.

SPEAKER_12

Well, this would be this was early posty.

SPEAKER_15

Like why early posty with the braids?

SPEAKER_12

With the yeah, yeah, yes.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay, okay. I got context now.

SPEAKER_08

Okay, and I remember bringing it up to Harley, and we were looking at pictures of her and post Malone side by side, so we could give her a yes or a no. We were taking it very seriously, and I said, Girl, I don't think you look like post Malone. And I disagreed, I heavily disagreed, and then he heavily disagreed, and then he said, Well, she's like pre-malone.

SPEAKER_02

That is hilarious. I love it. That's great.

SPEAKER_08

She just texted me, she said, like beer, bong's and Bentley's era. Okay, I uh yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

That was uh you were in what grade, Taylor?

SPEAKER_08

I think I had either just graduated or maybe I was a senior in high school.

SPEAKER_12

I think you must you you were definitely younger, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

No, I was a junior, she was a senior, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So that was a long time, beer bongs. Okay, long is crazy, yeah. Long is crazy. It was like eight years ago.

SPEAKER_11

That's a long time.

SPEAKER_08

Um, anyways, yeah. So she has been she has been pre-malone for the past six.

SPEAKER_02

That is hilarious. I love it. I love a good nickname story because it's that's great, especially from that long ago.

SPEAKER_08

It's so funny.

SPEAKER_12

And we are selling pre-malone shirts on our website.

SPEAKER_08

We are selling premalone shirts.

SPEAKER_15

That's awesome. Uh I love it.

SPEAKER_12

Chris made while we were talking something on chat GPT that I have to show you guys.

SPEAKER_08

Chris knows how I feel about chat GPT.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, dude, he is so in now you have no idea. All right, check this out, guys.

SPEAKER_03

Whoa!

SPEAKER_12

It's Jimmy Lee.

SPEAKER_03

Jimmy's blurred.

SPEAKER_14

See, this is the only acceptable thing to use at GPT.

SPEAKER_15

Right, right. That is in the funny yeah, you know what?

SPEAKER_08

I support it. I do, I do. That's really funny.

SPEAKER_12

I will say though, just for future reference, Chris, this picture is highly inaccurate, especially since our question was who plays the upside down guitar? That is a right side up guitar.

SPEAKER_08

That is a right side up guitar, and maybe it's a left-handed guitar. What was the answer?

SPEAKER_12

Uh Jimmy was the end the answer.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, perfect. Sorry, my bad, my bad, my bad.

SPEAKER_12

So, in that case, um, anyone who actually knew the answer, feel free to email us.

SPEAKER_00

Your mom tried to type Jimi Hendrix and it auto-corrected to Jiminy Hendrix, which is why Chris and I said Jiminy.

SPEAKER_12

So I don't know if you guys heard that.

SPEAKER_00

Heard it.

SPEAKER_12

That's funny. Um, but yeah, if uh if anybody thinks that they won, please email us over at hook and bridgepodcast at gmail.com and I will mail you out some merch.

SPEAKER_08

Like surprise merch.

SPEAKER_12

Yes. Yes, in your email, tell me your t-shirt size though, because I want to it's a do the three people who are hanging out with you right now also get surprise merch. Oh, yes, absolutely. Everybody gets merch.

SPEAKER_14

It's only surprise merch if when you open up the the the packaging, there's like confetti that comes out.

SPEAKER_08

That's oh Danny that's that's crazy.

SPEAKER_14

You wouldn't I wasn't even thinking glitter bomb, I was just thinking like you know, regular paper mache confetti, like instruction paper cut up into little teen type pieces.

SPEAKER_08

Just so you know, anyone confetti.

SPEAKER_12

If anyone ever sends me a glitter bomb, I don't know what I did wrong to you, but that's remember this.

SPEAKER_08

I was gonna say, remember this is live.

SPEAKER_14

The only thing I'll say, I never want to get a glitter bomb, but if I were to ever get one as a as a gag gift, I I need it to be the the edible glitter in case it gets somewhere and my cat eats it. Like that's my only concern.

SPEAKER_08

That's your only thing.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, I do not care like that that there's just glitter everywhere. I'll clean it eventually. I don't care, but like, yeah, I just want my cat to eat some of it and die. Yeah, yeah, make sure it's the edible glitter kind. That's all I care about.

SPEAKER_12

Also, though, I think Danny doesn't understand. As a husband of a teacher, I've been with this woman so long now.

SPEAKER_08

I'm still glitter from when I lived there, dude.

SPEAKER_12

Glitter is it doesn't go away. It literally is lifelong. As soon as you come in contact, you just have glitter now.

SPEAKER_14

Did we ever figure out what is glitter made? Were we were we talking about this? Where like there's a big conspiracy about what glitter is actually made of because there was like a glitter shortage at one point. I feel like unicorns and wishes. Weren't we talking about this? That there was like a glitter shortage. I was talking to I swear I was talking to somebody, I thought it was you. I was talking about this because there was in the news that there was a glitter shortage at one point.

SPEAKER_08

Crazy that's making the news. I mean, how is there a glitter shortage?

SPEAKER_14

I that's that's what I'm saying because nobody knows what glitter is actually made of.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, what

Why Nickelback Became A Punchline

SPEAKER_08

I thought it was like ashes of pop stars or something, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_14

Maybe that's why we don't have that many pop stars.

SPEAKER_12

Well, we did just get off of the Eras tour, and I feel like that used up at least 75% of the world's glitters. I mean, maybe that's the reason.

SPEAKER_14

Maybe maybe all confetti. So confetti's safer because it's bigger, so you can't confetti is safer, yeah. And it's paper, right?

SPEAKER_12

Confetti's paper. Yeah, glitter is like glass.

SPEAKER_02

They would say it was like glass, like the old school glitter art. Home could be.

SPEAKER_08

Are they blowing glass around?

SPEAKER_14

Like we're gonna I don't know. Yeah, I don't know what it's made of, or I don't know what it was originally made of, and I don't know what it's made of now. But like at it was I swear within the last year, it was in the news that there was some sort of glitter shortage, and nobody knew what glitter was made of.

SPEAKER_08

It is wild.

SPEAKER_12

Everybody in the comments, tell us what you think glitter's made of.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, uptick and exotic. Made of that's hilarious.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, we shouldn't be glitter bombing people.

SPEAKER_12

What is it? Anthrax?

SPEAKER_08

Ugh no.

unknown

Sorry.

SPEAKER_08

I watched that episode of Criminal Minds. Um, so apparently it's microplastics. Is that it?

SPEAKER_14

So it's metal and microplastics. Yeah, that that's probably not safe.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, I don't know, man. I realistically, didn't they do like a study that said like we all have metal shavings and microplastics in our bodies?

SPEAKER_13

Oh, absolutely.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, yeah. Microplastics are my favorite snack.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, at this point everywhere, yeah, yeah. They do it, they they are saying that there's like some stuff that they're developing that you can take that like just latches onto it and it'll all go out. Uh I'm sorry, I was reading.

SPEAKER_08

Can you repeat that?

SPEAKER_12

I also was reading, uh Taylor, are you reading the same thing? What the heck does Y5P mean?

SPEAKER_08

What are you reading?

SPEAKER_14

The comment. The comment that says Y5P. Yeah, that's I was my jewelry.

SPEAKER_08

That's her at. That's Chris's wife's at, who is very funny, by the way. Are you reading her comments? Um, I assume it's mom trying to talk to her. I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

Is it speaking in code?

SPEAKER_08

Is her name? I know. I just realized I'm I'm talking to Harley and he's a little older than me.

SPEAKER_12

Um oh, I promised Shiloh I would play that uh that 6-7-1 again. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's jump, let's jump into that real quick.

SPEAKER_08

Happy birthday, Shiloh.

SPEAKER_12

Happy birthday, Shiloh. Happy birthday. Oops. Uh oh.

SPEAKER_08

You're frozen.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_08

Um, Danny, can I just say you are glowing? What is your moisturizer? Are you do you have moisturizer on?

SPEAKER_14

Uh well, so I so I have an amazing cousin who who kind of like when I have questions, so like I don't know anything about skincare at all. Okay. I just never did. Um, but she does my hair, she cuts my hair and colors my hair. Um, but also like I was like, hey, uh, what do I do about like I I just I sleep horribly. Um and I was like, what do I do about like the really dark circles under my eyes and stuff? And she's like, oh, well, if you get like these these patches, you can put them under your eyes. And she showed me this this brand, and they're the slimiest, weirdest things that I have ever like held on to. And I'm like, like they're like squishing out of my fingertips and stuff. And I I I put them on and they feel amazing as they just kind of dry up.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, they look great.

SPEAKER_14

So it's a little bit of self-care and it feels it feels real nice.

SPEAKER_08

I love it. You you look cared for.

SPEAKER_14

I I will I will I will tell her that it's it's working.

SPEAKER_08

Yes, she did good. Um Taylor. Also, I so sorry. I need to sorry, I need to apologize. Faith is Chris's daughter. I got confused with hope. Hope is his wife's name, right? Oh my god, Faith, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. My bad. Yeah, I'll leave.

SPEAKER_12

Hey, if it matters, if it matters, they've been telling me Lindsay's my sister for like 10 years.

SPEAKER_08

So we kinda we look like triplets. If we're all together smart enough, we gotta pull up a picture somewhere.

SPEAKER_12

I um all right, Taylor, you'll be happy. I also speaking of skincare, Danny, used uh lotion for the first time in my life, like two days ago. Wait, no, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_14

Oh, okay. Yeah, I've been so I used to swim, so I'm used to just like gooping on lotion, like regular lotion, yeah, top to bottom, just just to to offset the chlorine and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_08

But yeah, that makes sense. I definitely thought it would make you swim faster.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, well, that that's a different kind, but uh no conditioner and lotion. I every time I swam, I would I would do that all the time. So I'm used to that, but yeah, nothing. I never did anything for my face. I had to be I had to be educated.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, my uh my foot was very dry. So I use a little dabble lotion on it.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, we gotta Shabar, do you have a skincare routine?

SPEAKER_02

Actually, you know what? I've um no, speaking of instead of lotion, I use this oil. I think it's called, I can't remember what it's called. It's like the truth though. It's super expensive, but like um, I didn't have to pay for it, so but yeah, I was using this human race stuff. This um Pharrell found at this skincare company.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, that's cool. Oh, very cool.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so it's like there's like uh a three-step little process, so it's yeah, so I need to re-up that before tour too, you know. But um I'm like I'll have the I'll have seasons where I'm doing that and then I'm just like straight not doing nothing.

SPEAKER_14

Oh yeah. It's you just caught me on a on a good day. Like there are many days where I don't use them, but they just feel like when it's when it's like warm it and they're nice and cool, it just feels so good. Yeah, it's like store, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

I do like being cool, so that intrigues me.

SPEAKER_14

You can because you can put them in the refrigerator and then they cool down, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, and they're just like and they feel good.

SPEAKER_14

Can you sleep with it on? If you fall asleep, I mean they just stick to your face. Like, yeah, the whole thing is they're super goopy, so you wouldn't want to like put them on and then immediately go to bed. But if you were gonna like put them on and be up for like 20 minutes, half an hour before you actually lay down, okay, okay. It's fine. They just dry out and they like stick to your face.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, yeah, and then you're left all moisturized, yeah, and then it's cold.

SPEAKER_12

The cold is what's got me.

SPEAKER_14

The creepy, the the creepy things. Have you seen the full masks that like they like light up? Yeah, no, no, I'm talking about the ones that are like the uh the under-eye things where it's but it's just like oh yeah, yeah, like those.

SPEAKER_07

Well, this is eye.

SPEAKER_14

Well, those are the eyes, yeah. Uh they put them into the wiener dogs. That's awesome.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, I'll I'll put them on for the show.

SPEAKER_14

But you gotta put some lotion on your face, but yeah, they have the they have the full face mask, and they that will actually dry onto your face, and then you just have to peel it off. I just like a piece of glue, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_15

Well, dog, they look like wiener dogs. I love that's awesome. That's zero crazy.

SPEAKER_14

So, what they need to do is start making fun shapes because I feel like this will be the thing that gets all guys into wearing under-eye patches.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_14

If you gave me wiener dog under-eye patches or like rocket ships, or like you know what I mean? Like crazy stuff like that. I'm absolutely doing that every day.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that would be sick. Like shapes, like, yeah, like and it's like it could be like mystery.

SPEAKER_14

You don't know until you open it up and you're like, okay, today I've got sailboats.

SPEAKER_12

Like all right, all right. I'm gonna play this for Shiloh real quick.

SPEAKER_01

Um living like a blind man. Summing out a sense of feeling, and this is how you remind me.

SPEAKER_14

I feel like this is how uh uh this is how um I can't I nickel this is a nickelback gets to every single generation. Isn't that the truth?

SPEAKER_08

I was just gonna say, I think the nickelback hate is forced. And I've been saying that for years.

SPEAKER_14

No, no, it's well nothing against nothing nothing against nickelback. I'm just saying I feel like this is every generation has had they they just they just they get in the world.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, like they well Taylor, Taylor, you you do know like the historic story of how Nickelback started getting the hate, right?

SPEAKER_08

Like you know, like I don't do research. No, okay.

SPEAKER_12

What do you do? Dante or Shavar and and Danny, do you guys know uh the story of Nickelback? No.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like I vaguely I can't remember.

SPEAKER_12

I'm not sure if I know the real story though, like of how that's what actually happened is that they were so insanely popular that at one point during the the time that that song was popular, you could not listen to a single radio station because they had broken through all of the mainstream charts, they broke through all of the different genres, and you couldn't listen to a station that wasn't playing that song. I think at one point it was playing every hour of the day on some radio station. I am so they had such popularity that it built like this hatred towards them because people are like, Oh my god, I'm tired of hearing this song.

SPEAKER_06

You know, that's fair.

SPEAKER_12

But what actually finally solidified that hate was a comedian going on like a late night show, making a joke about nickelback, and everyone gravitated to that joke, and they became the the joke band.

SPEAKER_14

I feel like that's the that's the story I heard. Yeah, something about yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

But it all stemmed from that fame, like they were just the most popular thing at the time. Um, but that comedian is the guy from the Big Bang Theory, the the geologist. Wow, that's insane.

SPEAKER_14

Oh, Brian Poussein.

SPEAKER_12

Yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Neither of those help.

SPEAKER_12

I need the the name of the guy, like his he really liked like uh Sheldon's he he was kind of like a weird-looking guy with uh a little beard, I think.

SPEAKER_14

Really tall, really big glasses. He really liked Sheldon's girlfriend. Um Amy Farafowler, yeah. Amy Farafowler. Um and she she didn't know how to tell him that she was already dating Sheldon type of thing. Right. Oh I just did a rewatch because they they they showed the preview of the the new spin-off thing.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. But yeah, that's how Nickelback got the hate, and then uh people started treating them really terribly at concerts, and like it really crushed their career for almost a decade, and then meme culture is what brought them back. People started doing the vine of them with the photograph, and they kept changing it to different things.

SPEAKER_04

Look at this graph, yeah. That's what I thought about.

SPEAKER_12

So, yeah, that's how they got back into mainstream culture, and people started to love them again. But I would say one of the greatest metal bands of all time. I think nickelback's absolutely incredible, especially their early work. Their early work was so good, man. Silver Side Up was so good. Um, what was the other one? The the uh it had Follow You Home and Rockstar and all those songs on it. Uh um for all the wrong reasons. Yes, yeah, yeah. Great album, great album.

SPEAKER_02

Great band, great band. Are they playing? Are they touring right now?

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, they're back bigger than have they done anything like new?

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, they actually just put out a new album two years ago. Anything new for uh does it sound uh it's called San Quentin. No, it's actually great. It they've put out like really good quality songs their entire career. Longevity, like they're one of those bands, they didn't change their sound, which is huge because a band typically wants to experiment and do some new stuff and try and reinvent themselves. They just said, screw all of that, we're gonna keep putting out the thing that people like over and over and over, and it's worked.

SPEAKER_08

Love it.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, I will say though, the band now has gotten um a little more like softer

Tour Plans And Theme Park Residencies

SPEAKER_12

than they used to be. They're going heavier into their ballads than they used to. So but anyways, that's my my nickel bag spiel.

SPEAKER_08

Um, I have a question for the class. This has nothing to do with music, but my comment when I said dog down has me thinking, there's this shirt that I found online, and it said, Call me a vet because I'd be putting these dogs down, and it has hot dogs on it. No, why are you obsessed with hot dogs? Dude, I they're delicious. That's not the point, they're delicious. Um, should I get it?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, yeah, yeah. That's that's okay. That's too good.

SPEAKER_14

That's what you're we're we're enablers here. So if you're asking this class, the answer is yes.

SPEAKER_08

I clearly worked at it and I was like, you know, it could hit the wrong crowd if I wear it out and about, but I think it's oh yeah, it is very funny.

SPEAKER_02

Is it like I feel like that's too good?

SPEAKER_12

I will I will agree, it is very funny. Do we do we have more? Oh, oops, sorry. Yeah, what I was trying to remove it because I want to show us another one. Oh so I pulled these from YouTube earlier today.

SPEAKER_08

That's a Timu special. That's so funny.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. That's so that Timu special thing is so hilarious.

SPEAKER_08

Chris, you still owe me uh Timu. He loves Timu. You still owe me a Statue of Liberty outfit. Just letting you know.

SPEAKER_12

So these these are just a handful of clips that I pulled from YouTube, uh, just music related related clips. Um this one, this first one is Kirk Hammett and failing to remember how to play one of the most famous uh uh Metallica songs of all time. It's a classic clip.

SPEAKER_02

Oh man, that's hilarious.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, that's a good one. That's a good one.

SPEAKER_14

There is nothing you can do about you, you just have yeah, you have to own it. Yeah, yeah. There's a Bleak 182 clip where Tom is playing in the wrong in the wrong key. Yeah, he's playing in the wrong key, and he goes, Nobody said anything, and he like yells at everybody, and then he plays it in the right key. And it was funny, it was what's my age again, I think, right? Like I think so. Yeah, that's what it was. It's complete, it's like two keys different, like type of thing. Like it's way different.

SPEAKER_08

There, um, there's one of Sabrina Carpenter where she's singing and then she stops and she goes, Oh my god, guys, I forgot the words to my song. And then like three seconds later.

SPEAKER_11

Have either of you guys ever done that? So you want to go first?

SPEAKER_15

Yeah, you can go first. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_14

I panic because I can't think of my lyrics unless I'm in the moment, and so like sometimes when I'm like on stage and I think about it, I panic, and then all of a sudden muscle memory just kicks in, and I like I literally just can black out and I can do everything in the in the set. The only time yeah, the only time I've actually forgot a lyric, and it didn't forget a lyric, I sang the wrong verse, like I just mixed the two verses up was um I can't remember what's it was a cover, and I just can't remember what it was, but I I literally just flip-flopped the first and the second verse, so I was like, whoops, like it's it's all still there, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. I've definitely done that before, and like I've uh when a song is like brand new, like I I did that actually on a new song before it was even out because I'll like try stuff and see what happens in Brooklyn. I remember last year, March 28th, 2025. I forgot a lyric, and I'm like, and I was just open with it too. It's like, you know, we're working this out, people.

SPEAKER_14

That's fair. I and I think that's kind of cool too. It when when it's like something brand new, and it's it's it's also you know, and I I've said this like to like one of my guitarists and stuff, like we're playing the new song, and then it'll go, Well, yeah, we're a little shaky on some parts of this. I was like, Yeah, but nobody knows, yeah, nobody knows. So, like, I was like, if something messes up, oh well, like, no, nobody knows, so it's kind of almost more freeing in that sense.

SPEAKER_02

It's like it's supposed to be like that, absolutely, but you know what's funny. This is like kind of like poetic justice because the line that I forgot, the line after that says it's not a crime if I mess up sometimes. Well, that's perfect, yeah, that's perfect, so it's like yeah, hilarious, but yeah, for sure. Now, like I we rehearse so much um now that it's like you know, being able to sit with songs and being able to get so many shows and reps, it's like if anything, it might be like, Oh yeah, that was the second verse line, you know. Right.

SPEAKER_12

I when I was doing uh music, I did the the whole like three-hour show, you know, minimum 30 plus songs, and it was mostly covers. Yeah, dude. And dude, I mean, I would Hotel California, I just would sing like the same two lines for like four minutes straight. I feel like that is that as long as you name as long as you nail the the chorus in any one, you're good at any bar, dude. They just want to sing along and they don't know half of the verses. But yeah, I think there's sang that first opening like on a dark desert highway.

SPEAKER_02

Just that's great. That's a lot of material, man.

SPEAKER_12

Like, seriously, like I I loved it, but I hated it. Every time I would do it, I was like, This is it's so long, and I was a solo artist, so it was it was so much, and like I had horrible all the way down, like yeah, yeah, all a full acoustic set, and I like had horrible like stage presence. I'm much better now from doing the show, but like he but he nailed it every time. Lindsay my wife Lindsay would be like, You're just like very stiff, and you're like not interacting with anybody because I would literally just go up there, sing my songs, and then I would leave. Um, so I started trying to mix like jokes and stuff in, and uh they weren't they were horrible jokes, they were real.

SPEAKER_08

But I feel like the last time you did that, you got too talkie-dy, and then you did forget the song.

SPEAKER_14

Yes, which is crazy. Yeah, absolutely. That's not always a bad thing, though. The interaction is the part that people are gonna remember, not that he messed up on a lyric and yes, it's true.

SPEAKER_02

The experience, right?

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, that's right, that's right.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, that's why I just go and bounce up and down as hard as I can and as much as long as I can.

SPEAKER_12

Now you got circles. That's why we have to break your toes, Danny.

SPEAKER_08

That's why I have to Danny. 500 bucks. I'll come over and do it.

SPEAKER_12

Oh man, my mother says that she has well, I don't know. This could be Shiloh, I'm not sure. Somebody in my life says they have a story to tell us.

SPEAKER_08

Uh oh, I think that's Miss Shiloh.

SPEAKER_12

Feel free to type it out and I will read it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I want to hear it. I want to know.

SPEAKER_08

Um Miss Shiloh is 12, by the way. This could be anything. Um, is is her is her parent on because she's 12? Why is she watching a live stream? Yeah, that's everyone go everyone go shame the mom or mom in the chat. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Where's our guardian grade next year? Or what is it? Um what grade is she going into next year? I think fifth, I think.

SPEAKER_17

I think or sixth, something like that. Or sixth grade, something like that. Yeah, that's seven.

SPEAKER_12

I know. Uh you hey, you line them up, we knock them down.

SPEAKER_08

Lindsay said sixth grade.

SPEAKER_12

She knows okay, sixth grade.

SPEAKER_14

Oh man.

SPEAKER_08

She's a good time.

SPEAKER_14

Oh, I just remembered this. This is one thing I completely forgot. And it's not 100%. Oh, oh, okay.

SPEAKER_08

Is it like 85%?

SPEAKER_14

It's like 50-50. You can go either way.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, perfect. I love that you're sharing.

SPEAKER_14

I might be in Virginia with my band in July. Oh, that's awesome. So that's all that's all I can officially say right now. I might also be in northern Virginia in August.

SPEAKER_08

But where are you right now?

SPEAKER_14

New Jersey. Right outside of New York.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. Oh, wait, yeah, I mean that.

SPEAKER_14

I'm actually in the danger zone because I am three miles from MetLife Stadium, and in I don't know, two weeks, it's just gonna be insanity for a month. So yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So that's exciting, though. Yeah, I'll I'll give you the details once I'm able to lock anything in. Because I might actually need to talk to you about potentially going all the way down to where you are. Um, because if the show ends up happening, it is a show. If the show ends up happening, it would be on a Friday. Even even better, yeah. Heck yeah, man. Oh, I'm excited. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

We will we will talk about it.

SPEAKER_14

Well, we there's a lot of stuff. I I really there's a lot of stuff I really want to say. We got I know we got a lot of stuff planned. Um, Florida's a a place we've been talking about doing like an extended weekender, like flying in on like a Wednesday and leaving on a Sunday type of thing.

SPEAKER_08

Um, I would love to come say hi.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, because we've got we've got a bunch of friends in Florida. Uh, we also have a band that we met from uh we played an international music festival. Um, we met a band from Puerto Rico, and they're awesome. Like they're so good. I need to tell you about them because I want you guys, I want them on the podcast and stuff because they're just incredible. Um, and they want to play back up here with us again and then potentially like Puerto Rico or Florida. Heck yeah. Yeah, that's fun. Awesome. And I I will absolutely share their stuff with you guys because I think they'll be great for the podcast and stuff too.

SPEAKER_08

And you should also come to Florida.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm down.

SPEAKER_14

Where are you? You were mentioning Brooklyn.

SPEAKER_02

Are you in are you in New York? No, I'm in I split time between Toledo, Ohio, and uh LA. Oh wow. Yeah, so those are very different.

SPEAKER_14

I feel like very different vibes between those two.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, for sure. For they definitely are, and Toledo is like pretty much like two miles from like the border, like Detroit's only like 53 miles from here. All right, so yeah. Yeah, but I'm in Toledo right now, at the moment. I'm here.

SPEAKER_12

Now, Taylor and I will be up in Ohio in June.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, yeah. What dates? Do you know what dates? Um, I've been 16th through the 23rd.

SPEAKER_12

And I will be there the exact same time, possibly a little longer.

SPEAKER_08

Okay, I don't know how factual that is, but it's 16th through the something.

SPEAKER_02

Where are you guys going in Ohio?

SPEAKER_12

Uh that's a great question, Taylor. You want to tell you, I don't know.

SPEAKER_08

The Cleveland area. Okay. Cleveland Akron area.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, that's not that. That's uh like two hours. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, I used to play shows up in uh Toledo University University.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

But yeah, yeah, when we get up that way, I'll I'll shoot you a message. See if you're anywhere close.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, let me know what's up. Like, I'm we're leaving for we're actually um doing a residency at uh Cedar Point. No, we did that, yeah. But we're doing one this time at King's Dominion.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, okay, yeah, yeah. Oh, very cool.

SPEAKER_02

Virginia.

SPEAKER_11

That's actually closer. I remember going to King's Dominion when I was there I went there as a kid too.

SPEAKER_02

It's like some giant 75-foot stage in front of that Eiffel Tower, I guess. We're playing there. So when is that? That's like we're gonna be there for a minute. We're gonna be there the 18th is the first show through I think July 7th.

SPEAKER_13

Oh, okay. Wow, that's awesome.

SPEAKER_02

And then we come back and do an America 250 festival in Ohio, and then this Black Leavit thing, and then we go to North Carolina to do another Six Flags residency, and then go to LA to play. Hopefully, I'm getting on this thing, but I'm I'm going to El back to the West Coast to play some stuff. So yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Um, yeah, when you when you come to King's Dominion, I'll definitely see you. We have never been to King's Dominion yet.

SPEAKER_11

You haven't been to King's Dominion.

SPEAKER_12

Not yet, not yet. I've only been to Busch Gardens. We always drive by it, and we're like, we should go there.

SPEAKER_02

We haven't gone yet, so yeah, we're gonna be post it up for a few weeks, which will be cool.

SPEAKER_14

That's awesome. Yeah, I haven't been to King's Dominion forever, but like little kid Danny remembers King's Dominion, right?

SPEAKER_12

I was a Cedar Point kid growing up, Cedar Point and uh Kennywood. Yeah, we Cedar Point, yes, yes, we yeah, we're related, guys.

SPEAKER_08

You didn't know.

SPEAKER_12

Wait, you're related?

SPEAKER_08

Who are thought? I think we're distant cousins.

SPEAKER_12

This is the most Taylor has talked on a podcast with other people since we've done the show. That in itself is very special.

SPEAKER_08

Right. Um I'm sure I see. I love to chat, I love to sit and chat. I want to hear about everyone's lives, you know.

SPEAKER_14

What are you gonna do for it for episode 200? You gotta top this well. I'm glad you brought it up.

SPEAKER_07

I'm glad you said something, Danny. Does Danny know?

SPEAKER_12

I don't think so. No one knows. This will be the first time announcing it. Oh, I know.

SPEAKER_03

Um, are we in it right now?

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, funny enough, Ryan Cabrera

Episode 200 Reveal With Ryan Cabrera

SPEAKER_12

is coming back on the show, everybody. Third time's a charm. So, yeah, we're gonna hang out with Ryan. We're gonna do some uh some special giveaways. I've got uh episode 200 merch that we're gonna put up for a little bit of time.

SPEAKER_08

Do you think Ryan's baby will be on the show? And then your baby and Ryan's baby can have a baby podcast.

SPEAKER_11

Possibly, that would be fun. That would be amazing. That would be amazing.

SPEAKER_08

I want to, yeah, that's what I want. I want a baby podcast. I want them both to have microphones because I know podcasts, baby podcast.

SPEAKER_12

I know your little guy has a lot to say all the time, and we haven't confirmed it yet, but there might be a special performance. Wow, nice. So, anyways, that's that's episode 200, guys.

SPEAKER_02

It's gonna be it's gonna be big, and a baby is that too.

SPEAKER_08

Oh you're so we need you for marketing. That's the yeah. Can Adam come on and do a do a set?

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, I think so. If he wants to, he he's part of book. The the yeah, the issue is having a toddler, it's when he's tired, he's just tired. You you can't you gotta work with his time, yes, yes, you should and our show is right around bedtime.

SPEAKER_08

So unfortunately, you know what you should do, you should have him do it earlier than day, record it, and then you can play the recording.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, that's a good idea. Maybe we do that. That's a good idea.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, but make sure he has sunglasses and preferably a little a little cuppy of milk. So you can party it up.

SPEAKER_12

Um, let me show you guys. I want to show you another video here.

unknown

Hey.

SPEAKER_12

I have I have some good. Let's see. Oh, here we go. So those of you who don't know the show super well, um, might not know that we started this show for one reason and one reason only. Taylor, you want to tell the people why we started the show?

SPEAKER_08

I can share, I get to share. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

It's your show too.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, I know, but I love the reason why we started because y'all you have to go back to your roots, you know what I mean? You have to think about where you started and why you started it. There is one band in this world who well, multiple bands, but like one band that Harley and I are like we love so much. Lindsay too, right? Yeah, yeah, I was in Lindsay 2. And we started because we wanted to get them on the show. That was like our end goal. And we were like, when we get them on the show, we'll stop. And that is the one and only AJR.

SPEAKER_12

Yes, we are diehard AJR fans. Taylor, I love when Taylor explains it because her explanation is very beautiful, and mine is far more devious and cynical. What actually Happened is we arrived to an AJR show uh four and a half hours early. And we were we were like, Man, I wish that we had gotten the VIP experience. And then we were like, it's so expensive. How can we get a VIP experience for free? So we had four hours to sit and figure it out, and we determined the easiest way to do that is to start a podcast where we interview musicians, then every episode is a VIP experience. Yes, we had no idea that we were gonna end up actually loving doing this. We had we had no credentials, no experience to speak. It was just a couple of siblings with a microphone. Microphone in a dream, and now we have met some of the most incredible people, like Shavar and Danny, and so many others, and found so many incredible artists and bands that we love. And most of my music catalog is thanks to this show now. And now I get to experience and and show other people new bands that they haven't heard of. And I love this show, and I love what we do, and I love what I bring to the world through interviewing you guys and just having fun talking to my friends. I've made great friendships through this show.

SPEAKER_02

That's amazing.

SPEAKER_07

I love this life.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's so that's so cool. We've got to figure out when one of these big festivals come through to like get the festival or pay you guys to come out and do your lot. That would be awesome. That would be awesome.

SPEAKER_08

That'd be so cool. Gosh, give me a microphone and a suit. I'm out there.

SPEAKER_14

I have them somewhere. I'll show you suits when I can when I can find them. No, well, I have a suit. Uh I have one for everything. Um, no, they have the little it's the little road box like microphones that you can clip on and stuff. Oh, yeah, yeah. The little lab mics, yeah. Yeah, well, but they're like a box, and you can you get two to a set, so you can for you guys you would have and then you get what Taylor doesn't know is I have that.

SPEAKER_12

I actually have an entire live road ready bag right next to me. Nice anytime we get offered to do live events.

SPEAKER_08

Uh, because that's incredible.

SPEAKER_12

I unfortunately, when I have ideas like this, I go big. So in my head, I was like, Oh, well, we're gonna be playing festivals and like hosting events. We need to be ready. So I have the bag that I've only used once.

SPEAKER_02

So it's already ready. You're already that's right. I'm prepared. That's right. We're living in the present.

SPEAKER_12

But no, I'm super thankful for everything we've done. I'm super thankful to have been able to do 200 weeks in a row. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_17

That's yeah, that's amazing.

SPEAKER_08

In a inner row was you're very loose, very loose. Very loose. Now, now we did three years strong. We did three years strong interaction.

SPEAKER_12

Actually, Taylor, the day that we came home from the hospital with Adam. I had you and McKenna do a podcast for me that I monitored from the other room.

SPEAKER_08

This is true. Gosh, I love that girl.

SPEAKER_17

So yeah, yeah, that's so amazing.

SPEAKER_12

Damn, very, very happy with everything we've accomplished and all the people we've met, and uh, you know, the growth and everything. It's been awesome. Truly, it's been awesome. Like, so many times I I meet incredible artists like you guys, and I'm like, man, I I have no like who am I to sit down with, you know what I mean, and talk to you guys. Like, truly, like, that's the experience that I have constantly. And uh it's I'm very thankful that I get to do it, but like genuinely, I came into this with no credentials, and you guys have all been so

Why The Podcast Started In The First Place

SPEAKER_12

nice to me and gave me the time of day and let me ask my ridiculous questions. Yes, you know, it's it's been very, very cool to get to like learn and love music more through this. So amazing, anyways.

SPEAKER_08

I also like the record of our show, we still don't have credentials.

SPEAKER_12

No, that's not true. Now we have credentials, Taylor. We do, uh we are certified music journalists. Well, I am a certified music journalist journalist. You if you want me to make you one, yeah. Yeah, but like people report on us on the internet as music journalists, like yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, can I add it to my resume? That's cool.

SPEAKER_12

If you would like to, I I would.

SPEAKER_14

I mean, if you have a website, there's there's a record of it, yeah. Yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_12

Whoa, well, I mean, well, let the here are two people that we have interviewed, Taylor, sitting next to us right now. Do they consider us music journalists? It's their career.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, I put you guys as my what's it called at the end?

SPEAKER_15

Reference? References, yeah. I'm down for it.

SPEAKER_14

Yes, put put us both as your references on your on your reference.

SPEAKER_02

Do it. I'm down.

SPEAKER_08

Tell them it's great.

SPEAKER_02

But what's so cool too is just like everyone's just love of music, and that's what really brings us all together, you know. It's like just hanging out, this is amazing, you know, like talking with other passionate people that just love music, you know.

SPEAKER_14

So, yeah, yeah, and I mean loving music, yes, that's what connects us all, but like just being able to goof off and talk about anything, exactly the human experience, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, exactly. And I feel like there's like I don't know, there's like a a safety sometimes, and with people you know that love music to like you know you can kind of be more open, you know. So about whatever it is, yeah, not even talking about music, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Oh Faith, thank you for saying I get a deputy star. I think that was meant for me. And if you could make me one, that'd be pretty cool. I'll send you my address. Ask, ask your dad for my phone number. We'll talk.

SPEAKER_12

What's what's been also really cool is like um not just learning about new music, but being able to express my love in music and like develop a better vocabulary about it. Yeah, being able to talk about music on on a relatively high professional scale, you know what I mean? Because realistically coming into this, um I shot for the stars, and there are a handful of interviews that I look back on now that I think I would love to be able to go back and do those over with the knowledge of music that I have now, um, because I feel like I did those artists a disservice by coming in uninformed and unintelligent about what I was talking about. Um, specifically, like Danny, when your band comes back on, like uh it's gonna be a completely different show. There's so much more depth to go through now.

SPEAKER_14

Well, we had a lot of I told you like I think I told you in five minutes after the show, like that was so much fun. Let's do it again. Let's do it again. Yeah, we were just we were just gooping off. I I will say this uh everyone who's in the band now would absolutely love to do it. And I already told them that you know, we're I like I said we're trying to inch our way down to Virginia Beach so that we could do something in person because yeah, everybody is like that like big bright upbeat in person. So, like I I don't even know if like the camera really gets all of that. Right, right type of thing. So absolutely, we definitely want to we we want to be there in person if as soon as we can make it happen. So uh back to Virginia, yes, to fly in some money.

SPEAKER_08

I'm scared of planes.

SPEAKER_12

I'm scared earlier on the show. We we listened to Shavar's new song, Danny, and I have an urge to listen to Autumn Solver if you'll let me.

SPEAKER_14

You are more than welcome to.

SPEAKER_12

Yes, I love that song so much. I love that whole album personally. Um, can I pick a different song? Would wouldn't that be okay? Yes, totally. Okay, all right, all right.

SPEAKER_14

You're asking me for permission, you can listen to anything. The only thing you can't play is anything in secret that I've said, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, it has to be on Spotify.

SPEAKER_12

No, there's another song on here that I actually prefer more than Autumn's Over, but Autumn's Over is a fantastic.

SPEAKER_08

Yes, I'm so excited. I don't know if it's because I was so sick and like I just have a newfound love of life, but I am genuinely having a great time, guys. I need everyone to know that.

SPEAKER_12

This song I found a new look for um when we started doing our podcast and we were looking into intros.

SPEAKER_13

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_12

And I I had heard this song before because I have the album downloaded, but I never really gave it enough like experience, like listen and punk rock retirement. Ah, I was gonna ask something you were gonna love punk rock retirement. So let's listen to that, guys. So I'm gonna go ahead and throw that up real quick. We're gonna give it a quick listen here. Punk rock retirement by just happy to be here. Hold on one second. I messed up. I forgot to share sound.

SPEAKER_08

Faith, if you're still on,

Playing “Punk Rock Retirement” Live

SPEAKER_08

I think you and I are gonna become best friends.

SPEAKER_12

There we go. Here we go.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_12

Does anybody else talk while they do everything?

SPEAKER_08

Yes. Yeah. You hate an awkward silence. Me too.

SPEAKER_12

All right. Let's do it.

SPEAKER_09

I sing the national anthem personally, but this Pokemon retirement is not for me. It's for everyone else. We did 2003.

SPEAKER_12

That is Punk Ret Punk Rock Retirement by the band Just Happy to Be Here.

SPEAKER_14

I I am so happy that that you picked that one because it's really funny. I have so many stories about that song, but we never talk about them because that wasn't the single from that EP. Right. So like to tell. Well, there's so that chorus is probably my favorite chorus just because it goes dun, dunun, dun dun, dun dun, dun. I always wanted it like over and over again as many times as we could do it. And if you notice, we only do it one time. The second chorus gets cut really quick. Um, so I was like, I was really sad about that. And then to cheer me up, there is a backing vocal from Dane, our guitar, our original guitarist, who's since left the band uh for work reasons. Like he's still a really good friend, he still helps out with some newer, newer material and stuff like that. He helps us like gives us ideas or or refine some of our ideas, and he's really cool. Um, but uh there's a backing vocal that he did just to make me laugh. And now, because he's not in the band, Justin does it just to make me laugh. And every single time he does, because I don't expect it, it's the the yeah, yeah, just like when I'm holding out something, and it makes I swear they do it at live shows, and now everybody else in the band still does it, like just to throw me off because I'll laugh every single time. But we had to call it punk rock retirement, uh, because Dane was kind of the one who had like the original idea for the song. Um, because he went to like a punk rock flea market, and that's why it had to be called punk rock retirement, because he saw these old aging punk rockers, and he was like, I don't want that to be us, like type of thing. Because I was like, pop punk retirement sounds exactly the same. Can we just do that? He goes, No, it was at a punk rock flea market, it has to be punk rock retirement, we have to leave it this way. Um, yeah, and that was it was such a fun song to to collaborate, and even the the beginning with all of the the different voices, like the a cappella part. We were like, What what are we doing here? Like, because you know, it's it's so goofy and over the top. Like, I think we recorded like eight different tracks for that just that part to what are we doing for this thought?

SPEAKER_12

But uh, yes, Taylor, you have uh you have a question there.

SPEAKER_08

What now? I'm sure that I know what this is, but I don't know if Harley and Shabard do. Um, what is a punk rock flea market?

SPEAKER_14

You've never had you don't have punk rock flea markets. They have I have a flea market, they have they have some in New York City, they have some in Asbury, they have some in uh like Atlantic City. Like it's it and maybe it's like a Jersey, New York thing. I just thought it was a regular thing.

SPEAKER_08

Do you buy punk rock people?

SPEAKER_12

No, you can't buy people, Taylor.

SPEAKER_08

No, I didn't think so.

SPEAKER_14

I thought we were punking. I think in most of the world that's illegal. That's illegal, but it's it's really cool. It's like a bunch of indie, like you know, there might be like a booth that's like they make buttons, but they make you know music-related buttons, and so it's like punk rock bands will will have like a ton of old punk rock and vintage stuff, and it'll be like you know, leather spiky coats and belts, and and in another booth, vests, and yeah, it's it is such a fun experience, other than the I guess other than the one that our original guitarist Dane went to and thought of that idea for the song. Um, but and for some reason the sex pistols are at all of them. I don't know how they get there. Exactly. At Cartaman, they're just uh but yeah, when we were actually talking about um a single to release for that EP, that was that was one of the ones that I picked. I didn't pick Autumn's Over. Like, what's what's even crazier is there is a uh parallel universe where Autumn's Over was not on the the EP. If things had not gone the way they went, there was gonna be another song on the EP and because Autumn's Over wasn't done yet.

SPEAKER_12

So now that being said, um everybody watching, when you check out Just Happy to Be Here, tell me that I'm wrong when I say this, but Autumn's Over is absolutely on my Christmas playlist every year. That is a Christmas song, it's a Christmas song. You wrote the the what's her name? Uh uh who's the Christmas Queen, Mariah Carey. Mariah Carey. You wrote the the like pop punk Mariah Carey song. Like it's a Christmas song in every sense of the word.

SPEAKER_14

We did well, it's it's definitely a winter song. I don't know if it's a Christmas song. It's definitely a winter song. I appreciate we'll sell ornaments, we'll we'll make a limited number of ornaments.

SPEAKER_02

We should. That's like super dope, actually.

SPEAKER_08

Like you absolutely should.

SPEAKER_14

Well, you've you've heard the the Christmas cover we did. The Christmas cover we did

Punk Rock Flea Markets And Holiday Lore

SPEAKER_14

on their Christmas, yeah. Yeah, that's will always be like my personal favorite Christmas song because I heard it when I was a little kid. I have I had no idea what this was about or anything like that. Um, but it just like I got introduced to it from my dad who showed me all these weird, bizarre Christmas songs. Like, there's a ton of them that were just like really off. And he actually recorded them. I remember like some of my like core memories are my dad had like cassette tapes that were so old that they're I at this point they probably disintegrated, but they just he recorded them off of the radio and and everything, and we would play them like while we were decorating and stuff. And I was like five years old, and we were playing them, and and that was one of the songs. I mean, it had stuff like you know, Chipmunks Christmas song on it and stuff like that. But I always remembered Father Christmas, and I always said, like when once I started a band, I was like, I'm going to I'm going to cover that one day. And it was like the secret. I actually didn't tell him until we had it recorded and and mixed already. And then I sent it to him. Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

So yeah, wait, that's really cool. Autumn's over is my Christmas song. I I appreciate it. I'm not gonna argue with it. I appreciate it. Well, so it's it's literally when it comes on, like I'll have it, I'll it'll play on my on my shuffle when I'm in the car. And I immediately think of Christmas every time. As soon as it starts, I'm like, damn, that is Christmas to me.

SPEAKER_14

You know what's fun is and not a lot of people have had a chance to experience this. We don't do Christmas shows that often. We do we we do them some years, but then everybody gets really weary because so close to the holidays, everybody nobody wants to get sick. And that came from one of our very first shows ever, was a holiday show, and all of us got COVID. So we all had a quarantine through the holidays, and it was a miserable experience. So everybody has flashbacks of that, so we just really space it far out. Um, but we used to do uh for with the lights on around Christmas time, we do with the Christmas lights on, and so there is there's like limited merch out that has like with the lights on and has the string of Christmas lights on it and stuff.

SPEAKER_12

That's awesome.

SPEAKER_07

That's so fun.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I show you guys something related to all of us. It ties in the trivia question, too.

SPEAKER_15

Oh that's awesome, totally new one, new uh ornament. But I've had this since I was a kid, really, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

So that's incredible. You just had that on hand.

SPEAKER_10

That is pretty incredible.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, amazing. Gosh, I bet that's worth a bajillion dollars, too.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't know, but I I don't know. It's one of the things I've been able to hold on to out of the many things that I lost over the years.

SPEAKER_12

Uh, are you guys all uh Jimi Hendrix fans? Obviously, Shavar Dante is, but Danny, you uh a Jimi Hendrix fan?

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, I mean growing up, my dad, I mean, I got really like and I've said I've said this to you, and I know I think I might have said it in the interview that we actually had a long time ago at this point. Um, I got really lucky growing up. Like my dad showed me everything rock classic rock, modern rock, and then I kind of shifted towards pop, uh like punk rock, scott, and then pop punk, and then I showed my dad pop punk, and now he loves. Story So Far is like one of his favorite bands. A data remembers one of his favorite bands. Like, I got him into that stuff, and he got me into all the original stuff. So it was like really cool.

SPEAKER_02

So that's super cool. Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

What is the most overrated Jimi Hendrix song? Not your favorite. The one that you're like, that song's not that good, and they play it a lot.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, that's that's tough. My favorite songs aren't even the main songs people listen to, though, to be honest.

SPEAKER_11

Right.

SPEAKER_02

I think my favorite song is a song on the first album, May This Be Love. And it's like this like later track that's like kind of a chill one.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

I actually don't know that album.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, R You Experience, that first one. Yeah, there's some that one is.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, R You Experience. Oh, okay. Oh, oh, that's the name of the song. I actually don't know that song.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. May This Be Love. Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

Oh. It might be it might be one of those ones where you've heard it, but you just don't remember.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, that could be a story of my life.

SPEAKER_12

For me, it's um it's all along a watchtower. I think that's a a heavily overrated song in general, but I feel like the Jimi Hendrix, I'm gonna say version right now, even though you know there's a lot of versions of that song, but um his version of that song I feel like is just more overplayed on classic rock stations.

SPEAKER_15

Yeah, first from part.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, and it's a great song. Like, truly, it is a great song, it's got an incredible guitar solo in it, but like I could go with that. I would prefer to listen to like Castle's Made of Sand all day long.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, that's my favorite Jimi Hendrix song.

SPEAKER_14

Are you on are you uh looking at Spotify right now? Because oh yeah, uh, all along the watchtower is actually number one in popularity. Is it really? Wait, 858 million in change for streams.

SPEAKER_12

I mean, people love that song. It's a good song, like and that guitar solo is sick.

SPEAKER_08

What's crazy if you're gonna say it, stand 10 toes down.

SPEAKER_14

What's crazy is second song, second most popular song, half as many plays.

SPEAKER_15

Oh, really? What is it? Purple Haze. Purple Haze. I figured it's that one.

SPEAKER_14

But that's such a crazy margin of like one to the other. I did I I would have I would have put purple haze like 1A, 1B, like as far as popularity of that song.

SPEAKER_12

You hear the I think I think it's probably because they put Watchtower in a so many movies, especially like the the tail end of the first verse leading into that guitar solo. That plays in anytime you see a movie with Vietnam in it, like oh yeah, every time. Every time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's like that and like CCR.

SPEAKER_12

CCR, yeah. It's all always, always sometimes back to back.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, exactly. Exactly.

SPEAKER_14

We just make like a war movie soundtrack at this point. I think they did. I think it's the Forrest Gump soundtrack. Yeah, I think you're not wrong.

SPEAKER_12

Uh another fantastic movie. I love that movie. Great movie. Forrest Gump.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, Little Wing, Hey Joe, Boodo Child.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, yeah, yeah. Little Wing's great. Okay, yeah, that man, that's Hey Joe's another one, though, that I could kind of go without. You know, it's a it's a fun song, but like Yeah, but for sure.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, what's the song Hey Jude? Is that the Beatles?

SPEAKER_12

That's the Beatles. Do we like the Beatles here? What's our opinion about the Beatles?

SPEAKER_15

I do for sure.

SPEAKER_12

I do. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_08

I have a question for the crowd, and this is live, so this is gonna be great. How do we how do we feel about Helen Keller?

SPEAKER_02

Oh god, Helen Keller.

SPEAKER_12

Yes, yes, Shawar. Taylor here is what you would call no a Helen Keller denier.

SPEAKER_08

No, no, she existed. See, this is this is where this is where we get the the whole she's real. I'm not saying she's not real.

SPEAKER_12

Come on, let's litigate it. Let's do it.

SPEAKER_08

She just didn't do what they say she did.

SPEAKER_12

It's crazy.

SPEAKER_14

It's crazy. But here's the thing is the only person, but but here's the thing. Like, I feel like there's you you find that out about a lot of I don't even know if I can I can call her a historic figure. Is that fair to say you find that out like where you know they kind of add on as the the decades go on, type of thing. Like you thank you. I don't think I I'm not blaming Helen Keller for that though.

SPEAKER_08

Like I just I just don't think I don't think she wrote books.

SPEAKER_12

So listen, so listen.

SPEAKER_11

Okay.

SPEAKER_12

The only the only thing, the only thing that I can common, like find common ground is we did read a story about them saying that Helen Keller flew a plane. We immediately we immediately debunked that story because she technically, technically, she flew a plane, but there was a pilot that brought her from the cabin up to the front, similar to like if you have a kid on a plane and they go up to the cockpit. That kid can now say he flew a plane, you know what I mean? Like she took the controls for a few minutes on a plane.

SPEAKER_11

That I will give you a stretch.

SPEAKER_14

Whoa, but when did this happen? Because we're planes are basically giant computers now.

SPEAKER_07

That is true.

SPEAKER_14

But like if you think about it, like how long ago was this? Because if you're taking the controls, you may be manually flying a plate.

SPEAKER_12

You would be very interested to know. This is a fun little game we played, too.

SPEAKER_08

This is a fun game. So, okay.

SPEAKER_12

When when do you think Helen Keller lived, guys? Tell me how long ago do you think Helen Keller was?

SPEAKER_08

She she passed away in 1968.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, you weren't supposed to tell them.

SPEAKER_02

Like, yeah, I was gonna say, I thought it was late 1800s.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, that's the thing, is like when you think of Helen Keller, you think of her as like the 1800s or like like the early 20s, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, I was more gonna say like uh 1910, 1920.

SPEAKER_10

She didn't pass away until 1968.

SPEAKER_14

Wow.

SPEAKER_15

Yeah before TikTok. This was crazy. That now here's my thing.

SPEAKER_08

Here's my thing, and here's what I'm going to say. I'm going to defend myself a little bit. I don't know how much you guys know about Helen Keller. I did a big deep dive. It's kind of a whole thing. I got on the wrong side of TikTok. Like it's a whole thing.

SPEAKER_14

Your algorithm sounds weird.

SPEAKER_12

Helen Keller denier videos, Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson.

SPEAKER_08

So she got an illness when she was, I want to say it was like a year, year and a half old.

SPEAKER_02

I think. I remember I think she was like 19 months or something.

SPEAKER_08

Yes, yeah, like 19 months old.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

And that's when she had lost like her vision and her hearing. Now that like she died in 1968, so I think she was born in what? Like 1920.

SPEAKER_17

I think she was born in 18, late 1800s. Like late, yeah, I think late 1800s actually. 1880, maybe.

SPEAKER_08

So how much did doctors know back then? Yes, 1880.

SPEAKER_02

1880, June.

SPEAKER_08

You know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

It's like how much did they know? And also, did they test her as she got older? Here's my thing. Here's my thing. I think she wasn't fully deaf. I think she was fully blind, but hearing is like the last thing to go. And I think they caught her illness, like they were able to treat it. I don't think she was fully deaf. What did she think she what did she get?

SPEAKER_14

Like, what did she have?

SPEAKER_08

Umitis.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, I don't remember. She had a high fever, leaving her totally deaf and blind. Doctors that diagnosed it at the time as a brain fever. Experts today believe she suffered from scarlet fever or meningitis.

SPEAKER_02

Or meningitis. Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

So it's like, was she fully deaf? Because here's sorry, I'm very passionate about this. She like I understand teaching her sign language in her hand. I get that. But also, how did she know what those were? Like, that's my whole thing. Like, you can sign ball all you want, but like, how do you know what a ball is? Do you know what I'm saying? Without being able to like visually see the ball.

SPEAKER_12

Here's how I discredit this entire argument. We have videos of this woman. This was she died in 1968. She conversed with people for a very, very long time.

SPEAKER_08

I'm saying she's real.

SPEAKER_12

But hear me out. If she wasn't fully deaf at some point in time in her life, you don't think she would have signed to somebody and said, Hey, just so you know, I can slightly hear you. I don't think so. Can we maybe fixing this?

SPEAKER_08

I think she was in 2D. You don't think you're crazy? You're crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Oh man.

SPEAKER_08

Anyways, that's my icebreaker. I should have started out at the beginning.

SPEAKER_02

She's like, she's too invested. This is like an episode of curve. She's like

Jimi Hendrix Favorites And Overplayed Hits

SPEAKER_02

too invested to learn what enough.

SPEAKER_08

I I do, I do think she was real. I do think that she did, like, I do think that she learned these things. I I genuinely, though, I genuinely don't think she was fully deaf. I think she was like very, very, very deaf. Don't get me wrong. Do you know what I mean? Like, but I think there's a little part that, like, if you yelled loud enough, I think she could probably hear she wouldn't be able to understand what you're saying.

SPEAKER_12

She never learned that language.

SPEAKER_08

Unless they figured out she wasn't fully deaf, and that's how they taught her. I just need to know like what the test was back in the 1800s. Do you know what I mean? Like, I think about how much we've progressed since then.

SPEAKER_12

I mean, I guess, but even then, like imagine, Taylor, Taylor, imagine that you woke up one day and you couldn't see out of your eyes.

SPEAKER_00

I were in contacts, buddy. That's my life.

SPEAKER_12

Hold on, hold on. You you don't think that you would spend the rest of your life insisting to everyone you come in contact with to try and fix your eyes? You think she wanted to live that life?

SPEAKER_08

I don't know if she had a choice. That's what it was the 1800s. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_12

By the time we probably had the technology, she's probably saying here, what you're saying here is that her parents not only realized that she could, in fact, still hear, but were able to use that to teach her and not not English, but an entire different language that she invented.

SPEAKER_08

Um guys, this is my favorite topic. I bring it up like once a week. I need everyone to know that. And it's so I also for everyone watching, it's so unserious. It really is.

SPEAKER_12

I just think I just think that it might have been a lot easier to teach her English, maybe, instead of inventing a new language. Did they if they knew she could hear?

SPEAKER_08

When did Braille come about? Do we know?

SPEAKER_12

I'm 90% sure that it was Helen Keller.

SPEAKER_08

You're not gonna tell me she made Braille too. Oh, sorry, that was dramatic. I didn't mean to hit my hand on our lots of game down.

SPEAKER_14

Allegedly, is what the uh other Chris said.

SPEAKER_07

That's so funny if she did. If she did, I I will ten toes down Helen Keller's wild.

SPEAKER_12

It was invented 50 years prior to her birth. Braille was wow, but she did Braille was invent some sort of a language. Sorry, I'd have to read the 50s.

SPEAKER_08

Well, it wasn't it wasn't sign language, right? Like that, I feel like that's that was before her time too.

SPEAKER_12

So they they taught her how to communicate um with like sounds at first, and then they they taught her. How is she hearing the sounds? No, they taught her to communicate using sounds. They train her like a dog, yes, basically, but Taylor, I'm a parent, and I'm here to tell you that training a child is a lot like training a dog. Teaching language to a kid is a lot like teaching a dog a new trick.

SPEAKER_08

I I feel like I've found out a lot about everybody today.

SPEAKER_14

And that's the most important thing.

SPEAKER_08

You want to do wild. We all learned something. I I do I do bring this up. I think it's really funny to bring up because it really is wild. I got on that side of TikTok. It is pretty crazy. Like, it's crazy that I got on that.

SPEAKER_12

Not only is it crazy, it's kind of scary how quickly you can like find a video and just be like, Well, this is what I believe now.

SPEAKER_08

This is what I believe, but it's also like the amount of people who are younger than me, and not much younger, I mean like 18, 19, who just don't know who Helen Keller is, is wild to me. Like, I brought it up to someone and they're like, Is that a fictional character?

SPEAKER_14

And I said, Depending on who you ask, could be this could be uh uh an entire episode, is just stating asking everybody what year they thought something happened or something was invented, or a person was was born. Because it in my brain, I was way off on yeah, that's when we look we we actually did this on an episode.

SPEAKER_12

We had this, we ended up having to do another 30 minutes talking about this because it was a very deep conversation, but like but like when I looked it up that day, I was baffled because I also was like, This was prior to like videos, this was black and white photos at best, and it had the guy with the big thing, and he's like you know, you had to stand there, yeah. That's what I was thinking, but this woman 45 minutes this woman lived long enough to witness Jimi Hendrix, like yeah, that's wild, like in a stay day. And when when I thought about it and we we did the show, I was like, Yeah, like Lindsay's mother was alive for Helen Keller, like our stepfather was eight when she died, right? That's what I'm saying. Like, it is crazy how shortly ago that was because it does feel

The Helen Keller Rabbit Hole Debate

SPEAKER_12

so long ago, crazy, yeah.

SPEAKER_17

No kidding, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, it's wild to me. I also definitely had someone think that Helen Keller was Amelia Earhart.

SPEAKER_12

That's also funny, and I think that's really funny.

SPEAKER_08

And then I I said that and I was like, no, and then they're like, Okay, well, then I don't know who Amelia Earhart is, and I said, Well, that's worse. I'd rather you know who Amelia Earhart is.

SPEAKER_12

I definitely have confused pictures of um Anne Frank with pictures of Helen Keller.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, do you mean yeah, not on purpose, but like man enough to say it though, huh?

SPEAKER_12

But like like I saw a picture, I was watching a video. Uh I forget what it was. It was like two people like naming like historic figures, and they would pull up the picture in the middle, right? And it was a picture of Ann Frank, and I was like, Oh, Helen Keller, and I was like, Oh man, I was so wrong.

SPEAKER_08

Pre-malone is pro-Helen Keller.

SPEAKER_12

Thank you. Fun Helen Keller, but also pro-Helen Keller, like, yeah, she exists.

SPEAKER_08

I agree, she exists. I just nah that's not how she did all the things or said, like, like, I I think the book thing was the lady who taught her how to do it. I think I think it was a money grab for her.

SPEAKER_09

I think it was.

SPEAKER_12

Oh man. Well, everybody, that was 199 episodes, guys.

SPEAKER_08

Chris Chris said that she could have hooked up with Hugh Hefner.

SPEAKER_12

She could have.

unknown

That's great.

SPEAKER_08

It could have been a Playboy money for all man. That I believe.

SPEAKER_12

Uh oh, Danny Shavar. Thank you guys so much for hanging out today. I was so excited to have you guys on the next.

SPEAKER_07

Let's make this the new podcast.

SPEAKER_02

This was a lot of fun. We'll definitely have to like have a reunion. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Reunion is great.

SPEAKER_12

That'll be fun. Um, this this has been 199 episodes of doing this. Next week is 200 weeks of this show, and we couldn't have done it without everybody that listens and watches, and um all of all of our amazing guests and artists, and and yeah, it wouldn't be possible without everybody involved. So um Danny from the band Just Happy to Be Here and The Dark Side of Music with me. What's the name of your podcast? Oh, uh That Recap Show. That recap show.

SPEAKER_15

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Every time you've said that, I thought you were telling me like what it was about.

SPEAKER_14

I was just about to say that's where the title came from, to be completely honest. It was just like, oh, you know, like how they do those those recap shows, and I was like, that's what I want to do for the show. And I was trying to think of a name, and I was like, That recap show is perfect.

SPEAKER_12

Literally, I've been looking for it and looking for it, and I was like, I can't, I can't find it. I was like googling your name and typing in podcasts, and I was like, I can't find it, and every time you kept saying, Y'all, the that recap show, and I said I was like, Does he not know the name of his own show?

SPEAKER_14

I just figured it's easier to Google that or search that, and then accidentally somebody stumbles on the show.

SPEAKER_12

So 100%. You're absolutely right. I'm just dumb.

SPEAKER_08

That's so funny.

SPEAKER_12

Oh man, uh, Shavar Dante. Everybody, check out Shavar Dante. Incredible music. Is so incredible music. Very cool. Um, thank you guys again so much for being on the show. I I do have to go because I promised my wife I'd be done by nine.

SPEAKER_08

So oh, I'm so sorry. I I brought up a hard-hitting topic at the end. I wasn't even looking at it.

SPEAKER_14

It's all your fault denying Helen Keller at the end.

SPEAKER_08

It normally is hard.

SPEAKER_12

Honestly, this is the most Taylor has ever been involved in this show, and I'm so happy to see it.

SPEAKER_02

And now you're gonna have me on TikTok looking up this Helen Keller.

SPEAKER_14

All of our phones already heard it. The next time you're scrolling on TikTok, that's coming up. Exactly.

SPEAKER_12

All right, guys, thanks again. It has been real. Thanks everybody for coming on. Thank you guys a great time. And it is the Hook and Bridge podcast. Peace out, everybody.

SPEAKER_08

Love you too, Chris. I just saw the message.
